Kana Kana was loving his freedom in this role card game. Who'd have thought fate would smile his way and let him do what he wants? Sure, for some people it might have ruined the point of 'acting', but Kana just wanted to have a good time anyway, with or without the worry of trying to act a part. ...

░ ⚒️ ░ Iroha admits to being judgmental at times. When she’s laid out facts, she uses them to make educated assumptions and often used that as a basis for judging people. To her, Kana Hamada was the usual extroverted and incredibly loud guy that never ran out of things to say. Easygoing. Carefree. And without any worries.
All of her assumptions seemed to be wrong right now as she looked up at the taller male’s more serious and gloomy expression, the exact opposite of all the things she thought about him when he first introduced himself in class. She waited patiently for him to acknowledge her and was surprised to hear his question.
❝ I was … walking back home . ❞ So she was right, something was indeed wrong. He was attentive earlier at school and right now he was he opposite of that. He seemed to be lost in his thoughts earlier when she called out to him. ❝ It’s dangerous to walk without awareness of your surroundings , Hamada-kun . I was right in front of you the whole time and you didn’t notice — you could potentially hurt people if you kept that up . ❞
❝ There’s nothing on your face but … you don’t seem to be quite alright . Did something happen in school ? If you have any worries , you should inform me or a teacher as soon as possible . ❞ He didn’t seem like the type to be bullied but he was a transferee, so there was always that possibility. He’s popular with the girls in their class so the boys could have ganged up on him. Iroha hoped not.
Kana really didn’t notice his surroundings, and while he admits to being the one at fault here, he didn’t expect the lecture even if she did seem like that type to do just that. No wonder she’s the class president. “Uh-- yeah. Sorry for that. I’ll pay more attention next time.”
He propped his glasses up, not really needing them but they made for a good accessory. “Nothing happened today, Yoshida-san. Don’t worry. Everyone was nice and welcoming, I even got free snacks today, ha ha!” True enough, it didn’t take him long to get acquainted with the people in his class as well as some of his teachers. That was a specialty of his. The perks of being a chill and out-going guy.
“Sorry if I ended up worrying ya- but don’t sweat it. I’m seriously fine.” He tried to get her to stop worrying by laughing it out and quickly changed the subject. “You said you were walking back home yeah? Mine’s along this road, too. I’ll walk you back for your troubles.”

░ ⚒️ ░ At the peaceful city of Saki, Japan, Iroha was walking back home after school. She was used to walking back on her own, but today, she had someone with her. He was a transferee that came at the last few months of their last year in high school. It was odd, but she didn’t question it. It was none of her business.
However, it became her business when she was placed in-charge of showing her around. When it was time to go-home, she noticed he was following her. He didn’t seem like the stalker type, but she refused to let her guard down. She turned around and slowed down, wanting to confront him but he simply walked pass her. This surprises her but there was no denying what she saw.
Earlier when he introduced himself, he was incredibly loud and cheerful. The sort Iroha normally didn’t bother getting acquainted with as they would clash personalities too often. But right now, the Kana Hamada she was seeing was sullen and seemed… sad.
❝ Hamada-kun ? ❞ She caught up and called out to him with a gentle tone. She won’t put aside the possibility of him being a stalker just yet, but she admits the possibility of it seemed very low as she looked at him right now. ❝ Are you alright ? ❞
Years ago, prior to moving back in Arcadia, Kana moved back to Japan with his family with hopes of things getting better if they did. It was good to be back in the land of the rising sun, but to come here because of his circumstances... that hardly was a cause to celebrate.
Still, he didn’t want to worry his parents and went along with their plan for him finish his last year of highschool at the local school-- or at least, the last remaining months. He’d rather stay at home and take care of his Ma, but even she insisted to finish his education.
And so he did. Kana acted like everything was fine and was able to power through his first day in a new environment. When classes came to an end, however, he felt the weight of it all as he walked back home. He was eager to go back home and see his mom, but he wasn’t looking forward to seeing her in her weakened state. She’d pretend everything was alright, but Kana knew better.
Kana was lost in thought as he idly walked back home when a voice interrupts his thoughts. He snapped out of the trance and realized it was his classmate and school guide. The quiet and ever so responsible class president of his class, Iroha Yoshida.
“Yo, Yoshida-san. What are you doing here?” He didn’t even notice her earlier and was genuinely surprised when she called out to him. He was about to throw some pleasantries when she caught him by surprise again. “Huh? I’m alright, thanks for asking. Is there something in my face?” He wiped both his cheeks just to be sure, feigning innocence to her question.

