This completely blew my mind! His Shanghainese sounds so good! It is quite disappointing so see so many people respond to him in Mandarin. Is Shanghainese really dying that fast or are there just too many foreigners living in Shanghai now? Whatever the case may be, I hope more people like him keep the many dialects of China alive! Even though schools all over China encourage children to speak Mandarin, I hope that parents keep speaking their original dialects so their children can keep that bit of Chinese history with them.
