8th Week

The bootcamp is almost over and to be honest it makes me a bit sad. This week has been quite difficult for me to pass through as I was dealing with some personal issues; however I tried my best even though at times I felt a bit overwhelmed and it was just overall difficult for me to focus. The coding classes though kind of lit up my mood a bit so that was definitely a win! I’m looking forward to next week and I feel much better than last week so I will give my best !

Remote Contextual Inquiry

Reading the article and watching the videos, remote contextual inquiry seems like a very good tool to better identify a strategy to approach this project. I think it will be of great help in the research phase of our new project as it helped organise in my mind the way to approach interviews and the whole onboarding process. It also accentuates good practice in projects and in providing a more in-depth look at user needs and ui/ux perspectives. It helped me identify the “players” i need to look at when conducting interviews and also provided a larger pov at what data I should analyse and look at. 

As a conclusion, it helps me better organise myself when conducting interviews and creating a strategy to start this project.

5th week of UI/UX Bootcamp

This week I had a bit of a dip and didn’t feel as motivated. I felt very tired from the past two weeks (especially the travel app). So in a way I can admit I didn’t give my all because I felt a bit mentally exhausted; however this weekend I managed to rest and recuperate in a way... I literally slept 10-12 hours daily with also siesta hahahhahaha.... so hopefully this next project will be better in terms of motivation. Although I cannot say I’m very excited for it.... I have the motivation to do my best so let’s see how it goes :D.

PS. I played Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey all weekend so it might have an influence over my posts and GIF choices.

Add a Feature

I really, really enjoyed working on this project! We had Glovo as a project and I thought it was super interesting because we had to keep it in glovo’s style and not disrupt its own flow so it was a nice challenge. 

I will also mention I LOVED my team, really enjoyed working together with both Marta and Fabiana! They are great people with amazing ideas and input!

So loved the week, loved the project and loved the team!

Second week of bootcamp DONE.

I found this week to be much better for me as it involved an individual project. I am more of an introverted person and like independence quite a lot, so it was much easier for me to get around this week as it was me who made all the decisions. 

I also liked the programming lessons as I like knowing more about this subject and I also won Ironbeers so I am quite proud of this week. 

However, this design report has been giving me trouble as I do not like writing much, I am more of a visual person so this has been a bit challenging this week. A second thing that has been challenging for me this week is the presentation. As i said, I am more of an introvert and it is very difficult for me to speak in front of an audience no matter how big or small. But i did it and even if it wasn’t perfect, i believe i tried my best.

Individual Project Group Crits

I very much enjoyed my group crits; I think it went very well and I thought also the suggestions I got were quite rational and wholesome. I also liked to see what everyone else was doing, it was quite difficult not to suggest from the beginning but I think I managed in the end haha! 

So overall I think group crits are a really good idea, especially that you get to see what your other classmates are doing and are able to get some feedback!

First week accomplished!

Finished the first week of the bootcamp, I found it quite challenging to be honest. It was difficult keeping up with all assignments at the level I would have wanted to, because I am not used to having to wake up so early. However, I am very proud I managed to finish everything perhaps not at the level I wanted but still I finished and I did it well. I also enjoyed all the new things I learnt and very much like learning from Nevan and Helena which to me is very important because if I do not connect well with the teachers, I tend to space out a bit.

I also liked meeting everyone and I hope to get to know everyone better in the following weeks. Next week, I will for sure come for Ironbeers!

Super excited about this next project and see how I will manage this week; hopefully better than last week !

First day of Ironhack UI/UX bootcamp! Quite an intense day for me as I am getting used to a new pace. However, it was really enjoyable! Since I come from a more traditional design background, it was very interesting to learn about the two diamonds design principle. Also, it was lovely meeting everyone, working in groups and I am quite excited for the project we have this week (There’s an app for that). I like working with the people in my group and I am eager to see how our app will look like on Friday! 🍿

I’m Alexandra, but everyone calls me Sasha! I’m from Romania and I studied Design in London! I worked in the Fashion Industry for almost 5 years and through Fashion Tech, I discovered a passion for web design! 

I’ve been living in Barcelona for two years now and I’m very excited to start the UI/UX course and a new career in this domain!