░ ⚡ ░ Dylas was quickly losing himself in this battle for his consciousness. He could hear Thunderbolt’s loud neighs, and with hit, his visioned darkened. Any moment now he’ll lose authority over himself, but the sound of a stranger addressing him brought him back, even for just a few extra seconds.
❝ I said get the fuck out ! Are you stupid ?! ❞ Dylas tried to get rid of him, but the stranger was just too fucking stupid and did the exact opposite. Right after yelling one last warning, the pounding in his head worsened and he falls to the ground once more, back arched as electricity started coming out of him once more.
— ( Shit. Shit. Shit! )
Thunderbolt finally did it. Dylas consciousness fades put, and electricity completely surrounded him. What once was mere animal-like characteristics started transforming. Dylas’ body started morphing into his monster form’s. Any sign of being human gone once more, and in it’s place, was the monster Thunderbolt.
It looked at its surroundings with an angered expression, sparks of electricity coming from his horn. If the stranger from earlier didn’t listen to his warning now, it was already too late. The angered and berserk Thunderbolt started rampaging and galloping in the forest, all while summoning strikes of thunder all around it.
Refusing to leave an injured man in the middle of a monster infested forest, Kana ignored the warnings given to him. Little did he know that was his only chance to get out, and soon enough, strange shit started happening right in front of him.“What in the world...”
Kana stared as the transformation happened in front of him. The strange man that just insulted him collapsed and started shooting electricity everywhere! Kana ducked and covered just in time to not get hit, and when he took another look to check up on the stranger, he started... morphing. Kana didn’t know how to describe it, but it was like nothing he’s ever seen before-- he turned into a blue unicorn!
“E-easy there, bud. Easy. I’m not gonna hu-- hey!” Kana tried to go for the kinder way out, but the gigantic blue unicorn was too provoked and headed straight for him! As if that wasn’t troublesome enough, he seemed to have control over thunder.
Kana did his best to dodge every strike thrown at him, and he really didn’t want it to come down to this, but Mr. Unicorn was being too dangerous right now. They weren’t too far off from the main road, and if he starts rampaging out into the city, who knows what could happen?
So he hides behind a tree and thinks of a plan to handle this mess. He grips on his spear tightly and prepared to strike back, thinking that if he could just knock him out long enough to stop him from electrocuting the entire forest, maybe he can think of a way to get him back.
Maybe he was just like the Hulk?
“I’m sorry, bud. But I’m doing this for you.” Kana didn’t even know his name but he was determined to send him. Obviously the man had no control over this if he was warning Kana to leave earlier, so he’ll just have to hope knocking the unicorn out will turn him back into a human
He dashes forward, getting close enough to the rampaging unicorn to strike him with his spear in an upward slash.

He talked a lot. It was possible that he wasn’t breathing between sentences, just spilling out as many words as possible before he ran out of breath. And for someone like her that barely spoke more than two words with strangers, it was a little impressive. If only she was born with that social strength.
“No, I don’t mind.”
She hadn’t had someone talk this much to her in some time, excluding her co-workers. But who else were they to talk to when the shops were slow or the customers were busy? She often doubted they were talking to her for her personality and exciting life stories.
“I work a lot, so I don’t have the time during the day either. I’m more of a night person, too.”
“Sweet! Can’t help it at times, ya know? You’re a pretty chill person.” He lets out sigh of relief, glad the person at the other end of the springs didn’t seem to mind his rambles.
“I’d pour one out for us, but all that’s here is water, ha ha! I keep telling my friends to take it easy but I can’t follow the same advice." He splashed some water around, idly flicking it as he talked. “Can’t say I’m a night person, but I don’t really have a choice. Some nights I’m still working, too. It’s a bar in Arcadia, if you happen to know it. Totally recommending it if you’re into jazz music.”

