Julia y'all. Julia. #insidethenumbers
The New Teen Titans #2 (1980)
Writer: Marv Wolfman
Artist: George Perez
Settle your heart, child, your time will come. One of these days you will meet eyes with someone who makes you feel so at home in the world you will think to yourself, Ah, there you are.
Beau Taplin • A P a t i e n t H e a r t (via afadthatlastsforever)
The magicians + fuck (2/?)
Like Julia herself said, “And for another thing it wasn’t a hallucination. It fucking happened.”
(MIDDAY SWIM)
“Can we just cut to the part where we go to another world - and skip the whole guilt and recriminations bit?”
If only.
To remember love after long sleep; to turn again to poetry after a year in the market place, or to youth after resignation to drowsy and stiffening age; to remember what once you thought life could hold, after telling over with muddied and calculating fingers what it has offered; this is music, made after long silence. The soul flexes its wings, and, clumsy as any fledgling, tries the air again.
Merlin, from Mary Stewart’s The Hollow Hills (via wishingforserenity)

Just as the X-Men close in on Mesmero, Magneto reemerges having relentlessly pursued the team since defeating them in Scotland. Well Mags, Pheonix wasn’t along for the trip that time. Good luck with this. (X-Men #111 – June 1978)
One of the single greatest splash pages ever produced. Certainly a high point of the Byrne/Austin run. Chilling and brilliant.
We are now on issue #125 of the Uncanny X-Men. It’s been two full years since Jean transformed into the Phoenix in issue #101 and there’s been nary a hint that it could lead to horrible things. In this issue both Moira and Professor X finally start to get concerned, but neither of them know what to do about it. This is great stuff!! (Uncanny X-Men #125 – Sept 1979)
I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for Dazzler, otherwise known as the worst X-Man. When I started reading the series in the 80s, I didn’t know any better. She seemed as zany and weird as anyone else on the team. And she was always with Longshot who was pretty cool… oh my god I was a stupid child. (The Uncanny X-Men #130 - Feb 1980)
