* mythosisms … tall, dark & dangerous .
plotted starter for @ischyros || Demi Contavius
Cyrus could sense disaster, destruction, and chaos from continents away, really. But this was the first time he sensed it in such utterly phenomenal heights. The sheer power of it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, causing his entire body to tense up. Metal grey eyes glanced behind him into the distance, curls of dark hair brushing across his forehead. The power only AMPED up, causing him to tense even more. No, this wasn’t a type of power that would pass or die down…. it was the type of power that could swallow up this entire planet.
Was it a GOD? No, not the Greek ones anyway. This level of power had Cyrus’ memories pulling him to a niche memory in the deepest, darkest crevices of his mind. Of dark voids, of red anger, and the shattering of an entire realm…and – Not now.
Magic flowed around him, shadows swirling, clinging to like a second skin before they took him right to the storm of power. The earth was shaking, land destroyed before his very eyes, debris flying everywhere, cracks in the earth getting deeper and deeper as the earth wailed in grief and destruction. And right in the middle of the storm was a woman with hair like spun gold, which flew around her head like a halo. But it was her expression, one of pure and utter terror, that caught his eyes the most.
The memory pulled him in once more, of him bent over, clutching his head, eyes glowing like moonlight as the void was activated for the first time, fueled by his anger, his rage, and his helplessness – like a cornered animal he had lashed out and then was unable to control it when the VOID emerged, crushing, destroying everything it came into contact with, shattering an entire realm. He recalled how he had screamed his throat raw, pure terror on his face as he begged for someone to make it all stop —
In a blink, it all stopped, irises swirling with the colour of smoke, hands casually in his pockets as his powers activated, cancelling out hers. He didn’t absorb them, gods knew he had enough destructive powers, for now, he just neutralized her powers. His powers intertwined with hers, adapting, adjusting to cancel them out as he walked over to her, right into the eye of the storm. It took a good level of concentration to keep her powers neutralized, which spoke volumes to how powerful she was. However, despite the fact that he neutralized her abilities and the earth was no longer shaking, the woman still had terror coming off of her in waves, her heart rate skyrocketing.
There was a vast piece of missing earth between them, to which Cyrus stood at the edge. One glance down, one could almost see the core of the earth. Eyes flicked up and with a shift of his powers, he was across the vast canyon between them, right where she was curled up with that look of terror that tugged something deep within him he thought he had lost. Without really thinking about it, Cyrus bent down, gathering the woman up in his arms and lifted her up.
To Cyrus, she barely weighed a damn thing. And yet, he was pretty damn sure she would have destroyed half the planet if she wasn’t stopped in time. “Breathe,” he instructed, his voice gruff but low and quiet, as if he didn’t want to scare her more than she already was. “I’ve nullified your powers….it’s safe now…breathe.”
𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃𝐍'𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 ; what it was that had set her off. ( 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘨𝘦. ) her necklace was gone ; that much she was aware of. it’s steady weight against her chest was gone, the heat of it’s power no longer registering on her skin. what was registering was the earth around her, pulsing like waves at the end of her fingertips. it’s hum setting off a fire in her blood, transferring from her fingers to her soul, partnering up with her powers and letting loose a wave of power so destructive. Demi wasn’t even sure there was an off button for it. normally her mom or sister could do it, but as she screamed herself raw, the trees ripping from the ground in response, Demi was positive there wasn’t an antidote this time.
her fear doubled ––– terror burning through her like a plague. her usually bright sapphire eyes dulling [ . . . ] as she finds herself consumed with destruction and chaos. her power was overshadowing the animal inside a cage as it grew in strength. becoming almost unstoppable, as her blood, the earth, and her terror fuels it. she can hear as the ground opens, ripping straight to the core and exposing layers to the sun that normally were hidden. and there she stood, right in the middle of it all. like some twisted fallen angel, her hair swirling like a halo as her soul screamed for salvation. screamed for someone to hear her.
she doesn’t feel the ground as she falls to her knees, not the way most would, all she feels is more power. cycling through the connection and thrumming inside of her. destruction growing in it’s power and terror. but then she feels it, a blanket of sorts wrapping around her, containing the power to which she was unleashing. her head feels heavy as eyes flicker upwards, landing on the tall male. but yet she doesn’t see more than that, her terror and fear far too strong for her to register anything in that moment. her body only shifting to curl inside itself. as she waits, wonders if the reprieve was nothing more than than a trick, her mind playing tricks that she was sane, when in reality she had lost her mind.
his hands feel like shackles, binding her back to reality as he pulls her close. his scent invading her very senses and covering the scent of destruction that surrounded her. the scent of dying earth replaced with a scent that was far more comforting. more so, as her heart raced it’s own marathon, she could feel it. the coiled serpent she used to represent both human and wolf inside of her, the representation slowly uncoiling from it’s slumber. the animal having previously been silenced by the onslaught of power, but now once more, it was awake and part of her.
[ well he smells nice !! ]
Oh for the love of, she really wished her wolf came with a mute button. she’d smash that shit down and superglue the bastard if she had too. because really, the animal side of her wanted to comment on how nice he smelt. when she was too busy trying to figure out if she was to be auditioning as some blonde twit in a b rated horror film as he killed her. seriously, talk about fucking priorities.
« will you shut up, we are not going there. »
[ but come on admit it, he smiles nice !! ]
« i don’t care if he smells like a fucking chocolate dream, shut the fuck up for five minutes. »
shaking her head softly, fingers tightening momentarily on the arm she had placed them on. she can’t sense his emotions and for right now she’s very thankful as she isn’t sure she can do another power influx. after all this had been the worst, and that counted the influx that tried to kill her for the first nine years of her life. opening bleary eyes she looks around, and sees the damage. her heart which had previously been calming, once more racing as she sees just what she’s done. yeah nice one Demi, just trash the place.
“ oh fuck me. ” she mutters [ . . . ] her filter quite literally taking a vacation in that moment as she looks around, and back up to the male. Oh fuck, well someone was sin wrapped in a tall package. and you better stay fucking quiet wolfie. “ erm …… what the fuck did i do ??. ” okay so maybe asking him who he was, was supposed to be her first words. but jesus christ she could see the core of the earth, so tall, dark and dangerous’ name could wait. for five minutes. but wait, why did he seem familiar. god her head needed to sort itself out already, she couldn’t put anything in order.
