My Only Hope
Tadashi Hamada x Reader
My Only Hope
Note: (THIS IS A NEW FIC) So I watched Big Hero 6 recently, and I’m still not over Tadashi Hamada. Every time I think I am, I’m not. Aaaaaarghh that boy… Willing to write part 2…
Warnings: Death mention?? Lots of fluff tho.
Word Count: 1828
It was quiet the night it happened. A sky full of stars looked down on the ever-glowing metropolis that was San Fransokyo. Hiro Hamada was fast asleep in his bed, Baymax tucked into his charging case. The wind rustled the curtains on Tadashi’s side of the room, hanging over the window of his empty bed.
Silence was thick, peaceful. Hiro was so tucked into his sleep, lost in his restless dreams, that he almost didn’t hear the sound of footsteps on the other side of the room. Almost. Hiro bolted awake and tore through the room, pushing aside the barrier that divided the space.
He hoped beyond hope that somehow, after all this time, Tadashi had finally come home. But instead, there was a stranger standing in the breeze. Someone who looked up at the boy, now fifteen years old, with wide violet eyes. Hiro caught the faintest tuft of pink hair sticking out of her black cloak. In her hand was Tadashi’s journal, and she pressed a finger to her lips, black nail polish gleaming in the moonlight.
There was a look in her eyes. Something Hiro couldn’t place. Something determined, a look that knew more than it was letting on.
“I’m going to make it better.” She spoke softly. Hiro hadn’t the slightest clue what she was talking about, but he had an idea. “But I need this.” She held up the notebook. “And you.”
A glowing ring of fluctuating pink and purple light opened up beside her. She grabbed Hiro’s wrist and stepped through, pulling him with her.
Immediately, the world changed.
Everything around Hiro was brightly lit, so white it was almost blinding. All of the walls and floors were white, the bed, the desk, the lamp, the blankets, everything. And once the stranger shed her cape, so were her clothes beneath it. In this stark, colorless place, this girl was like a rainbow, bright and colorful. She set Tadashi’s journal on the desk and turned to face Hiro, finally giving him a chance to take her in for all she was.
“Who are you?” He managed to get out.
“I’m a friend of your brother’s.” She stated, holding out her hand. “(Y/N) (L/N).” Hiro shook it with a dazed look in his eyes. He had heard that name before. He just couldn’t remember where.
“Where are we? How did we get here?”
“Teleport tech.” She replied, taking a seat on the bed. She motioned for Hiro to come sit next to her. “I need your help with your brother’s notes.”
“Notes for what?”
“His next big project.” She flipped open the book and skimmed through the pages before settling on the one she was looking for. “Time travel.”
***
You and Hiro had been working nonstop for weeks. You didn’t tell anyone about the project. It was a secret you kept to yourselves. You still hadn’t told Hiro who you were to his brother. You had only actually met Tadashi a few times. A handful of them. You had met him in the cafe. And then in your physics class. He took you home from a party once. And then, an older Tadashi had come from the future to deliver a message.
‘You’re my only hope.’
You closed your eyes, thinking about it. This guy you had barely even been friends with had entrusted you with his life. With his future. With his everything. Maybe there was something about your future he knew that you didn’t. The more you thought it over, you were certain that was the case.
It was the way he looked at you when he came. He didn’t say much, his fingertips barely brushing your hand when he gave you the note. And then he was gone as fast as he had come.
Later that night, you got the news about his death and it sank in that the Tadashi that had appeared to you was not the one you had known for the past year.
You didn’t tell Hiro all of that. You figured either he wouldn’t believe you or he would get his hopes up. You knew as well as he did that he didn’t deserve another heartbreak.
“You never did tell me why.” Hiro was on his way out of your lab when he turned around to look at you.
Your pencil moved across the page in front of you for a few more seconds before you realized he had been speaking to you. “Huh?”
“I mean, he never really talked about you. I didn’t even know who you were until-”
“He and I are something someday. I can feel it in the root of my being. And if…you know what? Never mind. I’ll see you tomorrow. Bright and early.”
