how do they comfort each other?
with any of miki's ships, the answer is— always music!!! but it especially applies to lullaberry bc,,,, to me i think since they both love and are involved in music, its music in itself that becomes its own love language, and their primary one at that. so this could really mean singing for each other or humming, or playing an instrument! i feel like they'd be the types to know each others' music styles and favorite songs by heart 100%, and i mean, its also very much canon that jesse sings mc to sleep, so this doesn't change wjgnbef. but music is def miki's primary way of giving comfort (and love in general) too, and it would would also extend to composing songs for him!
in addition to that though,,,, i also know that jesse is someone who shows love primarily through words of affirmation, which is a direct match for miki bc she needs this the most,,, bc me. i need it LMAO. and luckily for her, jesse isn't stingy at all with his words! i think that with them, this is something that miki never really asks for.. it's not like with caleb and cael in that they give it because they know her very well to know what she wants and when she needs it- with jesse, he gives it just very freely, all the time, so i dont think miki ever gets the opportunity to doubt at all in the first place akfbwhjfs. but yeah, he does, like cael and caleb, always know when she needs it the most, and that she's more comforted by words! so once he notices she's upset, he'll definitely be verbally reassuring x10 askjhgkdfj. he's just,,, someone who matches miki so well in that aspect and the match is pretty crazy 😭 so much of their relationship isnt just founded on familiarity and safety like i talk ab in this post, but there's also just. so so so so much compatibility that's already there askjfhd so the love they share is something i really like

SO. the thing ab miki is probably,,, like,, what's most striking/noticeable about her style is structure? so even if she may wear soft/loose ish pieces, she still goes for a very structured silhouette- clean lines, pieces that define different sections! in this way i think that among all the Lls, i actually put her style pretty close to sariel's ajfhshshf but this is something that def also transfers over to the pieces she makes and how she'd generally design for others; it's not just about the concept but silhouette is a very big thing for her!!! so for jesse specifically, there would be a lot of emphasis on the proportion of his shoulders and waist ajgbehghdfi think that when she styles him it's kinda obv that she did LMAO. think; cropped blazers/cardigans, waist chains, vests, corsets !! i feel. this is often, almost always, met from jesse with incredulousness, pride, fondness, and exasperation mixed into one wjgjnwnfhfhs

so,,, kaia and sariel have a bit of a mismatch, bec kaia's way of giving (and wanting to receive) love is primarily physical touch, and sariel afaik kinda feels like,,, acts of service, or quality time? which-- is fine! and doesn't bother kaia bc she has no qualms asking for what she wants LMAO, and she's very willing to learn how to properly give love to sariel, too!

LMAO like,,, she's fond of using softer fabrics and styles that are comfy and easy to use, so it def doesn't compromise that at all! but at the same time. she styles clothing in a way that's a bit odd and like... not very,, usual/common? so i'd say her strength really lies in her boldness, and that she isn't afraid to challenge what's considered "normal"... but more than that, it's that she really isn't the type to forgo functon just for aesthetic. in this way, i think she aligns pretty well with sariel's design principles tbh LMAO, just that.. well.. i dont think i'd call her designs exactly elegant.. LMAO

i dont talk ab snowberry that often but theyre so like,,, domestic akfbwbgjjsf i feel like it gives a different angle to the kind of obsession miki tends to have, bc cael's obsession is different too, and is not as intense as what caleb jesse and ellis have... its the kind that's really grounding, as ironic as that is, so despite how snowberry starts off i actually think they have a very healthy relationship? might be the healthiest out of miki's 3 main ships 😭
maybe it's in cael's nature to be grounding for her bc thats how they grew up together, and miki retains from little painter that she's a very emotional person while cael is more,, well,, Not 😭

honestly what i love the most ab lullaberry is that i can hone in a lot on their mutual love for music and mutual sense for performing ajcbbwhgf it's not the same typical "i'd rather stay in with you and do whatever" that i give most of miki's ships, bc while its true that she loves spending time at home with her f/o, i feel like with jesse its a little more than that! bc sure they both dabble in music for work, but vacations is an opportunity for them to kind of be surrounded in music in a way thats just,,,,, For Them, which kinda makes it extra special! + since they both share the interest, the "special" kinda connotation of a vacation is mostly reserved for doing things they wouldn't normally do, so i see them the type to go out a lot and enjoy viewing the world of music together :3 be it browsing music shops together, or watching shows together, or concerts, or something like nights out at a karaoke bar!!! effectively i think jesse brings out a side to miki that allows her to have a little more fun akfhshf

i see them as pretty much aligning in this!! whether it's during a longer vacation or it's a day off or something, what matters most is they get to spend it together. bc honestly whether they're outside or not, they're also the type to not have a care in the world about anything else except each other wkchehjgsf there's always that kind of. feeling with miki where she easily gets lost in the safety and comfort of his presence that nothing else matters, and fortunately or unfortunately this is something that jesse mirrors a whole lot 😭 so the activity of a romantic night doesn't matter, bc if they get time to themselves together that's all they really need to consider it a romantic night LMAO. and,,, guaranteed that no matter what happens, miki would absolutely have those pathetic lovesick heart eyes 😭 bc i dont think she ever hides that from jesse at all, and the only reason they end up slowburn is bc of the external circumstances surrounding jesse's situation, and not because of a lack of communicated feelings 😭
And then they go out stargazing and listen to music together and eat lots of food and play lots of games and make out a lot and cuddle on rainy days and take care of Ilkay's (the oc) cat together and play guitars together and collect lots of space themed shit....
And they carry each other to bed and wake up late together and go to bed late together and Ilkay bakes while Xavier watches and Xavier plays the piano while Ilkay listens and they have reading dates where they alternate reading a chapter out loud and they cuddle and they play around like silly boys and one is darkness (Ilkay) while the other is light (Xavier) and they spar and they sit in silence and they have long winded chats and they dance under the rain and they run through the woods and they get sick or they get hurt and they take care of each other....
And they go to concerts and they learn k-pop choreos together and they sing at karaoke together and they make bracelets for each other and they gift each other stationary things because Ilkay keeps a dream journal and Xavier does scrapbooks and they take a bunch of pictures together and they have little picnic dates and they go on road trips on Ilkay's car and they rest their heads on each others lap and they roll around down a hill during spring and Ilkay buys Xavier hoodies and Xavier buys Ilkay jewelry and they steal each other's clothes and they leave little notes for each other and they go swimming together in summer and they play with leaves during fall and they curl up together during winter and they take naps together and they watch a lot of movies and series together and they sway together in the kitchen and they cling to each other in the mornings and they cry in each other's arms
and when Xavier gets jealous Ilkay reminds him he's the only one he wants by fucking it away and when Ilkay gets possessive he clings to Xavier in a back hug while Xavier speaks and Xavier kisses it away and they wear each other's initials in a necklace (Xavier's is tangled amongst the many other necklaces he's gifted Ilkay and Ilkay's is accompanied by a moon charm) and Xavier braids Ilkay's hair when it gets long and Ilkay practically bathes Xavier when he's too tired to do it himself and they paint each other's nails and they whisper to each other sweet nothings in the night and Ilkay admires Xavier's swordsmanship and Xavier admires Ilkay's resilience and Xavier meets Ilkay's dad and Ilkay meets Jeremiah and Ilkay calls Xavier cute at every chance he gets and Xavier calls him pretty boy just to see him blush and Ilkay squeezes the ever loving fuck out of Xavier when he gets cuteness aggression and Xavier pinches Ilkay's cheeks when he gets cuteness aggression and they love each other so fucking much your honor
