“You okay?” Jaxon asked, seeing how winded Cole seemed to be after one of the oddest trips he had seen so far. “No, it’s alright- but is the pay really that good to keep on suffering.. that?”

“Been better, been a shit few weeks and the prick doesnt make it any better.” He sighed. “It’s not, I’m gonna quit this week.”

“Go ahead and flex, I got some ones and twenties to throw at ya,” he laughed, biting his lower lip. “Dude are you for real considering being a stripper because I for real would be there to watch that,” he said, shaking his head as he followed Cole. “Yeah, being new sucks, but I dunno I’ve moved around so god damn much, I just get used to it, y’know?”

Cole flexed his arm a little teasing his new friend. “I don’t think I’d ever be one but I could give you a private show if you ask nicely.” He winked with a grin on his face. “Yeah, I get that after I moved to Colorado from Texas I felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb. Now I feel like a local, although I’ve lived in Colorado a few years now.” He walked down the road into the bar.

“Oh, yeah, no. Definitely don’t have the rhythm or whatever for that,” he laughed. “Sometimes you just need to be single for a bit so you can accept invitations from dudes that may or may not have had a past as a stripper,” he winked back. “There’s a bar around here somewhere, right? I have no idea where everything is. Fucking hate being new to town,” he said, head shaking.

“That’s what I’m saying, although I used to play sports so I guess I can just flex and get money.” He half joked. “That’s the truth, especially when they offer to take you out to a bar.” He teased. “It’s right up the road, I was new here a month ago so I know how you’re feeling but everything is pretty close range and easy to find after being to them a few times.” He said starting to walk to the bar.

“As one what? Gay? I’m whatever. If you’re hot what’s up, if not, deuces,” he chuckled, biting his lower lip. “And yes, you should take that as a compliment.” He listened as he spoke about the company and scrunched up his nose. “Asshole exes are the fucking worst…” He had no room to talk about up and leaving anyone, seeing as he did that to his sister— with good intentions, just… not what he should’ve done. “I think it’s time for a new job, too. At least with a company that gives a fuck about you and not this dickhead makin’ you run errands for fucking soda… I bet you could use a drink, shit I know I could and I only talked about your job. Wanna come with?”

Cole laughed “No, not gay a stripper. but it’s nice to know you’re bi it means I have a chance.” He winked. “Yeah, I’m not happy with him at all but I guess it’s for the best for me to be single.” He shrugged wanting to change the topic. “I think so, I’m applying to different places so hopefully one gets back to me that isn’t crazy.” He smiled. “I could use one, let’s go.”

“Oh, no, not me. Just been to enough strip clubs to know you’d be at the top of the game, man,” he winked. “Whatever I please, huh? I’ll keep that in mind, Cole,” he said, nodding his head. “So you’re an accountant who delivers soda to your asshole boss? How’s that work into your calculations?” he said, brown raising.

“I didn’t peg you as one.” Cole laughed raising a brow to the comment about him going to male strip clubs. “Well I take that as a complement.” He nodded. “Yeah, my dad got me an in with the company and I had to pull a lot of strings to get transferred out here to live with my asshole ex who up and left me. I think it’s time for a new job.” He said honestly.

Cole hadn’t stopped to see Asher in a while, between schedule conflicts and the fact Asher reminded him so much of Jett. Cole finally mustered up his feelings to stop by his apartment. Knowing it was never good to enter someone's house empty handed, Cole grabbed some frozen pizzas and a pack of beer he picked up a few nights ago and never opened then made his way downstairs. When Cole got to Ashers floor he found his apartment and knocked on the door.

“Uh, dude, I speak from personal experience— a lot of fucking people would pay to see you strip. Accounting to stripping might be a bit of a leap, but hey, at least you’d be accurate with how much you’re bringin’ in every night,” he laughed. “I’m Teddy, by the way. Should I call you something like Magic Mike or you got a regular name?” he teased.