Hiro nodded and managed a soft smile. There was hope there. The same hope you had seen in his brother’s eyes. “Big day.”
“Yeah…big day.”
***
It had taken a month, but Hiro had rewired your Transport Tech bracelet with the time travel technology his brother had imagined. You were going to do it. You had decided that. You weren’t letting Hiro get too close to the blast. Part of your unspoken promise to Tadashi was to keep Hiro safe, despite his protests.
Hiro had programmed the date and time into your watch down to the second. You had approximately five seconds, more likely less to toss Tadashi through the portal and get through it yourself. Hiro promised to stay in the safe zone, and you trusted him. You couldn’t afford to lose him after all the time you had spent together working to save his brother.
Once he (and Baymax just in case) was behind the line of duct tape that designated the end of the blast zone, were some of the explosion to get through the breach, you raised the hood of your cloak over your head and flipped the switch of the small but powerful device.
The portal opened beside you, tearing a hole in the fabric of time and space. You stepped into the inferno, bright and hot, right in front of the doors of the building just as Tadashi was running in to save the day. He was so heroic. So noble and brave, even if it had only turned out to hurt him in the end.
Time seemed to stop when he ran through those glass doors, the light of the fire lighting up every feature. Everything slowed around you and suddenly it felt like wading in honey. His eyes widened at the sight of you and the ring of light behind you. Confusion tugged at his handsome features, and your heart raced as you held out a hand, a desperate look of pleading on your face.
And though he hesitated, resulting in perhaps one of the most agonizing and slow moments of your entire life, he took your hand, and you pulled him through. As soon as both of his feet were on solid ground on the other side, you slammed the button on your wrist to close the ring, just as the blast erupted from the building you had just escaped.
Then, you promptly passed out.
***
When you finally stirred from the world of black, you realized you were somewhere other than your own bed. There was a beeping to your left and a voice that hardly sounded human.
“(Y/N) suffered an extreme loss of blood-sugar, resulting in her losing consciousness. She now appears to be completely stable.”
“Thank you, Baymax.” Another voice you recognized, but hadn’t heard in a long time. Your heart raced, causing the beeping beside you to speed up. A heart monitor, but you doubted you were in a hospital.
Once the blurriness left your eyes and you could see again, you looked around at a room full of strangers. And Tadashi and Hiro. Tadashi’s hand was clasped tight around yours, and he was sitting in a chair beside the bed you were in. His bed in the apartment above the cafe.
“Woah, easy there.” He helped you sit up gently, his voice soft. You didn’t know how long you had been out for, but you assumed Tadashi had already had his reunion with all of these people. Some you recognized from school, and the other, an older woman, you assumed was his aunt, who ran the cafe downstairs.
“Good morning.” Your voice was so groggy you hardly recognized it. It hurt to speak. Something cold pressed into your hand. A glass of water. You took a long sip and then leaned back against the pillows that had been piled on the bed. Tadashi’s bed.
“She lives!” Shouted a guy you recognized as the school mascot, Fred. Everyone surrounding shushed him.
“Hiro told me what you did for me.” Tadashi sat on the bed, wrapping his hand around yours. “And…what would have happened if you didn’t.”
“It’s no problem. Anytime.” You shrugged, a smirk tugging at your lips. Some of the people in the room, well, all of them except Baymax really, left the room to give you and Tadashi some space.
“I think you deserve more than a pat on the back.” Tadashi’s expression was soft, careful. You could tell how many thoughts must be running through his head about the whole situation. He had been dead for a year, and only now had you gone back to rectify things, bringing him ahead so it wouldn’t mess with the timeline and prevent the events from unfolding the way they did. You and Hiro knew you couldn’t make any paradoxes, or it’d mess everything up.
“Well, I mean, you Princess Leia’d me. What could I do?” You chuckled softly. God, you were sore. You weren’t even sure why. Maybe it was some unforeseen effect of the time travel.
“I Princess Leia’d you?”
“Yeah. Future you popped in and told me I was your only hope. Couldn’t just leave you hanging.”
