I also found a new way to read Madoka after my latest rewatch. The friend I was showing it to pointed out that even the simplest of actions are super exaggerated and I thought “huh, they usually do that in stage plays when so the audience in the back can see better” ex:

Then I realized: this is on purpose. The way the whole story is told is privy to a stage play.

The very first things that happen are the curtains opening and Madoka entering centre stage.

The sets, too. Ik the chairs are symbolic but it also is very much spread out like it’s on a stage

Especially the shadow play with Kyubey, it’s a common thing utilized in stage plays.

Most of all, Walpurgisnacht is LITERALLY THE STAGE-CONSTRUCTING WITCH.

Walpy puts the play in action by killing Madoka and Mami in the first timeline. From then on, Homura is forced to act out the same play over and over again helplessly for times lines and time lines. Her lines become scripted, she’s become an actor and in the theatre witches play.

So "Thanks to Them" right... well I have a lore theory.

So we know that Flapjack was an Palismen under the care of the bat queen (think that was her name) and had immediately latched onto Hunter when they met, despite getting along well with Luz too. But this new episode gave me an idea.

When Belos goes on his rampage and starts trying to suck Flapjack's life force he says the name "Evalyn" now I could be forgetting something, but I think that could have been the name of the witch his brother Caleb fell in love with.

I also think Flapjack might have originally been her Palismen and that was why Flapjack latched onto Hunter so strongly, because he could recognize Hunter as Caleb's grimwalker. And if Hunter is anything like Caleb then it's possible that Flapjack had loved Caleb just as much as he did his original witch. So when Flapjack met Hunter he immediately started latching onto him like he had Caleb.

Just some food for thought and likely forgetting a bunch of details from season 1 and two that will poke holes in this but it's cool if it's true.

Terraqua Scarecrow (2000) AU because… I have no idea why I just felt like it. 

Decided to play with using a screenshot to draw over for reference and let me tell you, early animated movies that weren’t large budget did not age well. I had to re-proportion a good bit of Aqua to make it look right.

Everyone going shopping on Black Friday, be aware of three things:

The retail workers are working 12 hours shifts. We are threatened with losing our jobs if we don’t show up unless we’re dying in the hospital. I had an assistant manager show up with fucking strep because he would’ve been fired otherwise. Yes, he did infect 7 and hospitalize 2 coworkers; who knows how many members of the public he infected.

The stores have, maybe, 5 of that special cheap thing you’re after. Corporate does this on purpose, and stores are not allowed to order enough. The prices aren’t even that much lower. They lie about how expensive something is to fool you into thinking you’re getting a discount. You aren’t.

Most of the workers you will come across will be new hires for the sole purpose of being bodies for about three months before they’re fired. They actually don’t know anything because they’ve been working there for maybe two weeks, and have had no real training. I was once hired at Staples a week before Black Friday and expected to know how to deal with phones, coupons, the online ordering site, and AS400 after five 6-hour shifts. This is the kind of person you will likely be dealing with at Black Friday.

Do me and my retail family a favor and don’t shop Black Friday. Any company that needs a sale day like Black Friday to get their sales out of the red doesn’t deserve to be in business.

This also goes for anyone that works shipment too. We’re suddenly expected to stay as late as they want you to even if they know you don’t have a car and rely on a ride to get you to and from work and know you can’t stay late. Shipment workers will suddenly start getting berated for not getting things done and it is by far the most stressful time to be a shipment worker for any store. Especially when they throw in new hires that don’t know how to process things and are expected to work at the same pace as the people that have worked there for a while.
