“Ever go to the skate park?” She asked, recalling the many days and nights she’d spend sitting on the hard cement, its surface beating against the sunlight’s heat as it sent it wafting back up towards the clouds. She could almost hear the multitudinous sounds of skateboard wheels rolling against the ground, swinging closer or further away; the clack of them whacking back against the park after a trick had been performed.
“Nice, man… I mean, I don’t really listen to The Beatles, but that’s fuckin’ awesome, y’know?”
A soft, fond smile settled upon her lips as she nodded, recalling countless sleepless nights during which she would plug her headphones into her father’s old record player and carefully let the needle land upon the tracks embedded into the vinyl. It drew a sigh from her lungs, one full of longing.
“Well, shit, if it doesn’t have t’be realistic, I wanna, like… Write fortune cookie shit, y’know? But… Right, so, like– y’know how it’s always shit like, I don’t know, whatever, weird, positive stuff? Imagine crackin’ open one of those babies and reading shit like, in two days, a bird will shit on you. That’d be fuckin’ awesome, man.” Frankie snorted, imagining the various atrocities that she could slip into the treat, unbeknownst to the poor victims who would be unfortunate enough to come across her unique predictions.
“Well, sure, okay.” She couldn’t complain, Brea’s home was far cosier than hers, and the pizza hadn’t even been delivered yet, “we gonna braid each other’s hair and do each other’s fuckin’ manicures or some shit?”
"I did actually, I had a little summer fling with a skater.. his name was like Jason or something..” she laughed, it had been along time since those days. She loved it there though, the beach, the warm weather, the smell of the ocean and he constant list of things to do. “Maybe we should take a trip back there someday..” Brea grinned, thinking of the possibilities of a vacation.
Hearing the doorbell ring, Brea jumped up and grabbed her wallet, skipping towards the door. Opening the door, she smiled at the delivery boy who was shamelessly checking her out in her short shorts and ripped up tee. Once he had given her a total, $43.75,handing over a $50 as well as a $20 for a tip as he handed over the massive amount of food. Kicking the door shut with her foot since her hands were full, Brea walked back into the livingroom, placing the food on the coffee table. Hearing Frankie’s dream career, the blonde chuckled, “that’s actually genius” she told her, calling from the kitchen as she went to grab plates, napkins and ranch before returning to her spot on the couch.
“Seriously, people would buy the fuck out of those things.. I say you do it, I’d totally invest in it. People love novelty stuff like that..Imagine it, opening a fortune cookie that says ‘confucius says, you’re a dumb fuck’ it’s brilliant!” Brea chuckled, grabbing another beer and opening up the pizza box as well as the wings and cheesy bread sticks, taking a slice of pizza and dipping it into the ranch she poured on her plate before taking a big bite.
“Well duh” Brea giggled at her comments about braiding each others hair and manicures, “but we can’t forget the pillow fight where the pillows randomly rip and we dance around in feathers in our underwear” she chuckled, grabbing a hot wing as she glanced over at Frankie with a smirk.
