Sorry I forgot how to draw again, it was like half a year or something.
This dork will sleep anywhere but next to player. And apparently I imagine him more buff than he really is, I opened his reference picture only AFTER finishing a body sketch. He looks so puny in game lol. Also stuffed his ears with tissues because seeing dried blood on him irritated me through the entire playthrough. LET ME WIPE IT.
Cross-posting my review of the game "Sons of the Forest" from my Steam account because I asked, I care.
Please share your opinions about the game, I'm interested in reading YOUR game experience. Also don't forget to say where my opinion is wrong and totally not objective /gen /npa

As someone who hasn't played "The Forest"
Is it a fun survival game with two sidekicks to help you in your journey and keep you entertained? YES.
Is it a good game that tries to tell you an interesting story? Sadly, no.
At first I wanted to write a good review, but then I thought - would I have enjoyed the process as much if Kelvin was not in the game? The answer is no. I really liked building my base, exploring the island, crafting, looking at Kelvin, cooking, even just spearfishing. It was relaxing and fun. The graphics are beautiful too!
But then there's a storyline. It took me 100+ hours to finish it because it hasn't hooked me AT ALL. It's just straight up boring. The way they tell it to you is tedious. Go from cave to cave, from bunker to bunker, then bam you can't go further because you hasn't visit some another cave. What hinted that you should visit this cave before proceeding further? Nothing. That one door forced me to open a guide because I had no idea what I was doing wrong. My mistake was in not visiting another random cave. Wrap it up. I could tolerate it for the first time, but it wasn't the first.....
Overall "cinematoghrapghy" is just awkward. Weird animations in cutscenes, BAD locations/level desigh, ridiculous voice acting, etc. It feels like they didn't care about the story themselves, something like "Eh, nobody will go here anyway, leave it like this" type of vibe. I WANT to enjoy it, I WANT to be invested, but the game itself doesn't. SOME cutscenes just don't make any sense. I physically can't take the game events seriously when the characters in front of me are saying their lines in plainest way possible. I couldn't hold my laugh.
The ending is....well, it was one of the endings I had seen for sure. Blink once and you'll miss it.
I'm dissapinted and sad. They had a budget and I'm not entirely sure where it went.
If you want to play a pretty relaxing survival game alone or with your friends - go for it, it's a solid choice (but maybe try to wait for sale...).
If you want to play a game that will hold you on the edge of your seat with its story and setting - maybe search for something else...
Owerall, it was nice 136 hours of gameplay, but I simply refuse to get blinded by pretty graphics and building mechanics. I think negative reviews are good for every game's ecosystem. I hope it doesn't look like plain hatepost.
I will probably make some game-inspired scetches later :)
Guys, boys kissing is cool and all, but do you know what else is cool?
Ranting about headcanons about Mate aka Wireface!!!!!!!
Because I can't stop thinking about who he was before the game events and I'm not normal about this, boys kissing isn't enough for me, I yearn for the knowledge and history
> A scion of Tbilisi's creative intelligentsia. His parents work in translation/writing/filmmaking; Raised in a creative environment, he followed in their footsteps to become like them, like a stage director for example. Has a deep love for everything beautiful. Including photography.
> Being kid, he was spared from typical childhood physical injuries – no falls, broken bones or fights. He grew up in a world of ideas and metaphor, not the literal verse of street violence.
> He was raised with a certain view of Russians as barbarians, as his parents remembered the events of 1956 (the Soviet military's suppression of student demonstrations in Georgia) and the later 1985 brutally suppressed 'Wine and Vodka' Riots in Tbilisi, triggered by Gorbachev's anti-alcohol campaign.
> However, his family loved Russian literature and music. Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev played during some spare midday time.
> Despite his family, little Mate was still growing up surrounded by Soviet "Friendship of the Peoples" propaganda, which shaped his worldview. He was friends with children of other nationalities, studied with them, and attended the same camps.
> It was likely at one of these camps that he met that one friend, the one he would keep in touch with for a long time and mention in the future. The friend must have had Russian roots, since after the USSR's collapse he remained in Russia.
> While growing up, he solidified a belief: the friendship of peoples exists above the heads of politicians. Russians and Georgians are one people.
> Kind and perhaps a bit infantile in his worldview.
> His parents do not support his political views, considering them childish.
> He has a creative, perhaps slightly rebellious youthful mindset, fully embracing his difference from his fellow countrymen, especially since his appearance doesn't fit the stereotypical "ardent Georgian man" caricature. Maybe around this time of self-acceptance he dyes his hair that freaking ugly aubergine (beautiful, love it actually) – a "when it rains it pours" kind of commitment or insert something about woman going through a trauma and going bald as a sign of making it through
> One summer after the USSR's collapse, he decides to visit his friend for any reason. Hasn't finished university yet.
> His sugar-coated faith in the kindness of Russians shatters against the rising level of "gopota" in 90s Russia, in other words – street crime and tough guys. And game events also ofc.
> Alas, xenophobia was always there. Insults like "churka", "khachik" (racial slurs), and others aren't new and were pretty widely used back then.
> Somehow controversial opinion, but I think his stitches are not neatly-done at all! Quite the opposite, really crookedly, done more for humiliation. Such stitches could be made with a leather needle, which an "average citizen" might well have had.
> In my interpretation, this was a hate crime, not a prepared procedure by someone. A trusting little mouse walked right into the cat's paws, thinking it wouldn't be eaten. Just unlucky to run into the wrong group of people on the street...
> Plus, let's not forget he himself looked a bit... let's say, not quite the stereotypical natural man of that time.
> Despite the incident, he hasn't lost faith that not everyone is like that, that's just his core.
>So this post isn't all about politics and history, I'll add that I think most of the time he wore his hair in a ponytail, which is why it has that characteristic bend from the hair tie.
> And he absolutely carried a notebook for quick sketches and storyboards, at least until he got (most probably) mugged (beside...being beaten).
> Also a tummy full of khinkali :p
I made a little picture below that I think suits my headcanons and incident about him bleh okay I'm out. Rate this post from one to ten 'wtf-are-you-talking-about's
Waiting for the train, taking a snack and checking his ticket.

Yippee, Mate aka Foreigner before the trauma *jumps happily*
He has socks on I promise
At first I wanted to do a more 'complete' work with colors and background, but something happened in the process aaand now we have this :') Not really happy with it, gonna make another one later (a FULL one this time, orrr at least I will try).
Я не хочу с картошкой мне нужен беляш, беляш какую самсу я хочу беляш
My headcanon is that Curly invited Jimmy to the snowboarding park once, paying for it ofc. I think Jimmy wouldn't have enough patience to really learn anything, before that thinking that it would be more easy. He would be just really cold and tired of watching Curly and others easily snowboarding.
Yeah it's lazy looking, I'm not really put much effort at this, but I still like it. Snowboards and shoes are pain in the ass my guys
How it would go. I like thinking that he spent more time wallowing in the snow than standing up right