“It’s always been you…” Tadashi shook his head, whispering softly.
“What’s that?”
“Well, I…” red tickled his cheeks, and he reached up to scratch the back of his neck. “I didn’t think it was any secret that I liked you.”
“This is news to me, Hamada.” You raised an eyebrow, amused. “But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have the most monumental crush on you too. Which is probably why I’ve been working for the past year to bring you back from the dead.”
“Thanks for that. Again.” He made eye contact and then looked out the window. Sunlight, bright and warm, shone on your skin.
“So how long have I been out?”
“Just overnight. Figured we’d be better off treating you here in case the doctors asked too many questions about your time-travel injury.”
“Good call.”
“I…I owe you big time. So, anything you need-”
“Well, you could start by taking me out sometime, Hamada.” You suggested.
Tadashi grinned and nodded. “I think that could be arranged.”

Imagine studying for finals with Tadashi
——— Masterlist / Ko-Fi ———
Finals week had begun in SFIT and all of the students were rushing to check out books and to reserve study rooms in order to prepare for their tests. The library was filled to the brim and no table or whiteboard was left unused. This was why [Name] and Tadashi had decided to use the former’s dorm in order to study peacefully. Though the clock in the room read 2:15 am, the two showed no time of stopping anytime soon. With their final counting for 30% of their grade, they were using all of their free time to study but [Name] was officially burned out.
Shifting in her seat, she let out a loud groan before burying her face in her hands. “I can’t. Everything is blurring together and I have no idea what I’m reading at this point.”
Looking up from his textbook, Tadashi shook his head. “I feel the same but you can’t give up.” Bookmarking his page, he closed his book and stood up. Stretching, he let out a sigh as a pop was heard. “Come on. Let’s take a break for a bit.”
Can you do 30 and 38 with Tadashi?
30. “I can tell by your sarcastic undertones, rude comments and sheer lack of common decency, that you and I could be best friends in no time.” & 38. “There’s something about you makes me smile.”

“This is fucking ridiculous!” For half an hour now you’ve been trying to get your stupid moped–which is really more of a scooter–to start. Thanks to the old contraption, you are now twenty minutes late to a job interview at a local cafe you had applied to earlier this week. At least you were able to call the cafe’s owner and tell her about your sorry, stranded ass. In response, she told you not worry about it, that she’d interview you when you got to the cafe. Bless her soul. “Stupid piece of junk! Why’d you choose today of all days to quit on me!”
You’re about to kick it out of frustration when someone clears their throat. You turn quickly, surprised by the sudden noise.
“Everything okay?” The newcomer asks you with curious brown eyes and kind smile.

Tadashi Hamada - Drunk Karaoke
A/N: I wrote this yearssssss ago after first falling for Tadashi Hamada and being inspired by this clip of his voice actor Daniel Henney singing on YouTube for a different role. I hope you can listen to the audio and enjoy imagining Tadashi serenading you in this story <3 “No.” Tadashi breathed, staring at his phone.
“What?” You asked, approaching him.
“No, no, no, no, no, no, no! This can’t be happening!!!”
“What is it?” You repeated yourself.
“I only got 65% on the last assignment! I don’t understand, I worked so hard!!!” He huffed.
You searched yourself for some way to encourage him. “There’s other assignments right? I’m sure you’ll do better on them. Maybe just check with the professor on what you were getting wrong and see if you can make up for it?”
“No, not in this class, she’s very strict. Absolutely no makeups, she’s warned us. I could still check why though so at least I’ll know… ”
“Why don’t you come out with us tonight?” Fred offered, suddenly appearing in the back of the emptying nerd lab. “Yeah, you won’t be able to hear back from that teacher tonight anyways and you got nothing else to do. Have a little fun for a night. Wasabi is DDing”
You looked to Tadashi, curious his response. Your boyfriend wasn’t much of a bar goer but he did go with his friends on occasion, usually as the designated driver though.
He sighed. “Yeah, okay, might cheer me up after all this.”
