Red Hot Chili Peppers Frontman Anthony Kiedis Saved a Babyâs Life During a Dance-Off
Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis shared an unsettling story â thankfully, it ended well - from the groupâs recent Carpool Karaoke episode on The Late Late Show with James Corden. While a shirtless singing sequence and impromptu wrestling match did make the final cut of the video, a dance-off outtake was left out.
Kiedis told Chris Moyles of Radio X what happened afterwards: âWe danced off - we tied - and then we were going to celebrate with some Mexican food on the corner. And a woman came out of her house, holding a child saying âMy baby, my baby, my baby canât breathe!ââ
Being a father himself, Kiedisâs instincts kicked in as he raced across the street to perform CPR on the struggling infant: â[I] tried to open the mouth, [it was] like locked shut. So I started rubbing the belly, bubbles came out of the mouth, the eyes rolled back into place, the ambulance showed up and I handed the baby over, who was now breathing and fine, and we went back to Carpool Karaoke.â
While the moment did happen off camera, saving a life is certainly setting some kind of bar for the popular Carpool Karaoke series. Kiedisâs account of the incident was so calm and collected that the Radio X DJs quickly labeled him a hero, something that he just as quickly shrugged off, saying: âNo hero, no hero. It was just a dance-off.â

Deftones Singer to Perform Inside Magma Chamber of Volcano
Icelandâs Thrihnukagigur volcano is a popular tourist destination and, for at least one night, an intimate music venue.
On Saturday June 18th, Deftones lead singer Chino Moreno will be playing inside the volcanoâs magma chamber.
But before you get worked up about how âmetalâ that sounds, take into account two things: one, the volcano is inactive and hasnât erupted in 4000 years, and two, itâs going to be an acoustic show.
The special concert is part of Icelandâs Secret Solstice music festival and is already sold-out â each of the extremely limited 20 tickets went for about 2,000 dollars.
But attendees wanting to check âgetting drunk in a volcanoâ off their bucket list might want to reconsider. A press release from Secret Solstice warned, âRefreshments will be provided within the crater, however any guests who are considerably intoxicatedâŠwill be refused their spot on the tour.â

Florence Welch Visits, Sings With 15-Year-Old Fan in Hospice
On May 20th, Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine visited Hospice Austin in Texas to sing with a 15-year-old fan who was too sick to attend her concert.
Together, along with guitarist Robert Ackroyd, friends, family, and staff members, they performed the songs âDog Days Are Overâ and âShake It Out.â
On Facebook, Hospice Austin Nurse Practitioner Christie Kremer wrote about the special visit: âFlorence walked around the corner to the patient's room -- stuffed to the gills with teen friends -- and there were shrieks and squeals and so much joyous music⊠and somehow simple kindness made everything better.â
The patient is currently struggling with a cancer called Paraganglioma, and following the performance, Florence complimented her on her singing, saying âyour harmonies were so good!â
Videos posted on YouTube by Hospice Austin have already racked up hundreds of thousands of views.

Axl Rose Performs Standing Up (With Boot Cast) at AC/DC Show in Vienna
Axl Rose is back on his feet, boot cast and all.
Following a broken foot injury in April, Axl had been performing from the comfort of a rock god throne â loaned to him by Dave Grohl - for his recent tour dates with AC/DC. But on Thursday night in Vienna, Austria, the fill-in frontman apparently had recovered enough to perform upright, although he did sing while seated for at least part of the show.
Earlier this month in Spain, he appeared to have no problem walking onstage to his throne but the Vienna concert hopefully marks the start of a newly-mobile Axl.
Axl Rose has been touring with AC/DC after original singer Brian Johnson had to drop out or risk losing his hearing completely.
And while some fans initially balked at the replacement, reviews have been positive from both critics and concertgoers. The Guardian gave their debut Lisbon show five stars, calling it âmasterly.â Fans on Facebook gave similar praise, with one commenting, âThe absentees were wrong, Axl did a great job.â
Axl will continue touring with AC/DC through June 12 and then re-link with Guns Nâ Roses for their Not In This Lifetime tour, which resumes June 23rd in Detroit.

