there is less then a month until i’m in new york and honestly, i feel like the summer has dragged on til this point. I’m so ready for this new chapter but also now really nervous.
New York is great, but the subway is the actual worst. Travel in general... Is the worst. Teleportation needs to be invented, so fair warning.. Get ready to hate that aspect. Everything else is pretty amazing though! I love the sights and the cool experiences.

mommaq: well i can tell you he would just be happy that it was happening at all, i can't tell you how many nights i cried to him about how much i regretted all things i did in high school, and how i should try to contact you but i didnt wanna mess anything up, he was always so supportive with whatever i chose. wow, greece? that's amazing, well i can't tell you how happy i am your back, honestly today of all days i never thought i would have a smile on my face. he's definitely a good pick, and oh sweetie you are too much like me for your own good, i'll tell you all about my mess of a love life if you'd be willing to hear it, but maybe in person? if that would be okay with you, i don't wanna push anything too soon

bethcorcoran: i have so many regrets about not reconnecting sooner. i kick myself every day for losing out on my chance to be close with him. my life has been... wild. a lot of ups and downs.... before i came to lima, i was actually living in greece. then mom told me about noah's passing and... yeah. it changed everything. aw.. makes me feel better about pursuing things with him, actually. i'm known for having.. a questionable taste in men, if my ex husband is to be an example.

bethcorcoran: my mom told me about it a couple of months back and that's when i decided to sort of come back and learn my roots, so to speak... i do want to get to know you.. i've just been scared of popping up and it being the last thing you wanted.. to see me. i know you've built a whole life without me in it and i guess the fear of rejection has kept me from reaching out. oh! uh.. danny schuester. he's really sweet.

They say the pain will get easier to handle, but I don’t think that this one will. You were with me through all of my hard times, and I hate that the hardest one I have to do without you. Danny had half a mind to not expect the blonde to show up at the bar that night. Alibi wasn’t exactly the bar someone would find themselves at to sing songs from ABBA, though he had heard weirder things being sung. As the night went on and he didn’t see her, he figured he had scared her off with his instance for her to sing to Swedish pop supergroup.
He was cleaning some glasses when he heard her voice, a laugh escaping him as he turned around and took in her outfit. “It looks like you’re ready to join a tribute band.” He joked, dropping the towel onto the bar before leaning against it. “I think I’m the one that’s supposed to live to serve. But let’s see… start with Mamma Mia. It’ll determine if you get kicked out or not.” He teased. “Need some liquid courage first?”
“Joining an ABBA tribute band is on my bucket list, actually. Maybe I’ll find some members tonight.” Beth watched him curiously, laughing when he offered her a drink. “Nope! I’m completely good with doing this sober. Mamma Mia? I got you.” She slid off the stool, then slid off her jacket and tossed it on the bar before she headed up towards the small stage.
It took her a few moments to get the song she wanted queued up, then she grinned at the various patrons and did a small wave. “Hi everyone! I’m Beth Corcoran, and I’ll be singing some ABBA tonight. Feel free to sing along.” The beginning chords of the song began and she slipped into the familiar tune as easily as breathing.
“I was cheated by you, and I think you know when..”
It was easy to start of slow, then ramp up the energy after the first few lines. She fell into the performer she’d forgotten she was, having not sang all that much the past few years. She danced around the stage, then around the bar as the song progressed and it was intoxicating to get the other bar patrons in on it, them dancing and clapping along as she sang. By the last few verses she’d jumped on top of the bar where Danny was, finishing the song with a flourish and a grin before hopping down and turning to the redhead with wild eyes and heavy breath.

Beth had considered not going to the bar, after all... It was probably just a joke, right? There’s no way it was serious, but here she was standing in front of the bar in question. It was weird that out of all the places she’d been, a little bar in bumfuck nowhere, Ohio was making her nervous. The guy had said he’d play ABBA so she’d played that up in her outfit, one of her more flashy choices in a while.
Walking in she spotted red hair at the bar and she smirked, walking over when his back was turned so that she could slide quietly onto a stool. “So... Mamma Mia or Waterloo first? Your pick. I live to serve.”