You crowded around the bar, each taking turns ordering. Except Fred. He took 3 shots and ran off to dance. Wasabi got a diet coke since he’s the designated driver and Honey ordered a martini. Everyone looked surprised when Tadashi got ready to order too.
He shrugged at their expressions. “It’s been a long terrible day that I really just want to forget.”
“Well if you’re in the mood for forgetting…” Gogo paused and ordered some complicated drink then slid it to him. “It’s my own little concoction. Strongest stuff I’ve ever had.”
Tadashi eyed it hesitantly.
“I…don’t know Gogo,” Honey said looking at Tadashi. “You don’t have to drink anything if you don’t want to.” She reminded him.
He shrugged. “Why not. What have I got to lose.” He said and began drinking Gogo’s concoction.
“Hey! Look! It’s karaoke night!” Wasabi said turning his attention to the stage opposite the bar.
Honey gasped. “Tadashi! You should sing!!”
You looked at him shocked and impressed. “You sing?!!”
He shook his head. “Only in the shower or when I don’t notice I’m doing it. I’m not nearly drunk enough for karaoke.”
“Well then! That can be arranged!” You laughed and ordered him a shot.
He chuckled. “I would have never thought you the type to get someone drunk and take advantage of them.” He teased.
“What can I say,” you shrugged, “I love singers”
"Oh, do you?” He asked watching, interested.
You smiled at him coyly and he quickly took the shot. Not long later, he’s making dumb jokes and like a hyper little kid.
He giggled as he stared at you.
“What?” You smirk.
“There’s two’a you.” He giggled more. “This is so awesome. I love having two’a you. But wait which one is the real you ‘cause I don'wanna acciden’ally kiss someone who’s not my girlfriend.” His eyes grew big as he slurred. “Whoa, yeah, that would be bad….but two of you!!!” He exclaimed excitedly again.
You laughed with Honey and Gogo at him.
“So does that mean you’re drunk enough to sing for me now?” You asked.
“Sing?! OHH YEAHHHHH I WAS GONNA SIIIING FOR YOUUU, okay okay just….just wait here….” He said and got up from the bar stool, stumbling a bit. “Just stay here…” He held his hands up, “I’ll I’ll be right back…okay?”
“Okay, I’ll be here.” You smiled.
“Okay.” He said and started to leave but then ran back to kiss you, catching you off guard, and then ran back to the stage.
Gogo chuckled at your surprised look. “Yeah, he gets a bit clingy when he’s drunk.”
“A bit clingy?!” Honey said as if what Gogo said was a terrible exaggeration.
Gogo chuckled again. “Okay, a lot clingy! Once he wouldn’t let Honey go to the bathroom alone."
"He kept saying I was his best friend and not to go but I was like ‘Tadashi I really have to pee! And what about Fred he’s your best friend too?’ Thankfully that got him distracted enough to tackle Fred with hugs instead of me.” Honey explained.
You laughed at the story with the girls.
“Next up! Ta-” the MC paused and looked at Tadashi who was just off stage “dude, I can’t read your handwriting… what does it say?”
Tadashi just grabbed the mic from him instead.
“Heeeelloooooooooo Sanfransokyooooo! It is I, Tadashi Hamada, here to serenade you…..buuuuuuuut mostly just my girlfriend ‘cause she’s a dork waffle and got me drunk so I would sing to her.” He slurred. “But it’s okay ‘cause she’s really cute. Okay! This is a song! Called…ahh….umm….a thing, I dunno……anyways I umm OH! Oh it’s starting!!! Everyone it’s starting, shhhhh! Wasabi it’s starting, look, shhhhh!!!”
You and the group laughed at him and Honey got out her phone to video it. Frankly, you were quite impressed with his talent.
When he had finished, the whole bar applauded like mad. “Thank you!!!” He shouted and dropped the mic. He picked up his baseball cap that had fallen while he was head banging, then jumped off stage.
You got up off your barstool to meet him. “You were amazing!!!!” You shouted over the new music playing. You reached your arms out to hug him but he pulled you into a sloppy kiss instead.
“Let’s dance.” He grinned and pulled you deeper into the crowd.
