Phandom Reverse Bang: Face the Music!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the theme reveal for the winter edition of the PRB!

This edition, we’re doing the theme: face the music!

What does this mean?

We’re asking for artists to use songs to inspire their prompts! We’re not saying to create songfics: we’re just asking for the artists to take a song and create a prompt for it. We will be asking for the specifics of the song including the artist and title to add to a playlist for claiming.

This being said: ARTISTS please remember that our word count minimum is only 1.5k this time, so try not to do prompts that are complex. We are asking for prompts to be kept as easy and simple as possible.

*Note: the condensed schedule. We are aware that we have condensed the schedule as much as possible. We did this purposely because of the Old School Phandom Big Bang. We want to make sure that the participants of that big event can also feel comfortable participating in this one since we have noticed some overlap of participants from past PRB’s that are participating in the OSPBB. 

Thinking about signing up?

We communicate via email and on discord. Posting/reblogging happens on Tumblr. You need to let us know IMMEDIATELY if this will not work for you.

You may sign up for no more than three roles! Each role is a commitment that takes up time! Feel free to shake it up as an artist/author/beta. If you want to be all three: go for it!

Make sure you’re able to receive messages and asks on tumblr. This will be how your team will initially get in touch with you and we (the admins) will occasionally use this to contact you (we’ll keep it to a minimum, dw). 

Artists

You are responsible for a complete art piece by your posting date. 

You are responsible for providing support and details to your author so they can write a fic that is true to your art. 

Communication is key.

Authors

On your posting date you must have one completed fic that is at least 1.5k words. You are allowed to go over this word count but don’t shake it off. It will still require some effort.

Having a beta is required!!! You are in charge of contacting your beta(s) and keeping them informed!!! We will provide authors with a directory of the betas to claim! You may enlist your own beta, but please let us know and provide the URL of your beta. Claiming a beta from our directory is encouraged because that’s how new friends are made!

Be upfront about your needs, concerns, and expectations with your beta and artist. 

Communication is key.

Betas

You will be selected by authors from a beta directory after you have selected your preferred prompts. While this may seem spooky and scary, we have systems in place so that betas will work on a fic that they are comfortable with. 

Your job is to provide feedback and edit the author’s fic so it can shine bright (like a diamond). 

Talk to your author about their expectations before you start editing. Your job is to amplify an author’s work, not rewrite it. Be upfront about your strengths and weaknesses. Ask them what they need. 

Communication is key.

Betas will not be guaranteed a fic but we hope that most of you will be claimed.

Dan was born into a world where your eyes mean everything. If you have grey eyes you’re fine, but those with colored eyes are usually blind. Dan is one of the few who are not. 3.4k (This chapter), 10.5k (total)

This means that even if you didn't sign up for the event you can claim a fic that you wish to create art for as lomg as you are 18 years old or older.

The art forms accepted are:

2 + traditional or digital paintings.

3 + moodboards

3 + gifs

1 + animation

Playlists custom made for the fic explaining where the songs apply to each part of the fic.

Other forms of art. (must be something that you take time and care to do. The fics will be 50k+ so the art needs to be made purposely as well.)

How to claim: go to the spreadsheet and comment "tumblrUrl, claim 1" if you haven't claimed anything yet, or "tumblrUrl, claim 2" if you have already claimed a fic. If you never signed up to the event we will need you to send us an ask off anon with your email.

Super Amazing Project: Unsolved - Artworks

Hey everyone! This is for the @phandombigbang​ 2020 edition! I put a lot of work into these pieces so I hope you like them!

My teammates this year were @yikesola​ (author) and @yourfriendlyblogstalker (beta)! Renne put a lot of work into the fic and it’s really good so please check it out! Grad a hot chocolate and snuggle up in bed on a cold night. It’s the best way to read this fic, trust me!

Super Amazing Project: Unsolved

Summary: They find a hallway once they’re inside with a big, wide, broken window. It lets in more than enough light to film and the shot of the graffitied wall behind them is interesting. Phil sets up the tripod. They stand in frame, a safe foot of space between them. They both clear their throats. “Hey guys, and welcome to another episode of The Super Amazing Project!”

A fic about canon divergence and hauntings. 

P.S. There are two mini-games of sorts in the artworks! In the first, there are 5 ‘spooky’ things in it! In the second, there is the map. See if you can spot these 5 things, or work out where the map is (it’s not some random place, think about it and you’ll be able to get it)!

There’s a prize for the first person to answer each correctly (i.e. 2 prizes in total), but you can go ahead and do it for fun too :) The prize is being able to prompt me for an artwork or a fic if you’d prefer. These can be anything your heart desires! Or, if you want something else, I’m open for discussion! Note that I reserve the right to reject anything other than art/fic if it makes me uncomfortable.

For Authors: 

Sign Ups are Open the entire month of September from the 1st to 30th! 

You are responsible for a fic that must be at least 50,000 words in length

Posting will begin in April so don’t worry if that word count seems intimidating: you have a long time to push through and finish! 

Given how much of a commitment this is, we are limiting authors to just that role, meaning you cannot be another role. However, if you want to talk to us because you know your limits, please do so! 

We ask for you to please choose a beta to work with for the event: this can be done on our directory, or by your own choice. You will let us know your choice on your sign up form! 

We also encourage you to take up multiple betas! Given that these are long fics, it never hurts to have multiple sets of eyes looking over it! That just means your finished product will be that much more polished. 

You don’t need to know your fic idea until September 30th! What we mean by this is that you can sign up now, but your form will be editable until the 30th. You can change, add-to, and alter your fic idea as many times as you want until then. 

Please only sign up for this event if you support authors and artists in the ability to use their creative expression. We want this to be a fun event where people can allow their creative abilities to flourish and that can’t happen if there are people who don’t want that same thing. We just ask to please only sign up if you are open to supporting your fellow authors and artists in their creative expression.

Summary: Dan is 18 years old when the news is suddenly sprung upon him that he is next line to be the next king of Genovia, but things don’t go as smoothly as he thought, between having a suddenly busy schedule, a new lifestyle, an arranged marriage that Dan has no control over, and worst of all, Philip Lester trying to steal his crown.