“Iluka.”
She smiled. She couldn’t forget that customer service was everything while on the clock, regardless if they were trying to sneak a recipe or two out.
“It’s nice to meet a soon to be regular, Kana. I can tell it’ll happen~”
Iluka.
A foreign yet pretty name that suited the confident chef in front of Kana. Maybe if he gets lucky he can’t get more than just her name, but for now, that would do.
“You don’t need to foretell that. I’m definitely gonna come here a lot ♪” He hummed, admitting that from the looks of things he WILL become a regular here.
With the introductions done, and Kana content with his meal, he doesn’t disturb her further. A busy cafe meant a busy chef, and since she seemed to be taking the waitress duties too, he figured she had a lot on her plate.
He digs into his meal once more, relishing every bite. Once he was done, he made sure to give a good bye to the chef that served him this delicious food, already excited to drop by again.
What was the phrase she used before? “Mahalo for the food, Iluka~♪ See you next time, yeah?”
And with that, he leaves out 2,000G for the food and an extra 165G for a tip. He wasn’t very well off yet and he wanted to give more, but if he wanted to come eat here again he should save for money.

Service with a Smile || Dirk & Kana
pxstalservice:
[ ✉ ] — “Wha—” Dirk gawks at the bills, or more specifically where they’d been placed. Did Kana put them there, or… okay. Maybe he was a little jealous. Just a little. “Pffft, must be nice to skate by on your looks, huh? Not all us guys are blessed with the guns or buns to draw wandering eyes.”
He leans forward, elbow propped up on the table as he waves his own bills around. “The REAL skill lies in charm and charisma! Personality! Heart!” He pats his chest for emphasis, “As long as you’ve got that, you don’t need a pretty face or a hot bod.”
Dirk doesn’t at all mind Kana’s tendency to ramble, or his lack of respect for personal space. He was pretty much the same way, and always found it nice to be around someone who could relate. It was a breath of fresh air from his actual brother, who always scolded him for those sorts of things. So when Kana throws an arm around him and comments on their lack of love lives, he laughs.
“See, now what did I say about relying on those looks? Obviously I’m gonna have to teach you a thing or two about picking up dates.” Not that Dirk, the guy’s whose never been in a serious relationship in his life, knew much about that. But Kana…
He grows a bit more serious at the thought, “Seriously, though. How are you still single, man? I remember how people were all over you back in our school days, and then there’s the Little Miss Bun Lover over at your favorite table, too… I figured getting a date would be a piece of cake for you.”
“If you got, you got it. Besides, if you got both, that just makes it all the more better~” Kana was being smug about it but he totally understood what Dirk meant. It was harder to gauge if people liked him for his personality or his biceps. The latter was always an ego-boost, but its the former that matters at the end of the day.
“Okay then Mr. Dating Guru. Lay it on me, give me those pro tips you’ve been hiding.” Kana scoffed, fully aware of Dirk’s current relationship status. He wasn’t doing a very good job himself, but Kana was sure he was in the same boat as him. They just weren’t looking for anything serious at the moment.
“Hey, hey, it’s not for a lack of trying, ya know? I’m scouting around~ Guess I’m just not in a rush to be tied down. Yet.” Kana paused for a while and raised a hand, enumerating the people he thought of when asked about dating.
“My roommate’s hot. Scary, but hot. My favorite chef is a real cutie and she makes THE BEST curry in the island! My bosses are pretty fiesty-- you know how I always like those types, he he. ‘Cept one of ‘ems taken and both of them are good friends. I don’t think I wanna risk dating my boss too, ya know? Could get messy. And there’s Alisa-- but she’s like, a sister, yeah?! You don’t date your sister figures.”
After his mini gamble about the women his life, Kana turned to Dirk and tried not to laugh as an amusing thought passes by him. “I should just date you and solve all my problems right here~ c’mere, bro ♥” He makes loud kissing sounds, the arm weighing down on Dirk used to give him half a hug.