Moments later, you bumped into Honey again.
“IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU GUYS EVERYWHERE!!!” She yelled over the music. “YOU GOTTA COME SEE FRED!!!!” She dragged you off behind her and soon you come within view of a mechanical bull that Fred was totally rocking.
Having a few drinks in yourself, you decide you want to try it too after Fred. Tadashi didn’t realize this at first though, so got upset when he saw you getting on it.
“WhAdder youuu doing?!!” He scolded.
You shrugged. “Giving it a try.”
“No no no no no!!” He said, running over and trying to carry you away from it. “I don’t want you to get hurt!”
“But Fred didn’t get hurt.” You pointed out.
“But Fred is a idiot so even if he did I woulden’ be too worried. But you’re too pridddyyy t’ fall an’ break your face. Fred can break his face if he wants though.” He slurred and pulled at your hand. “C'mon let’s do something else.” The drunken boy looked around the bar for something else to do.
“LOOK DARTS I LOVE DARTS DON’T YOU LOVE DARTS?!” he said excitedly and pulled the darts from the board then backed up. “I’m sooooooooo good at darts, just watch me,” he said, giving you a charming crooked grin and a wink.
He threw the first dart and it hit the edge of the board. The second hit about 2 inches from the target, and the third….hit your forehead.
“Aaahhhhh!!!” You grabbed at your temple before looking down to see the bright red blood on your hands.
“OH NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!” He rushed over to you. “I’m SO sorry Y/N!!!!!” He apologized, looking at the cut and hugging you. “We gotta get Baymax! Baymax!! BAYMAX!!!” he began calling and wandering a little. “OW! BAYMAX! OW! BAYMAX! ACTIVATE!!”
You held your stinging temple and ran after him, grabbing his arm with your non-bloody hand. “Hun, Baymax is at home.” You pointed out.
“Oh” He paused, looking worriedly at the dripping blood. “Well let’s go find him then!!!” He said, determinedly scooping you up into his arms and heading to the doors.
Once outside he wandered up and down the street almost whacking your head on a light post. “Umm…” he hiccupped, “where are we??”
You laughed. “How bout we get Wasabi to drive us instead?”
He nodded, setting you down and going back inside with you to find your friend.
***
“Aghh, my head…” Tadashi groaned the next morning.
You rolled over in bed to face him. “Yeah, I know that feeling.”
He looked at the bandaid plastered to your forehead. “Did I do that?” He moved his hand up to his head, groaning again. “Everything is so hazy.”
“It’s okay, it wasn’t that bad.” You reassured.
He turned over to pick up his phone, checking the time to see how late the two of you had slept in. In doing so though he noticed an email notification.
“Oh my gosh. I can’t believe it.” He breathed.
“What?” You asked curiously.
“My professor… she’s actually going to let me make up my grade!”
“That’s amazing!!!” You cheered.
He looked at the time again. “Not if I don’t make it to meet her!”
Tadashi jumped out of bed, instantly regretting the fast movement.
You cringed as you watched him place a hand to his mouth, willing himself not to vomit.
Hurriedly he changed out of his pyjamas and into the first clothes he could find.
“Good luck!” You called after him as he rushed away.

A small bear
Jay x Fem! Reader..
Jay coming behind reader holding her waist while reaching to get her something she was struggling to get off the top shelf
my favorite vk <33
masterlist
Jay is walking through the halls of Auradon Prep, trying and failing to fight his growing irritation. It hasn't been the greatest day, to say the least, and it’s wearing on him now. He likes the school, he likes his friends, he likes a lot of things about the place, but sometimes being the poster child for the entire Isle of the Lost is hard to bear. It’s just a lot of responsibility, that’s all, a lot of responsibility for a boy who’d rather just run around all day instead of knowing that every one of his screwups is actively harming the chances that other VKs can come to the mainland.
Needless to say, it’s not all swords and roses with Jay, which is why he couldn’t be happier when classes finally end for the day and he can retreat back to the dorms for some solitude. The living quarters have never seemed more appealing, especially when Jay rounds a corner and sees her.
