We went to a couple breweries yesterday. One was supposed to be closing but had already closed. A huge microburst happened right as we walked to the closed door. Frank went to grab the car while I hid under an overhang. A wind gust took my dress basically over my head so that was fun. I could NOT keep it down and finally had to shove it between my legs in the front and back. We were downtown and the wind tunnels are nuts during storms.

At the next place, I stepped outside to hit my weed pen. I returned quickly and 3 people were sitting with Frank and basically kept talking the entire 10 more minutes we were there. It felt rude to just move away but wtf, I don’t want to talk to you. The dad was saying how he knows every rule in the NFL but soccer is just a lot. I hate communal seating when all you want is to enjoy the person you are with. Then we went and got cheesesteaks and groceries.

There were 2 dogs at the brewery and I just felt bad for them. I am not the kind of person who brings my dog everywhere for various reasons.

I was insanely productive today decluttering 4 different areas! I cleared out my vanity, the trunk at the end of the bed, the bathroom vanity and the drawer in the shoe cabinet. All were just stuffed and now it’s manageable!

The never ending fireworks and lots of thunderstorms have Gus pretty fucked up. He hasn’t gone on a walk in 2 days, he stops at the threshold. The last few times he has gone to the driveway but heard something that spooked him. Poor guy. I’m thinking I might need to get him some trazodone, not a fireworks dose but 1-2, to help him get past it? I dunno. I’m just worried bc he is being boarded starting next Saturday and I don’t want him to be on edge.

I specifically ordered stuff that was supposed to arrive before we leave in a week. Now they are delayed and saying mid next week and I’m annoyed! I dealt with the bullshit old navy stuff and got my return and bought a couple other things. None of what I originally wanted though!

I ordered 3 items from Old Navy for my trip and received an orange tank top in size medium instead. So now I have to hope they believe me?? I don’t even have the bag anymore bc I wasn’t thinking and assumed the rest of my order was coming. Ugh!

Those of you who have had in person sleep studies:

They want me freshly showered and hair washed. Can my hair be wet/damp?

Why can’t I bring my pillow?? I hope there is a fan or noise machine.

I forgot to call the office and now they are closed. Ugh. Study is tomorrow night. I don’t expect good sleep but I need noise and my pillow to fall asleep!

I can’t post too many details but I had to sit through a fucking prayer before a work conference that included the word Lord about 37 times. He began and ended every sentence with Lord and peppered it throughout some sentences: “lord, we ask you lord, for your guidance as we meet here today lord. Lord, continue to watch over us lord, for we live in your light lord.”

My dad told a story at dinner about being on the golf course a couple days ago playing a “match”. He was competing against his friend and they had to walk due to wetness. My dad had a manual cart but his friend used one of the electric ones for the first time. The friend ended up messing up and driving it into a creek with an 8 foot drop and water on the 7th hole.

Instead of calling the pro shop of the club they belong to, this 76 year old man climbed down there, trying to lift it out. Those carts have massive battery packs plus the weight of his clubs/bag, plus water and mud. Another 70 year old climbed in too and they managed to get it out but the first guy had to quit 2 holes later because he was dizzy and was apparently covered in mud.

My dad had enough sense to not climb down there at least!

We have made our selection for the bathroom designer/contractor and have our first meeting next week! We went to dinner with my dad and explained why we chose it and that we had our $10,000 to contribute to it because the quote was a bit above the amount he had pledged. He offered us more money, which I suspected he would. He has always been of the mindset of buying the best and his way of showing his love is through money so I’m gonna accept it as part of who he is and try to not feel guilty.

I haven’t seen one of these high dives in a long time. When I was 8, I fell off the ladder near the top and hit the concrete pool deck below!

As annoying as this whole office situation (no AC, everything has been boxed up since May) has been, I’m going to really miss wfh in the afternoons. It won’t be until October that I have to transition to full time in office.