Kesha Sings Moving Cover of Bob Dylanâs âIt Ainât Me Babeâ at Surprise Performance
On Wednesday night, Kesha made a surprise appearance at a Ben Folds concert in L.A. and covered Bob Dylanâs classic song âIt Ainât Me Babe.â
Kesha had planned on performing the song at this Sundayâs Billboard Music Awards but was denied by Dr. Lukeâs Kemosabe Records, to which she is still signed. Kesha and Dr. Luke are currently embroiled in a volatile legal battle over claims that the producer raped the singer. Sheâs also unable to record new music outside his label, as an injunction seeking that was denied in February.
On Wednesday, Kesha explained on Instagram that her original decision to perform the Dylan song at the Billboard Music Awards was âabout me honoring one of my favorite songwriters of all time and has never had anything to do with Dr. Luke.â
Kemosabe Records recently issued a statement on the Billboard Music Awards rescinding their first rescission and approving Kesha's upcoming performance: "Keshaâs performance on the Billboard Music Awards was always approved, in good faith. Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation. Now that Kemosabe has obtained assurances, that it is relying upon, from Kesha, her representatives and Dick Clark Productions that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform, the approval has been restored.â
On Thursday morning, Folds tweeted out a photo from the concert, writing, âhear what a free Kesha really sounds like.âÂ

Later, she thanked him for inviting her onstage, writing, âthanks for letting me play a Bob Dylan cover with you. Thanks for being a good friend in this scary business.â
Earlier this year, Zedd also reached out to Kesha after hearing about her ongoing fight with Dr. Luke. In April, their collaboration was made official when they released âTrue Colors,â a reworked version of the Zedd track with Kesha on vocals.

Justin Timberlakeâs âCanât Stop the Feeling!â Video Joyously Recalls Pharrellâs âHappyâ
Unless Usher is reading this, Justin Timberlake is probably a better dancer than you. But his new music video for âCanât Stop the Feeling!â lets regular folk show off their own creative and uninhibited dance moves.
Itâs a tried and true formula, and while JT never specifies what feeling he canât stop, Pharrell might have the answer: the video bears close resemblance to âHappy.â
Pharrellâs âHappyâ was arguably the biggest song of 2014 and its music video is closing in on one billion views. Its dancing concept, and more likely its success, appears to have inspired Timberlakeâs âCanât Stop the Feeling!â
Each of them feature dancers of different shapes and sizes, everyday locations both inside and outside, group choreography, and most importantly, an innocuous feel-good hook.
Both videos also promote animated properties, âHappyâ was part of the Minions-starring Despicable Me 2 film and âCanât Stop the Feeling!â is part of Trolls, the upcoming movie which just happens to stars the voice of Justin Timberlake.
âHappyâ stayed at number one on Billboardâs Hot 100 for 10 consecutive weeks and JT has the potential to follow suit. âCanât Stop the Feeling!â debuted this week at number one.

Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace Burns Birth Certificate Onstage to Protest Bill: 'Goodbye, Gender'
On Sunday night, the punk rock band Against Me! played a concert in Durham, North Carolina to protest House Bill 2, or HB 2, which requires transgender people to use the bathroom that matches the gender on their birth certificate.
Unlike Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam â two artists that cancelled their North Carolina shows in opposition to the bill â Against Me!âs lead singer Laura Jane Grace is personally affected by HB 2. Grace transitioned in 2012, and during the Durham show, she took a moment to comment on the divisive bill â by burning her birth certificate onstage, saying âgoodbye, gender.â

â Kathryn Wymer (@kwymer6) May 16, 2016
Elsewhere in the show, she referenced Springsteenâs cancellation and her own decision not to follow suit, saying, âand so when Bruce Springsteen announced that he was boycotting [his North Carolina show], my manager called me and heâs like, âdo you want to join the boycott? Nowâs the timeâ and I was like âf*ck no weâre going to North Carolina.â
Even before Sundayâs show, Grace shared her criticism by posting a photo on Instagram of the contentious bill printed on toilet paper.
After coming out as transgender in 2012, the singer changed her name from Tom Gabel to Laura Jane Grace. Also in 2012, Against Me! released Transgender Dysphoria Blues, an album that detailed Grace's sometimes-difficult transition. In March, she announced that she'd be releasing a memoir this fall, titled Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock's Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout.
In addition to protests by musicians â BeyoncĂ© recently performed in North Carolina but released a statement supporting LGBT rights - HB 2 is getting heat from the federal government. Last week, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit to suspend the bill, claiming it violates civil rights laws.
