New World Heavyweight Champion: It's about damn time!
21-0
Wrestlemania 29
Wrestlemania!
So been sitting about today reading lots of other peoples views on last nights Wrestlemania. Made me want to come back to this blog, which I seem to keep losing interest in quite quickly again after motivating myself to keep at it! But this time around I'll try harder!
My overall view on Wrestlemania was that it was a very very solid PPV. There were no matches that anyone could say were bad matches. But the thing that got me was that there were no surprises, no returns, no Ziggler cash in, no backstage comedy skits with legends. Which didn't give it a 'big event' feel. Felt like any other normal PPV with some fireworks and in a bigger venue. All seemed a bit rushed and disjointed and I donno what it was it just didn't seem and feel right.
I think for me MOTM was Punk/Undertaker (totally shit myself when Taker teased the suicide dive!) followed not to far behind by Lesnar/HHH. The latter seems to be getting some negative reviews. But for me, I loved it. Lesnar is just a monster and he is just awesome. I knew HHH was going to win so had already gotten over that disappointment going in, so just sat back and really enjoyed it.
Also, loved The Shield winning. Very excited about these 3 guys futures. Just brilliant as a team and have so much potential and talent between them that they could all make it on their own too.
Been kind of slacking off again here recently.
But last night I really enjoyed Elimination Chamber. Was a very solid show!
Del Rio v Big Show - Another very good and solid match between these 2. I was never a fan of Del Rio as a heel, but since he's turned face he's grabbed my attention and im actually been liking him.
The Miz v Cesaro - Love Cesaro. So much potential there. He can be such a star and go along way. Enjoyed this match. Liked the injury storyline aspect to it.
The Chamber Match - Was really great. Was kind of worried about it. But turned out be be solid. Mark Henry was brilliant. He's so believable as a full on monster heel. Everyone put on good shows. The sequences off moves that lead up to the end by Y2J and Orton was brilliant as well. Swagger winning makes sense too. Think his feud with Del Rio will be fun.
The Shield v Cena/Ryback/Sheamus - Holy shit this was awesome. Seriously how fucking good are The Shield. Absolutely loved this match and totally love The Shield! Totally marked out when they won!
Ziggler v Kingston - Being a big fan of Ziggler im glad he made it on the card. Was a solid match and the ending gave Big E something to do as well. Maybe a future Kofi/Langston feud here?
Divas match - Tbh I kind of didn't pay much attention to this one. So no opinion on it. My bad.
The Rock v CM Punk - I donno it was just cause I was tired. But felt this one lacked something and was kind of disappointed in the quality of the match. I love that The Rock one. Been going off Punk a lot recently and im glad The Rock going to take the title into Wrestlemania. Will be interesting to see who Punk goes against at 'Mania though. Maybe we'll see something tonight on RAW.
So yeah. The Royal Rumble.
Overall I enjoyed it as a whole. Thought it was a really solid show. I didn't particularly like Cena winning The Rumble. But at the end of the day I suppose it made sense. I was rooting for Ziggler the whole way. But knew he wouldn't win in the end. Wouldn't of minding Ryback winning tbh either. But that never happened. Felt the Rumble match was missing something though. Not quite sure what though.
I know there has been quite a stir about the ending of the main event. But I really enjoyed it. Being a huge Rock fan and I've not been a fan of Punk for ages now. So I liked it.
Royal Rumble tonight! Yes!
Im excited. It's my favourite show. So can't wait.
I really want Ziggler to win. But doubt it's happening. Looking forward to some surprises though and hopefully a good showing from Ziggler and also want The Shield to impress again.
Also, The Rock v Punk is going to awesome! The Rock to win!
So yeah.. I've not been doing very well so far at keeping this blog up to date. My bad.
But yeah. I was at the TNA Glasgow house show on Wednesday night. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed the show a lot!
Suprise of the night was Marty Scruil. I thought he looked brilliant and looked like a star! Really surprised me that he didn't win Bootcamp. Suppose Spuds good too. But thought Marty looked a lot better going off that showing.
Match of the night was Aries/Storm/Roode. Very very good match! Was great seeing Kaz and Daniels again and they were dressed up in kilts and were just gold throughout there whole match.
Read about the tapings as well and they sound really good shows. Really can't wait to see them on TV.
Looks like overall it was a very successful tour for TNA. Tickets for next year go on sale tomorrow and definitely going to pick up Glasgow tickets and then see later on in the year about finances to go to one of the England shows (if they don't sell out).
About..
to head to Glasgow for TNA Maximum Impact show!
Can't wait!
So it's the final of British Bootcamp tonight at 10 in a double episode!
Unfortunately I will be out tonight and going to miss the show live. But going to make sure I watch it tomorrow before I head to Glasgow for TNA show.
Tbh I think Spud might win. But overall I think all 4 will be signed eventually. Think they could all add something to TNA.
Jeff Hardy & The UK Tour
Bit late to comment on this but going to anyways:
Im not one of these people that have been moaning on FB about advertising and buying tickets only to see Hardy. My only annoyance about this situation is that TNA really built up the World Title when Roode was champion and made it something that felt really special and important (like it should be) but now it looks stupid cause it's going to be off TV for 4 shows in the build up to Lockdown. They had the opportunity to give the Title to Aries, Roode or Daniels recently. All 3 would of been great champions throughout the UK Tour.
Nonetheless im still really looking forward to tomorrows show in Glasgow. Looks like they'll be a good roster there as well.
Speaking of the TNA UK Tour. Anyone else attending any of the events?
I'll be at the Glasgow show. Gutted im missing the taping events. Was at London last year and it was great. But will be good to see them on TV and the UK crowds are always awesome.
