Nobamaki and Yamifin with Performing Gender

Nobara and Yami being more traditional. They both typically present as their gender indicates they would, though Nobara is more intentional about her hyperfemininity because she’s found that it’s what she enjoys while Yami doesn’t give it much thought and is just Like That.

Nobara’s presentation has more to do with her fashion than personality since she’s definitely not afraid of confrontation or acting a bit like a delinquent. A lot of her ideas of femininity came from Saori, so she emulates her in ways like speech and body language (in relaxed settings at least). It’s also interesting that Nobara does care how she’s perceived by strangers, but mainly because she wants them to view her inline with how she wants to be seen, not because she feels forced to present a certain way.

Most men act hypermasculinly because they’re afraid of social judgement if they don’t, but again, Yami doesn’t really give a shit about what strangers think of him so that’s just what’s authentic for him. It’s interesting too how he doesn’t ascribe to the toxic mindset that usually comes with the hypermasculine performance, like not accepting anyone’s help ever or getting outrageously offended when someone questions him, instead he’s very realistic and straightforward when it comes to issues and will listen to others’ valid concerns.

Maki and Finral deviating from standard. Neither is the opposite of what you’d expect, but they don’t ascribe to the ‘norm’ either. In terms of presentation, they both have a mixture of masculine and feminine traits.

Maki will still wear skirts and she kept her hair long but her physical presentation is typically dictated by efficiency, same with her language being blunt and unrestrained. It’s authentic and simply what she’s prioritized, but there’s also the fact she’d already rejected her clan’s expectations of her femininity and that plays a part in her presentation as well.

Similarly, Finral doesn’t seem to deviate much from expectations at a glance, it’s the way he speaks and acts that doesn’t line up with typical masculine standards. He uses softer language, he’s not at all confrontational, and he’s not afraid to outwardly show how he feels. He cares what others think but wounded pride doesn’t make him aggressive like with a lot of other guys, he doesn’t feel the need to compensate ego with anger and instead uses charm to hide any insecurity.

I hate when people make out Hiccup's bullying to be way worse than it was.

Like no they were not beating him up every day be so fr, they were mostly just ignoring him. And when they were making fun of him it was mostly when he messed something up.

Snotlout was NOT actively going out of his way to ruin his day, i seriously don't think he cared that much.

Book Snotlout, sure. He was THE WORST. But movie Snotlout was not doing all that.

As for the others Astrid and Fishlegs were pretty much just not getting involved and the twins probably didn't think of it much because they are idiots so Snotlout is the only one there i would really call a bully and you have only Spitelout to blame for his behavior.

I'm not trying to say that Hiccup being outcasted his whole childhood "wasn't that bad" but let's not villainize a bunch of kids who didn't want to be friends with a guy who all the adults in the village criticized all the time.

The entire point of the first movie is that when Stoick and all the other adults didn't listen to Hiccup and went for the nest anyway, the gang was ON HIS SIDE.

They listened to him and trusted him to lead them to fight the red death after they saw what he did in the Arena even though he was disowned at the time. That was the first time they thought for themselves and chose to fight by Hiccup's side even though their parents would probably disapprove of it.

If that had gone wrong and Stoick hadn't regreted what he said and decided to banish Hiccup anyway they would have been banished with him.

So no, they didn't "switch up" they thought for themselves and broke the cycle of violence which is like the whole point of the movie, the new generation changing the world.

art, for-literally-ever has put snakes in space. like around planets, moons, or more moderly, traveling through galaxys and black holes, I have no idea why people have always done this is literally cannot find a reason any where sadly.😭

Also I think finral would love snakes, and have thought that sense before noticing the snakes in space patter.

For the other two there supposed to be a moon and sun but with swirls to kind-of give off the vibes of finrals funky mana, originally the moons swirls had the color sceme of it to but I scraped that and just went with the classic green the moon is normally draw with.

So the snake is the only one with somewhat of a meaning, also i had more ideas for more tats but I decided not to put them sense they wouldn't look good on his legs🫠
