Probably way to old for all this fangirling I do but hey, who's it hurting? Reading was always one of my favorite things to do growing up. It's a good escape from dealing with real life. Deaf since, well, as long as I can remember. Reading let me escape and actually feel like I belonged. Harry Potter was my first series that I fell in love with. Followed quickly with numerous other stories I can not even remember the name of. During high-school I found Vampire Academy, so you could say I always leaned towards the fantasy side of literature. High school was also the time my hearing took its quickest dive and eventually led to me receiving a cochlear implant on my left side. With the rise of streaming networks and the internet becoming more and more easy to access and understand, I kind of fell away from reading throughout my 20s. Also, I fell away from doing things I enjoy, such as writing (not very well) and role-playing (not sure if anyone remembers the days of chatzy).
Recently I started making an effort to read again, even if it was rereading stuff from my younger years that make me happy. I was greatful to receive a kindle for my birthday this year and with it came the 3 month long subscription of Kindle Unlimited. Scrolling through it I discovered Fourth Wing, which has been on my to read list for the past couple of years. Just never found the time or energy to give it a try. So I figured, why not? Needless to say the rest was history and I was instantly hooked managing to read all 3 within a week and a half. Now I'm rereading it and falling even more in love with the characters and lore.
So welcome to my little corner of the continent, pull up a chair, and buckle up. I'm glad you're here đ . My inbox is always open for questions, conversations, or anything. Outside of Tumblr, you can add me on Discord at hearingisdecieving, though I'm still figuring discord out so just send me a request and a message and I'll get to you asap!
