“I am just way too into sex to ever actually give it up. But I mean I guess those people have never had it so they don’t know what they are really missing out on.” Mia replied, unsure of how people did that sort of thing honestly. She just liked being intimate far too much.  “Well it’s good that you agree with me on things, because we are getting married after all.”

Trevor chuckled a little back at her, “Yes, I am well aware.” He smirked, “And I agree. But if you think about how addictive it can be, it also sort of makes sense. I don’t know.” He said with a shrug in thought. “Happy wife, happy life.” He winked back at her.

“I mean, I don’t think they are allowed to force it on people. I guess I am going to have to look into it honestly. I never went to an American public school, so I don’t really know too much about them.” Harmony replied with a small shrug. But if they were going to push religion on her daughter than Ellie would be going to a private school somewhere that wouldn’t. “I guess that is true.”

Trevor nodded, “We have catholic schools in the Uk, so that is why I am wondering. Had a few friends that went. They have to pray each morning and stuff before their day starts.” He explained.

“I own Tres Chic Boutique,” she smiled softly. “It’s my little child.” Ellie nodded in thought as she listened. “Matilda is three, but she has her moments where she still acts like a puppy. It’s adorable when I don’t have to work the next day.” Of course, most of the time she just brought her dog to the boutique. It was nice to have her running around. 

 “Hm.. Is that the one in town?” He asked her out of curiosity as he had read the name somewhere in passing. He couldn’t locate it in his mind but he made a mental note to keep out for it in the future. “Right.. I certainly hope Ace behaves a lot more when he reaches the age of three.” He chuckled back at her.

“I honestly never understood how anyone could wait until marriage honestly.” Mia replied shaking her head. She enjoyed it far too much and the idea of having to wait to be with someone that way seemed like torture. “Because what if you get married and then find out you aren’t compatible that way.”  She added before shaking her head. “Today has worked out for me in many ways.”

Trevor smirked back at her, “Yeah I guess that is fair honestly.” He nodded in agreement with her. He was glad she had not insisted on something like that now that they were engaged, but then again he would have been very surprised if she had. “That is a good point. I guess the people who wait just rely on other things really than just the physical stuff.” He shrugged. “I could not agree more.” He said as he reached for her hand to give it a gentle squeeze.

“That sounds nice.” Harmony replied knowing that family was very important. Something she hated about Ashton was how far it was from all of her family. “Not unless I wake up to some divine message from God or something.” She added with a chuckle. “But obviously when she’s older she can make her own choices about that stuff.”

Trevor nodded back at her, “So it isn’t something the schools are like forcing onto the kids and such then?” He asked out of curiosity as he wasn’t sure how it all worked really as he didn’t have kids of his own. “That is fair. I guess people go through life with different experiences and to some it makes more sense than to others.” He shrugged.

“That’s because I’ve got you under some sort of spell. You didn’t think I was nearly this wonderful until we slept together for the first time.” Mia replied with a small shrug. That had been when things had really changed for them. She continued to her her food, pretty pleased with them. “I would have been pretty disappointed after the day we’ve been having.”

Trevor laughed back at her, “That is a lie. I have always thought you were wonderful.” He reassured her, “But sure, being intimate with you was different and made it different. I think it always does, which is why some people chose to wait until they are married I guess.” He shrugged back at her. It was like an emotional bond in a way, in his opinion. “I am glad that it worked out for you then.” He smiled back at her.

“I didn’t even have that. One set of my grandparents still lives in China so I don’t see them very often, and the other set just couldn’t really care less about that sort of stuff.” Harmony replied with a small shrug. “Which is fine I guess. I’ve never known any different.” 

“That is fair! I had mine close by. One in the next village over and the other a couple of hours away.” He said with a shrug. “Yeah I am the same. I take it this one is going to bible school anytime soon then?” He asked as nudged Ellie’s side.

“I was so competitive. I danced, so I always thought I would win until someone did win and I got annoyed. It was horrible,” she smiled as she shook her head. She slowly started to realize how stubborn she was as a child. “It could be really relaxing for you,” she edged on as if she was going to change his mind. 

“Oh so you were one of those.” He teased her, even though he knew his sister was like that too. He laughed again, “I appreciate the encouragement, but I am not going to start doing yoga. For everyone’s sake.”

“Yeah, I open in an hour,” she gave a small nod. She was still tired and the thought of opening was tiring, even though it was her place. “I’m getting there. Matilda decided that I needed to be awake half the night because she got her sleep while I’m at work. Which was great, but I got enough. I hope, anyway,’ she smiled softly.

“Oh right! Where do you work?” He added out of curiosity. “Yeah, Ace is still a puppy so he is still up during the night sometimes even though it is getting better. It is worse on the days when he hasn’t had a long enough walk.” He added with a shrug.