“Aloha, Kana~”
If he kept coming this often, he might become fluent before he knew it. But she appreciated that he tried to pick up on small words and phrases and use them in his next visits. It showed a genuine interest or like in her culture, which sadly was hard to find when moving away from her traditional home. People often treated it as a theme for parties and not as a culture.
And before she could offer his usual order, he offered her a bouquet of peonies. While she knew that she had given him the best food of his life, as she did with everyone else on the island, she didn’t do well with unexpected gifts. There were some that she could see coming like a flower festival or her birthday, but randomly for White Day?
She accepted the bouquet and quickly turned to get them water as she felt her cheeks heat up. It wasn’t anything special, but it didn’t help that he was kind of cute or whatever. Once the flowers were placed in a vase and she composed herself, she returned with a smile and a prepared dish in her hand.
“Mahalo for the flowers! I had a feeling you’d stop by today to eat and those were a surprise. I won’t give you a discount, but I might have added an extra portion.”
Kana handed out the flowers to Iluka with a smug little grin. He only caught a glimpse of it but she was definitely blushing!
He waited at his usual spots in the cafe, eyes opening wide in delight when Iluka comes back with food.
“Am I really that predictable?” He lets out a short hearty laugh and anticipated the dish she prepared like an excitable child. Being predictable wasn’t all that bad if it meant getting a meal like this! “Alright! You’re the best, Iluka ♥ I should send you flowers every day he he ♪”
That was silly considering it would cost more, but even those flowers weren’t enough for the treatment he gets at Carosello Cafe. He happily digs in to the meal, eagerness to eat it just the same as when he ate it for the first time. He’d never get tired of this ♥

This had to be the easiest delivery of her day. It was the beauty of working with someone almost every day when they had two jobs in common. She was his boss, then he was hers. It was odd how that worked out after he took over the Rehabilitation Center, but she knew he would do wonders with it.
“These are you for! I appreciate you, bud!”
With a smile, she held out a red alstroemeria, a yellow gerbera, and a sunflower.
Hearing Agate call out to him was pretty common for Kana. They had each others back at work and it made for a pretty productive and interesting dynamic. He turns right around to answer, but finds flowers handed out to him instead. Was this for the festival? “Awww, you shouldn’t have, Agate! I appreciate you too~♪”
He didn’t have any flowers on hand right now, but he does have a whole lotta love to give. So she lifts her up for big, bear hug, laughing as he does.

It’s a good thing she had plenty of time to prepare for this holiday, unlike the previous festival. Kana was kind enough to give her something in spirit of the festivities, and she’s overwhelmingly happy to finally return the sentiment with something more traditional to the islands. It’s imperative Kana gets one of her first letters, as he comes first in many other aspects of her life often.
Brother Bear,
My world is dark without you, but only because your presence is a light in my life I could never replace. If I had to express what you mean to me, I could fill a book with all the things I love about you, so I’ll try to keep it short and simple:
I appreciate you, I adore you, I love you and I love you and I love you.
~ Lisa.
This letter is one she’s drawn with horses and unicorns aligning the page, just as a personal touch and some creativity to make it more her own. If she could staple her heart to the paper and send it to him she absolutely would, he has a piece of it regardless.
The next delivery he got was from Alisa, and it was the sweetest thing. Bright and orange flowers paired with his favorite sunflowers. From the flowers alone he wanted to drop by the church and give her a good ol hug, but once he started reading the letter, he felt heat rise to his face, embarrassment taking over. He let his guard down for that one and it hit hard.
Why are you so cute?!
“Ah, geez.” He could physically feel his heart melt from the sweetness of Alisa’s message. The drawings were a cute touch too.
He sends her back a pink and peach rose, far simpler than the bouquet she got for him, but he was running low on cash so this will have to do.
Hey Lil Bear,
Could you be any cuter?!
You’re the sweetest person I know, and these flowers aren’t much, but it’s fits you just right. If anyone’s the light of anyone’s life, it’s you, you silly little flower.
Never change, yeah? Big bro’s always here, don’t you forget that~♪
I love you, too.

