Here we go again
I'm really tired right now and will probably find a ton of stuff I should've done better with this one, but that's tomorrow me's problem. I think I almost forgot how to paint backgrounds, it's been so long.
There are some pieces in which the more we work on, the worse it gets, and I have the feeling this one of those.
A gift for a friend of mine. Her character in Caine's outfit.
A Midnight Order scout on reconnaissance duty. Part of a personal project.
I’ve always enjoyed Zullie’s content, so now that she has created her own persona, I felt it was a good opportunity to draw her, especially since I kinda dig the character design.
On a side note, what might Estus taste like?
"Quick" sketch
I've been playing megaman again lately, and I felt a little bit compelled to draw something from that universe. There are some cool designs going on there, but in the end, I decided to draw one of the operators.
Another experiment of sorts. Frankly, it turned out a lot better than I thought it would. This is a character from a collaborative comic I did with some friends a long time ago.
I just came up with this character design to practice some stuff, but now that the painting is done, it feels like a waste not to use her in a project.
I sketched this character in like, 10 minutes, really liked the concept, and then spent an embarrassing amount of hours trying to capture the same energy the sketch had in the final lineart. It's also probably the last of these concept sheets I've been working on recently. I really feel like I need to start working on more challenging and complete illustrations again.
The original plan was to color this one, but I wanted to see how it would look with "a little hatching" and things got out of control. I still plan on coloring it, though it might take a while.
"I'm not a furry, BUT..." I wanted to mess around with a color scheme that stayed mostly in the midtones and highlights, but I don't think I achieved what I was going for.. My guess is that the black lineart threw me off when I started picking values, next time I'll try going without it.
Drew another a festive avatar, they are always fun... Maybe I should make one for myself too?
I'm the type of person that usually draws a character first and then tries to fit them into the narrative. This makes for situations in which, like this character, I get a design that I really like, but the character won't appear at all in the story (at least not directly). It's been a while since I last drew a complete scene. I've been working a lot on these character concepts lately (and I quite enjoy it), but I feel I should work on something else for the sake of variety.
A quick sketch that I cleaned up a bit. I need to draw more character interactions, it's always fun.
I really regret not making her wear a damn shirt or something... But then again, I wasn't planning on sharing this painting either.