“Religion wasn’t really practiced in my house when I was a kid, so I’ve never really been into that sort of stuff myself either.” Harmony replied with a small shrug. “I am happy some people find comfort in that stuff but it’s not for me.”

“Yeah, I am the same. I just didn’t grow up around it so I don’t have much of a relationship to it myself other than when my grandparents thought me or said.” He shrugged.

“Yes, that is what they say. Which is good for me because my best can be a nightmare.” She added with a chuckle. Mia saw their food coming towards them and was happy when it was placed in front of them. Once the waitress was gone she popped a fry into her mouth. “Perfect, just how I remember.”

 Trevor shook his head back at her, “I think you are wonderful through and through.” He reassured her. He would not have asked her to spend the rest of their lives together if he didn’t think so. He took a bite out of his burger, “Good, I am glad to hear it.” He said, glad at least something positive had come out of their trip as he figured it overall must have been rather emotional for her.

Rosie almost sat  back in shock for a moment at the man’s admittance. “You’ve never played twister? Really?” She had no clue why that was a surprise, but she definitely thought it was something that kids did. “I was horrible at it because I was competitive and get mad when someone takes the circle I wanted,” she made a small smile as took a drink of coffee.

Trevor nodded his head slowly at her words, “I mean, no? Not that I can remember anyway.. I might have as a kid, but other than that I can’t say I have.” He admitted with a shrug. “Ah I see.” He chuckled, “Well I doubt I’d be any good at it, especially if it is anything like yoga.”

“I mean maybe, I was a lot more agreeable back then.” Mia replied with a small chuckle. She was pretty passive back in those days when it came to that sort of stuff, because she had wanted to be liked. “I’m sure glad he didn’t either.” She added, knowing that if she’d gotten married back then she never would have met Trevor.

“Fair enough.” He chuckled, “I guess I have learned how to handle you at your worse so I deserve you at your best as well isn’t that what they say?” He smirked. At least he thought he did seeing he had learned to get to know her and wasn’t offended is she was in a mood.

“I guess that is fair.” Harmony replied knowing that most places were smaller than New York, and that she didn’t have any immediate plans to go anywhere bigger any time soon. “Oh same, but it seems that every church in the area is packed on Sunday.”

Trevor nodded, “Yeah I guess the South really does live up to its standards when it comes to church and stuff.” He nodded in agreement with her. “I only went as a kid with my grandparents personally, so I guess I am just not used to it.”

“From what I understood, it can be different for people not actually in combat. People like me. And thank God for that. Believe me, you don’t want someone like me out there attempting to fight for your freedom. We’d all be fucked.” Vince chuckled, then listened to the younger man, a smirk growing upon his face. ‘How true. We are all products of our environment. Many animals that were abused never have the causal aggression conditioned out of them. Us humans are far more complex, so the damage is even more profound. You surprise me, Mr. Hastings. Turning into quite the philosopher of your own. Mind you, I knew you had your own beliefs and opinions, everyone does, but I suppose part of me thought you just liked to listen to me talk, no matter how uninteresting the words involved were.” 

Trevor chucked back with him as he spoke, “I am with you there.. Being a cop is a lot different than being a soldier at war I am sure..” He could not even imagine going through some of the things he’d imagine people at war went through. Trevor looked back up at him as he spoke, smiling ever so slightly back at him, “What can I say, I have my moments.” He laughed before shrugging, “Or maybe I am just warming up to you a lot more than I did before. I am not the type to express my opinion on everything except when I feel like I am not in the wrong.” He told him with a slight smile. “But listening to you speak is also something I don’t mind seeing you seem to have a lot at heart.” He chuckled back at him.

“Okay perfect, it’s settled then. Ring shopping and then hotel.” Mia replied with a small smirk. She loved how willing Trevor was to agree to these sort of things. She shook her head before pulling out her phone. “I didn’t really have a reason to be familiar with places that sold engagement rings. I was fifteen and it’s not like I was one of those girls who thought I’d marry my high school boyfriend or anything.” She added before she pulled out Google to search.

Trevor nodded in agreement, “Sounds like a plan to me.” He chuckled, just hoping now that they would be able to find her something she liked and that is was available for purchase. “No? I am still pretty sure he would have loved to marry you though. Even though I am glad he didn’t.”

“Fair enough. I lived in the biggest city on the East Coast too, which probably helps. It just seems small now compared to New York.” Harmony replied knowing that her perspective had changed when she moved there. “That’s because we are in the Bible Belt, Trevor. Sunday is for praying.”

“Anything is going to feel small compared to New York.” He chuckled, still thinking that to be true as he even doubted that a place like LA would even compare. He chuckled back at her, “I guess you are right even though I tend to do other things than pray on a Sunday.”
