āāEven if youāre sweeping floors or painting ceilings, do it better than anybody in the world, no matter what it is that you do. Be the best at it, and have a respect for others, and be proud of yourselfā¦and to honor, be honorable.āā

āMJ straightened his hair because he wanted to be white!ā
But what about men like, James Brown (one of MJās main idols)? Who famously sung the line āIāM BLACK AND IāM PROUD!"Ā
His hair has been straight throughout pretty much his entire career. But does that mean he hated being black? nah
and what about all these other black male celebs who have had or still have straight hair?
"MJ bleached his skin because he didnāt want to be black!!ā
lemme tell you
about this little thingā¦
called Vitiligoā¦
āMJ turned into a white person!ā
Negative, fam. Just look at these BLACK,Ā Albino women
āevery shade we witnessed MJās skin transform into is indeed a part of the āBlack rainbowā of complexions we come inā.
āWhen his skin got lighter, he did not magically become a White person. I donāt recall him dyeing his hair blonde, wearing blue contact lenses, or ever denying that Afro-haired, cocoa-skinned boy from Gary, Indiana was him. If he was attempting to erase our collective memory of his Black past by way of skin bleaching and plastic surgery, WHY did he always make sure to put photos and videos of himself as a child on a jumbo sized screen during each Jackson 5 medley he did on tour? Maybe he did that because he wanted us to remember who he still was!ā
āMJās children are white! not mixed!ā
But what about these people:
Like, Kitt Mcdonald (left), Daughter of Earth Kitt (right)? (who was mixed but was still BLACK, meaning that Mcdonald is also mixed with BLACK)
or
Rashida Jones?Ā
Daughter of Quincy Jones
and Peggy Lipton (middle; with Rashida on the right and Kidada Jones on the left)
or Wentworth Miller? (who has a black parent and a white parent btw)
itās called being āwhite passingā, famā¦and there are a lot of white-passing, mixed race people in the worldā¦
Like Paris Jackson (MJās daughter)
perhaps you should get out more :)
OH! and again, with this quote:
āevery shade we witnessed MJās skin transform into is indeed a part of the āBlack rainbowā of complexions we come inā.
Meaning that yes, the skin tones that Kitt, Paris, Wentworth and Rashida all possess are also apart of that āblack rainbowā of complexions that we black people come in :)
āMJ got multiple nose jobs because he hated being black!ā
Mkay but who among the glamorous people of Hollywood (black celebrities included) HASNāT gotten some type of surgery? And check this out: yes, MJ had a problem with his nose (you can thank years of teasing and bullying from his brothers AND his dad for that; he was a pretty sensitive kid/man you know)
But it had nothing to do with him hating his race. I repeat, it had nothing to do with him hating his race. He didnāt like it so he changed it. Thatās it. MJ was never ashamed of his race. Never hated being black. Also he only had like, 3 nose jobs (one of which was because of a broken noseand the other of whichĀ was to correct damage from that previousĀ rhinoplasty ).
ALSO, for all you āhis nose was so smallā folks, lemme tell you about this fancy little thing called contouring
you know, that way of doing makeup that makes a personās nose appear smaller than it is. Black people do this too you know
With all that being said, I leave you all with this little gem:
āSince when does someoneās dissatisfaction with themselves mean theyāre betraying you? If he hurt anyone, he hurt himself and that still doesnāt justify anyone sitting in judgment of him. Especially when, as a culture, we tend to spend the most money for things that make us look less like the way God intended us to look than ANYONE. He was not and is not the only Black performer whose looks changed over time. To make him the target of your criticism and ignore the others makes no sense. Thatās just plain hypocritical.ā
āIām a black American, I am proud of my race. I am proud of who I am. I have a lot of pride and dignityā. -Ā Michael Jackson
