Nana: Do something you're not supposed to. (CLOSED)
Even by running her fastest, Nana wasn’t able to get over there in time to help salvage Turbo’s lead…well, that lead wasn’t saveable the moment the kart turned sideways, but the little eskimo girl was being optimistic, as usual, and elected to overlook that particular fact. However, Turbo did see her coming, as it was evident in the shocked expression and incredulous tone of voice…but then, Nana was disappointed to see him sink lower in his seat, as if she was trying to avoid him.
"Hey…" she said softly, approaching the side of the kart as carefully as she could, placing mitten-covered hands on the rim of the cockpit. "…I know what you said. But I couldn’t help it. I wanted to see the greatest racer ever in action, you know? And for what it’s worth, you did good out here tonight, Turbo. I hope you can understand that…"
He covered his face when she got so close to the edge of his car, guess sinking into the seat didn’t make her forget why she was here or that she saw him. Slowly he scooted back up just enough so that his eyes peeked out from over the door and he could look at her. He wanted to sink back down again but hearing say he still did good did make him feel a little better and he resisted hiding again.
"…. Thanks but not the greatest, that’s the best I’ve done since I’ve been plugged in and I still lost," He glared out at the track. The twins didn’t even bother to finish the laps they were just mocking him at the finish line and walking away oh so confidently, “I’m broken or something." He mumbled pulling his knees to his chest.
It hurt her to see him like this. As cocky and thick-headed as the other Turbos were, it also seemed positively unnatural for a Turbo of all sprites to be sulking about like this...and at this point, even with her optimistic outlook Nana could see that it was too late to help him save his lead. She followed his gaze out to the two older, blue-clad racers, a red-hot anger flashing in her chest for a moment. How dare they make fun of him like this. If they were so awesome, why didn't they help him out?
"Turbo...you're not broken," Nana said softly, moving one of her hands from the side of the car to place it on the racer's shoulder. "If this is the best you've done since you've been plugged in...well, that means you're improving, doesn't it? And broken characters don't get better, do they?"
The twins continued to laugh in the background, and Nana imagined stomping over to them and giving them both a swift kick in the face with her cleats...but that wouldn't help Turbo's situation in the slightest.
"...If you need help getting your kart back home, I can help," the eskimo girl offered. "I'm...I'm a lot stronger than I look. It comes from the work I do in my game."