“You used to strip? I’m sad I missed out on the good days.” Cole winked then laughed. “I’ll look into it, it beats my jerk of a boss always asking for stupid shit.” He shook his head almost mad enough to quit but he knew his parents would hate to have their country boy become tarnished. “Nice to meet you Teddy, you can call me whatever you please but I go by Cole.”

At that, Teddy did look up at the man and made no attempt to hide the way his eyes moved over him. He nodded and pushed out his lower lip before smiling. “Now that might not be a bad option for you, man. Lemme know when you’re working if you make that very strategic career move,” he smirked.

Cole looked over to the guy he was talking to, getting a little shy because he found the other attractive. Cole raised his brow when he heard that stripping wouldn’t be a terrible road. “At least someone would pay for it.” He smirked. “I do feel it would be hard going from accounting to stripping though.”

“Bosses suck,” Teddy shouted out after having witnessed the whole ordeal. “And any boss that’s gonna fuckin’ fire you over soda is some douchebag you definitely don’t need to be working for,” he added, not even bothering to look up at the man.

“You can say that again.” Cole said rolling his eyes knowing what the guy was saying to be all too true he shook his head. “It pays very well so I never complain but things like this really make me question if I should just quit and become a male stripper.” He said in light of the situation.

Jaxon simply nodded as the boy asked him to open the door for him, holding it open with one hand and navigating Bear’s leash with the other. “You would’ve gotten fired over that? That’s… unnecessary. And probably illegal, too.” He spoke, his brows raising in surprise once the boy was back.

Cole was a bit winded by the run down three flights of stairs. He caught his breath to see who the generous person was that held the door for him. “Yeah, I know but if I tell him about it he gets mad and tells me to go away.. It’s weird but it pays well so I’m not complaining. Sorry you had to see that.”

“Oh it’s this song from the show How I Met Your Mother.” Olivia laughed. “I was watching it earlier and the episode came on getting the song stuck in my head.”

“I’ve never really watched that show, I way always more into the big bang theory.”

Emory shrugged his shoulders. “Its fine.” He wasn’t one to judge other people’s lives. At least not intentionally. Since he could be a very opinionated person from time to time. “No need to apologize to me.” He took a step back into the building. “You coming back in, or are you headed out?” Emory didn’t want to shut the door in the guy’s face if he was coming in. He also didn’t want to block the door.

Cole walked in past Emory and gave a smile. “I’m in, were you heading out?”

“Thanks, man.” Nev had tossed most of the pieces back into the pie tin before getting up and throwing it away. Grabbing himself a handful of napkins to clean up the rest that was on the floor. It wasn’t long before the two had gotten every spot there was. Nevada stood and smiled towards the male, “I’ll treat you to a slice of the other pie.” And maybe a little of something else.

Cole made sure it was suitable for the people working there to stop staring at the pie on the ground for him to get up and throw out the rest of the pie leftovers. “That sounds good.” Cole smiled washing off his hands at the fountain drying them with napkins.

Emory held the door open as requested, a bit perplexed as to what someone could need soda so badly that they’d fire someone over it. He watched as the male handed the bottles over, still holding the door open. When he turned back around and thanked him, while also giving an explanation, Emory nodded his head. “No problem. You know, he could have just ordered those on Amazon Prime and had them delivered to the party. Or you know gone to the store himself,” he remarked still a bit perplexed.

Cole still a bit out of breath rolled his eyes. “I don’t know why he does this to me, I figured it was initiation but I’ve been working there for months now, I don’t know when it will end but the job pays well so I’m not asking any questions.” Cole rambled to Emory. “Sorry you had to see that.”

“Definitely not.” Olivia admitted. “I thought my door was shut. Super embarrassing.” She laughed naturally shrugging it off. “Oh well.”

“In that case this is probably awkward.” He laughed a bit. “I can pretend I just didnt see anything.” He raised a brow.
