帐 vs. 账

I noticed that in Tumblr’s Chinese interface, all Chinese text referring to “account” is written as “帐户”. This is incorrect; the correct term should be “账户”.

The reason, in Chinese, is as follows: 账户（账号） is more common and more standard, and is suitable for terms such as “login account”, “game account”, “social media account”, and “email account”. 帐户（帐号） is an older habitual spelling and is also very common, but it is generally not the preferred standard form today.

Chinese is so much fun but also it makes me scared about how I’ll handle it in uni 🥹 so far it’s been super intriguing and cool to learn, i just hope i’m capable of actually getting it into my head 😭 uni starts in 2 months so hopefully i’ll make some progress by then 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Just learned that 豆腐头/豆腐頭 is a word for charging brick/block. What a delight!!!

(Looks like more "official" names are 充电器/充电块/充电头.)
