annie-kane:
“Oh, I’m job searching.”
“That so? Perhaps you’d like some help. I know the diner I work for is always looking for waitresses.”
richtorres:
“Who do you think we are? Judas?” He feigned shock. “Well, that didn’t sound terrifying at all.”
“No, I guess not. You don’t seem the type to go behind someone’s back and betray them.” Was that a jab at something. It most diffidently was. “I’m only joking.”
annie-kane:
“Okay, if you’re sure…”
“I am,” he reassured. “Now, tell me, you here for a drink? You don’t look like much of a gambler.”
richtorres:
“Mary? Wow, it’s an honour. You really should come down to the Basilica sometime. I know a bunch of other people who would love to meet you.” He replied with great enthusiasm. “Maybe you have’t done anything that bad.”
“Oh, really? These people aren’t going to nail my son to a cross are they?” He asked, jokingly. “If only you knew.”
annie-kane:
“Oh, yeah, of course.” At his request, Annie shifted her body off from where she was leaning. “I’m sorry, I didn’t actually know it was wet paint. I wouldn’t have leaned against it if I did. Tell your wife it was my fault, I don’t want to get you into trouble.”
“That’s very kind of you, lass, but you needn’t worry about that,” he replied, not even bothering to correct her on how Viv wasn’t his wife.
richtorres:
“Terrible? No, I’m a saint. Plus, who even believes in karma these days?”
“And I’m the Virgin Mary,” he returned with a jest. “I’d say I do, but then none of the things I’ve done have backfired.” Yet. He was still waiting.
annie-kane:
“…I know,” Annie replied, looking at him as if it wasn’t obvious that she was meant to lean against the paint.
“Right,” he doubted, not looking up from his crossword. “Then do you mind not leaning on it. You’ll anger the Missus, and I have to go home with her later.”
richtorres:
“What?” Rich asked, hoping the guy hadn’t said what he just said. Looking at his arm, he sighed as the paint was all over him. “Shit. I swear, this place gives me the worst luck.”
“Perhaps its not building. Perhaps its karma catching up. Done anything terrible recently?”
rhysmcarthur:
“Grinning like a maniac? So you mean the same way I’ve seen you grin from time to time?” He asked, simultaneously afraid of the man and more curious than ever as to what made him tick.
“Hm, how does that saying go? Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?”
ffslucien:
“Ask Athena to wash my clothes? I might as well get myself a casket while I’m at it.” he scoffed, semi-offended that the other would even suggest such thing. “If I were to ask her to do my chores like that she’ll personally strangle me with this very shirt no thank you.”
“Oh, I’m sure she won’t mind. It’ll give her something to do, rather than mope around.”
rhysmcarthur:
“So basically, you’re just playing a little with yourself then, as to whether or not you’re right about her? Stick to your crosswords, man.” Rhys said, growing tired of what was looking more and more like a bored man’s petty games. “Sure, go ahead, regale me with stories of your youth.”
Aron briefly wondered if the man knew what he just said, or maybe it was just the immature side of him that caught it. No matter. “I’ll keep it short. You see, mother was a Chemical engineer, father was a solider, Admiral. One sunny day, I heard shouting, than a loud bang rang through the house. Here’s were it gets a bit fun, I go down stairs, Father standing over my mother, who he shot in the head, with a grin. The bastard was grinning like a manic, I had to kill him.”
cordelia-sweetheart:
She shut her mouth and narrowed her eyes at the man. Not so much shaken as suddenly skeptical of how much more time she wanted to spend talking to him. It wasn’t that the comment shook her, but it served as decent proof that this man knew plenty and wasn’t someone to be trifled with. “Awww, you know something about my dad? Am I supposed to cry now?”
“Calm down, lassie, yeah?” He was getting disinterested, which was dangerous. Not for him, but for her. He hide the smirk that tugged at his lips as an idea popped in his head. He was sick. “I didn’t mean it as an insult, but as a compliment. Just that you weren’t boring.”
cordelia-sweetheart:
“What’s there to know? I’m like the world’s most boring person.” She said, rolling her eyes. “Now, you gonna tell me who you are?”
“Don’t sell yourself short, lass,” he...comforted? If one can call it that. “Though your Da had a big impact on how interesting you became, you only added to the story the moment you set foot in the casino and started working for Vivienne Aurelie Molière.” Did he ignore the fact that she asked who he was? Yup.
rhysmcarthur:
“I’m worried about all of us. Thea, myself, Brie, all of Thomas’ people. I know it’s not a feeling you’re familiar, but someone has to think about it. And you certainly haven’t given a thought to what a woman who executes her own people in a heartbeat will do to her enemies loved ones.”
“I know exactly what she’ll do.” Fact is, Viv and him were very similar. Maybe that is why this game of his was a lot more fun than it was before. He finally had a worthy opponent. "Have I ever told you about my parents?” It seemed off topic, but this story had a point to it. No one knew about Aron’s past, Thomas knew bits like where he came from, that sort of thing, but the rest. A mystery.
cordelia-sweetheart:
“You seem to be having a hard time making up your mind.” She stated. “Besides, who are you that you get to decide who belongs and who doesn’t?”
“Perhaps, I know more than you’d want me to know, and it makes me wonder. But I guess it don’t matter, we’ll soon find out.” Did he ignore her question? Yes. Was it intentional? Of course.
rhysmcarthur:
“Are you suicidal?” He challenged, slightly annoyed by the man’s smirk. “Whatever little game you think you’re about to win, just make sure it doesn’t fuck over the rest of us, hm?”
“Most people the word ‘insane’,” he taunted, his smirk growing even more. “Us? Or are you just worried about the safety of Ms. Karlsson? Alas, there is no reason to worry. I have her under control.”
ffslucien:
Lucien kept quiet for a minute, eyeing Aron suspiciously. Did he believe the man when he said it was just a joke? Definitely not. From what he had heard about the other there were quite a few things wrong with him, right now Lucien seemed to agree with that. He decided not to comment on it, sure it would only leave him with more cryptic comments “Ah well, it’s just a shirt after all, I think there are worse things to worry about don’t you think.”
“I know there are..” he trailed off, leaving the man to wonder. “But, you should give the shirt to Athena. She an get anything out.”
