"What Did The First Warrior Say To The Great Spirit"
The following passage is from the TV show Longmire, spoken by Henry Standing Bear (played by Lou Diamond Philips). This is a powerful quote, dealing with the importance of one’s loyalty to their family and loved ones.
The First Warrior looked out on the land and his Home. He saw the hills
And the stars
And he was happy.
For giving him his home, the first warrior told the Great Spirit
That he would fight and win many battles in His honor.
But the Great Spirit said, “No, do not fight for me.
Fight for your tribe,
Fight for the family born to you,
Fight for the brothers you find.”
“Fight for them,” the Great Spirit said, “for they are your Home.”

Ian Rants About: The Weaboo Problem
This one's a bit of a personal rant/bitch for me about a problem that I've noticed the entire time I've spent at university. If any of my two followers are easily offended, they might not want to read further.
My sensei (otherwise known as my Japanese professor) complained on Facebook because a student completely disregarded a pop quiz to ask questions about the anime club. He had no inkling about hiragana, let alone basic vocabulary. This is but one of many stories my sensei has.
I've met quite a few people like this in my own intro classes. You know the type (I am not referring to the anime fan as a whole, but a very specific subset). They think Japan is the best country ever, though you know they've never done research beyond the narrow field of what they consider "Japanese."
But they couldn't give a rat's ass about learning the actual language. I mean, really. You're going to sit and play your Japanese game on the DS before class starts, but you can't even learn something as basic as the alphabet?
So why do they bother? When did my ancestral language and culture become some sort of cosmetic item for white people to use to seem more worldly? It's widely seen as taboo to learn a language to earn that result but why is it so casually accepted with Japanese?
If you're not going to put in effort to learn and treat my heritage with respect, all you are doing is making an idiot of yourself and embarrassing us.
One time I was playing The Sims. My kid had a soccer game, and while the teams were huddled up, I changed to buy mode and put washing machines around the opposing team, enclosing them within their detergent scented prison. Thanks to my ingenious strategy, my child’s team was able to take the ball from the opposite goalie and score repeatedly. By the time the clock ran out, we were up 46-0, and the opposing team was sobbing in puddles of their own piss. I am the best soccer mom.

Ian Whines About: "Why am I here?"
So I finally picked up blogging again because maybe I'll end up with those fancy Tumblr's with the 2 billion gifs and the never-ending scrolling that makes your computer get a hernia from the strain. Can you believe my sister had 15 tabs of these pages open? FIFTEEN. And she was wondering why her browser was slow as molasses. Naturally it was somehow my fault and I didn't know what I was talking about.
Anyways, I have my top researchers seeking to figure out what attracts people and how to make my profile all pretty-like. I expect to have a solution by the year 2020.
Here are some fun sketches based on the Wuxia film, “The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate.” I had a ton of fun doing these. And the movie is lots of fun - check it out on Netflix.
