Zeke rolled his eyes as she spoke. “It’s not bullshit and I totally don’t.. most of the time,” he smirked and laughed. “Well duh, that’s just how fate works. But i’m pretty sure it’s true that people stop growing when they reach perfection, I mean it would explain a lot considering you’re so tiny. You just reached it quicker than the rest of us,” he said playfully. “I’m sure you are tough,” he laughed again, smiling even brighter as she kissed his cheek. 

He smiled softly as she spoke, nodding in agreement with her words. “It’s been way too long. I missed it, and I missed you,” he said softly. “You want to?” he asked happily, a goofy grin plastered on his face. “I’m not telling you. You’ll have to wait and see,” he smiled, shaking his head. “Nope, I’m definitely the lucky one. Shh,” he said, pressing a finger to her lips. “You have no idea how good it feels to say it,” he replied gently, looking down at her. “But it’s true, I love you Rebecca.. and I know things are pretty crappy at the moment, but it won’t be long until things work out. You know it’s gonna get better.” he murmured.

Rebecca laughed and shook her head “See even you know differently.” she teased “That is surprisingly sweet, Ezekiel..” she smiled up at him “Although if that were true.. You’d be stuck in the land of shortness with me.. And don’t bother trying to argue about how you’re not perfect or whatever because i think differently, You’re perfect to me okay so just.. quit even thinking about arguing..” she laughed “Hey if i can survive a bullet, i have to be a little bit tough!” She pointed out. 

“I missed you more, trust me i missed you more..” she smiled, rolling her eyes as he smiled at her “Stop dorky smiling at me.. I’m impatient i want to know..” she whined, tightening her grip around his middle. Rebecca let her eyes roll as he placed his finger to her lips “That’s not fair.. that’s cheating” she laughed “I love you too..” she smiled at him “And i really hope so.. I think.. i think it’s about time we deserve it..” she nodded “I just want you.. and us to be happy..” she smiled “Thats all i want..”

“I can’t?” Zeke smirked, raising a brow. “I thought that was exactly how it worked.” he joked, laughing softly. He smiled as she laughed and held onto the back of his shirt, the sound of her laughter making his heart swell with happiness. He grinned down at her as she wrapped her arms around his neck, his own hands moving to grip her waist. “We should definitely skip the netflix..” he smirked, “but are you sure you can handle it?” he teased, moving to hover his lips just above hers.

Rebecca laughed and shook her head “if you really wanted to watch a movie.. you would save the kiss for after.. or at least half way through..” she teased. Rebecca couldn’t help but smile when she saw the grin on his face - it made her so happy to see him this way, somewhat happy. “Good.. because i wouldn’t have let you watch.. even if you wanted to” she laughed, fingers gently moving into the back of his hair as he hovered above her. “I think.. you would be very surprised at what i can handle..” she teased, moving her lips just a touch closer to his

When she pulled back from the kiss, Zeke opened his eyes in an attempt to see if she was okay, but before he could say anything, she let out a small sob and hid her face. The actions making his chest tighten. He rolled his lips inwards as he gently placed his hand under her chin again, tilting her head up slightly once more. 

“Please don’t hide from me..” he whispered. “You’re too beautiful to hide.” he murmured. “Even when you are all teary,” he added softly, a hint of a smile pulling at his lips as he attempted to lighten the mood slightly. The blonde looked down at her with soft eyes as he gently kissed her nose. “Talk to me Becca.. what’s wrong?”

When she felt Zeke tilt her chin up, she avoided looking at his eyes at first, she knew if she did she would fall weak and that scared her but as soon as he spoke she couldn’t help up, looking up at him - she tried to stop her bottom lip from trembling, her hand rested against his chest, just to make sure he was actually there and that he wasn’t going anywhere. She swallowed the lump in her throat, shaking her head “I..” she paused taking a shakey breath “I can just.. feel myself slipping..” she whispered “And.. And i’m trying so hard not to..” she squeezed her eyes shut for a moment “But everyone’s leaving.. and it’s just so.. so hard” she shook her head “it feels like.. everytime something starts to go right.. it all crashes down on me.. and i just.. sometimes i feel like this isn’t real.. and that it’s some bullshit that my head has made up while i’m really buried in some hole somewhere..” she whispered “Because it’s either too good to be true.. or too painful to want to deal with..”

