A Day In Heaven || Daniel(itwasntanillusion) and Regina
"Ah. Pilot light. Right." His lips stumbled over the unfamiliar words then eased into a familiar smile as her hand touched his arm.
For a moment, he forgot about the breakfast he was meant to be cooking - the bacon yet to sizzle, the eggs still resting nestled in their cartons - and leaned towards her, brushing her hair out of her face. ”I missed—”
This.
All of this.
Being
h e r e.
“—you.”
It would be far too easy to fall into what once they had - so easy he could feel the instinct even now - but there were years missed; he felt the weight of them in the molecules spinning around them, in whatever magic brought him back, kept him here. He’d forced himself to stay, to watch, because she endured and he could not help—-
He was not sure he could be what she believed he was.
But that did not spur the smile from its place, firm and unshaken. He reached for the skillet, flipping it in one hand before placing it on the burner. ”Is there anything you would prefer first, milady?”
She felt her breath catch in her throat at that simple touch form him. The gently push of hair from her face. She couldn't no just stare in his eyes. Where an untold story lay. Where there where so many thing neither of them where saying.
She let her head nuzzle into his hand for the briefest of seconds before he took it back and started cooking. Her smiled growing as she heard his voice talking to her.
She would prefer him. To kiss him. but she kept that to herself. "Anything you wish to make will be perfect. You know.. I could always make you something." She moved closer to him. "I've gotten really good at cooking."
