When I was questioning whether or not I was a lesbian, I would’ve loved someone telling me that it was okay if I still liked men but had no intention of dating them, or that it was okay if I wasn’t sure if my attraction to them was genuine or forced. We need to support questioning girls and girls who feel drawn to the lesbian label who haven’t figured it all out yet or who don’t know what compulsory heterosexuality is or who have only dated and crushed on men but don’t want to anymore. Not everyone knows everything 100% at first, or ever, and they’re still allowed to be a lesbian. Just because they don’t know our buzzwords or haven’t figured everything out doesn’t mean that we should act like they’re ruining the lesbian label. If they feel like “lesbian” is right, that’s because it probably is.

We live in a society because we need each other. People need people. It can be tiring to deal with others, especially the ones you disagree with; those who think differently from you. Whether it’s someone from another culture, or a girl who’s a lame Facebook friend from elementary school. In a peaceful society with equal rights, we have to manage to listen to and try to understand one another. Perhaps it’s easier to understand if we focus on what we have in common, rather than the differences. Look for what we agree with, instead of what we disagree with. Maybe, if we see the worst in others, it is exactly what they will show us.

You deserve to be treated with kindness, love and care. You deserve to be called beautiful/handsome every single day. You deserve cute notes and teddy bears and candy wrapped up in ribbons. You deserve to be told that you are an amazing human being. You deserve to be spoken to with kind words. You deserve to have someone stay by your side through the good times and through the bad. You deserve to have someone do their best to understand you. You deserve to be loved.