Charlotte smiled lightly when Rebecca nodded. The fae worked quickly to pull together two hot chocolates and in no more than five minutes she was handing one to her friend and walking into the living room. Sitting down, she waited quietly for a few seconds. “What’s going on love?”

Rebecca was grateful for charlotte, honestly she felt lucky to have someone so willing to listen. She pulled her knees up to her chest, holding the mug in her two hands, trying to figure out where the hell to even begin “I just..” she shook her head “I’m supposed to be happy..” she whispered “Things feel like theyre starting to work out..” she nodded “But.. I just feel..” she trailed off, trying to think of how to word it without having a fucking mental breakdown. “I feel so just.. broken.. and alone.. and isolated... and i can’t... deal with it...” she whispered, her eyes welled up as she dropped her gaze. “I know i’m not.. but i feel like i’m on my own.. i feel so fucking alone”

Wesley couldn’t entirely recall the last time he had not been monstrous, hence why he was now fiddling with his fingers. He smiled a strange, but gentle smile at Rebecca, the gesture somewhat almost foreign to him but he shrugged off the uncomfortable feeling of unease. “Cool. So was I,” he added, a wide grin now on his lips. “Let’s get out of here, then.” Wesley swiftly reached behind Rebecca and pulled the door shut, nudging her to lead the way. “So, today is your day and you’re in charge. Are we getting out of here with vampire speed? Or did you want to take a ride on my motorcycle?”

Rebecca kept her arms folded across her chest as she watched him smile, it was weird. She hadn’t seen him act like this, though to be honest? She appreciated it. After her brothers being missing in action, she had been cooped up for a couple of days. “Sounds good to me” she headed off down the hallway “that’s probably not a great idea.. putting me in charge” she admitted “As for vampire speed thats a big no thanks. Even the idea of that makes me nauseous.” she wrinkled her nose up in distaste “Where have you been hiding, anyway?”

The Lamia & The Empath

Without even waiting for her reply, Wesley made his way to Rebecca’s room. Although he’d never admit it, he was almost nervous to let her see the non-hostile side to him. Being without Poppy had taken its toll on him, making him rather exhausted and less aggressive. He’d still attack if he needed to, but right now, he was too lazy to release his inner monster so with a few seconds, the empath was going to meet the disgustingly not-mean vampire; the real Wesley. He knocked at the door once, maybe twice? And then lent on the door frame, waiting for the girl to answer and when she did, he frowned just the slightest. “You hungry?”

Rebecca hadn’t expected Wesley to be among the people that reached out to her. Honestly, the last few days had been the hardest Rebecca had dealt with in a while. She didn’t know how to describe how she was feeling. It didn’t translate properly in words. When she heard the knock on her door, she headed over to the door, pulling it open before crossing her arms over her chest. She knew she looked a lot different to the other times he had seen her. Her short hair pulled up in a ponytail. Her body wrapped in jeans and a jumper that was way too big for her. “I guess.. Kind of” she smiled gently “I think more than anything i need to get out of this fucking house..” she admitted

I think it's about time you ditched all those pathetic humans in your life and hung out with me. Are you free? Let's do something fun. It won't involve blood. Or me feeding. I promise. I just don't like seeing you upset, especially if I'm not the cause. -W

I’m not hanging out with anyone at the moment, so it’s technically not ditching anyone. As long as you stick to those promises i’m okay with that. If you call me dumb human though i’m out.

Charlotte smiled lightly and nodded as she leaned against the bench near the girl, her expression softening as she spoke. At the girls confession, the brunette stepped forward and hugged her, pulling back a few seconds later. “How about we make more hot chocolates then sit down and have a chat?” she asked softly.

Rebecca returned the hug, biting down on her bottom lip as she did, letting out a soft sigh, nodding in agreement when she suggested hot chocolate, pulling back as she ran her hand through her hair. She didn’t understand everything she was feeling at the moment - it didn’t make sense to her and it scared her. She just wanted things to be normal again.
