  Okay okay. I know what you’re thinking, ich, movie ships. But this one isn’t a terrible set up like Neville and Luna. Just think.

Galadriel and Olórin (Gandalf) meet in Valinor, Galdriel a beautiful young elven princess, Olórin a young(ish) Istar. They fall in love, but Galadriel is forced into an arranged marriage to Celeborn, and must cross the seas to Middle Earth, knowing she will never see her true love again.

Galadriel finally finds Olórin on Middle Earth, although where she has kept her beauty, he has aged, and their love is forbidden, but she will always belong and be there for him.

In Tolkien’s literature it is said that when the Istari were sent to Middle Earth to help stop Sauron, Olórin was reluctant, what if this was also because he knew his forbidden love was there?

It also says in Tolkien’s literature that after he is reborn after fighting the Balrog, Galadriel sends the eagles to save him and then nurses him back to health and clothes him in white.