rxzberries:
[🐎] — “So… I should quit with the excuses and just do it, right?” She scoffs with some amusement, finding a perfectly valid point in his words. Ever since she took ownership of the pet shop and ranch, most of her life had been made up of work and responsibilities. Sure, she found the time to edge in a break here and there, but her job and obligation to her animals had become first priority.
But Kana was right. Time waited for no one, and there was only so much of it that they had. It was better for her to do the things she wanted, to spend time with the people important to her, while she still could.
She looks to Dakota, now twenty years young, and gives a melancholic smile. As much as she might have wanted it to, their time wouldn’t last forever. Not hers, or Dakota’s, or anyone else’s. Maybe it was time for her to visit her dad again soon…
Geez, why did she need Kana of all people to remind her of something so fundamentally simple? She shakes her head at her own silliness, and smiles at his suggestion. It wouldn’t be as good as speaking with them herself, but it would be nice to update his parents on how she was doing. “Sure. That sounds good to— h-hey!”
Before she knows it, he’s slinging his arm around her shoulder, and Georgia glares up as she feels herself suddenly weighed down by his heavy build. Yeesh. He definitely put on more muscle in the time he was gone. “Alright, alright… but you better be ready to work hard, got it? I’m not gonna leave this place in the care of someone who’s just gonna half-ass it.”
Georgia looks over to Hayate when he does, her eyes growing softer. It was easy to forget that Hayate was about as old as Dakota now… she still looked so vibrant and young like her darling, which was a testament to the care and love Kana gave her. As silly as he could be about it, it was clear that he truly loved that horse. ‘Course, how could you NOT love family?
“Exactly.” She agrees, casually shrugging him off. Georgia approaches Hayate and gives her a gentle pat on the snout, showing some much needed affection to another one of her oldest friends. “We’ve gotta take care of our girls — of all these horses — the right way. For as long as they’re with us.”
To her agreement, Kana couldn’t help but chuckle, letting his weight fall more on the tinier rancher. “It’s too early for a Christmas miracle but is Georgia Harper SERIOUSLY considering receiving my help and advice?! The Goddess must be feeling pretty generous today!”
“Wouldn’t have proposed it if I wasn’t ready to work hard, Boss~ don’t worry, I got ya covered.” Besides, she never would have agreed nor taken it into consideration if she doubted him. He felt lighter knowing he got through to her in that aspect, and she might not know it’s importance to him now, but it meant a great deal to him for her to understand just how crucial time was. Especially for family.
“All of the horses-- of course! We all have our favorites, but no one’s getting left behind here-- even if they do get jealous, ha ha!” That remark of his got him a moody stomp, but it just made him laugh more. It was in moments like these that made him remember how much he missed working in a ranch. The opportunity to do so again here in Arcadia was a god sent. The fact that it was a healthy choice for Hayate to stay there was a bonus, too. After all, she wasn’t an exception to his worries about the limitations of time, and she was family, too.
Hayate appreciated the gentle patting and didn’t move away. Unlike in her younger, more distrustful years, this would have caused some trouble. Watching her being cooperative now brought some relief in Kana, and just as he did, he remembers something from not too long ago. “Funny, I just remembered something-- you know Hayate takes a while to like people? She was totally smitten with this one dude I met when I first arrived here! Blew me away at the sight of it-- almost wanted to cry like a proud dad.”

Kana felt silly having something delivered to Dirk since he’s the delivery guy anyway but thankfully, City Hall has it covered so as it turns out, Kana didn’t have to feel so silly after all.
After receiving his flowers and amusing note, he just had to send one of his own. Even with the touch of humor, his message got through and Kana appreciated that.
