It's so embarrassing seeing people defend Kiss of Life. Half the girls are American. They made a post joking they hope no one unstans them for the bday theme BEFORE they went live. They weren't paying an ode to rap. They didn't just wear black hair and urban street clothes. They had soul food and fried chicken on their table and talked in blaccents. They literally showed photos of random black men as their costume "inspo." They weren't imitating rappers, just black people in general. They were wearing a stack of flat-brimmed caps to look ridiculous on purpose. Nothing about that was "rap themed," it was downright racist and the black community has every fucking right to be upset with them for it.
The people saying we're being "too sensitive" about what was clear mockery of black and latin people are just willfully ignorant because the kpop community is so desensitized to anti-blackness that when the racism is so goddamn blatant and right in front of you, you still try and pull the "culture appreciation" card. What part of that clown show demonstrated any appreciation or respect for rap or black people exactly?? We don't need the kpop community to regress back to idols doing blatant blackface. Y'all defenders need to work on that daft brains of yours.
