I’m seeing the issue regarding shipping with Vanellope popping up on my dash here and there, so I’m throwing my two cents in so those that follow know where I stand with it:
No, I will not ship Vanellope with anyone at her canon age. She is 9. She is a minor and no matter how you try to paint it, it is either pedophilia or she is at the age where a love interest is considered gross (see: her reaction to Snow White asking if she’s ever been kissed -- “ew, barf!”). While I remember being a kid and getting a crush in elementary school on a classmate, that varies on the child and would be considered puppy love at most. However, looking at Vanellope’s character? I personally believe she wouldn’t even be into that. So that;s a no-go for shipping Vanellope with anyone at -- like I said -- her canon age.
Now, on the flip side, there are things called au’s and verses. I don’t see anything wrong with shipping Vanellope if she is being written in a completely different au where she is 18+. Say you want a human verse for her and wish to age her up for it. I don’t see anything wrong with that; there are different plot concepts that can be written when a character’s age is changed that make roleplaying interesting. Many people have child verses for their adult muses, so having the reverse shouldn’t be frowned upon.
The one thing I won’t support; though, is taking canon Vanellope and in the same timeline instantly aging her up. That...could be creepy, seeing as the rp partner’s adult muse treated and saw her as a child and then suddenly switched to being physically/romantically attracted to her. While I can see that situation being debated over, I’m not for it. So you won’t see that on this blog.
I do ship Vanellope when she is in a teen au, though: as in she was always (or grew into naturally being) a teenager/adult. Once again, I see nothing wrong with that since she is not a minor, nor was she viewed as a kid by the love interest before suddenly sprouting a chest and figure. With that being said, I single-ship with @blastedroads, played by Rich. Yes, his muse is Turbo. No, his Turbo is not the murderous King Candy we see in the first film. You will see how our interactions, and the characters’ type of bond, vary greatly depending on what au we happen to be writing in: ie. canon age? rivals, banter, platonic frienemies/sibling vibes. teen? rivals, slow burn tension and falling after meeting as teens. If anyone is upset about this, you can go read up on that muse and see the differences that make our ship work the way it has since 2013.

Hi, everyone! Happy New Year! I hope your holidays were lovely & that the new year has been off to a good start! I just want to touch base and update everyone on a few things.
Firstly, with the busy season over, I actually have time to write again -- which, I seriously need. Unwind time is a must and although it’s only been a few months since my activity on all blogs has ceased, it (and everyone here) has been missed.
Secondly, I still plan to babble on my thoughts regarding the second film! Trust me, I’m itching to get my opinions out there. That being said, I’m going to be tweaking headcanons and adding a verse or two onto this blog! So keep an eye out!
I’m headed down to Disneyworld tomorrow for a few days, but once I’m back? Expect my official 1k Follower Giveaway! Also, I plan to put a Ship/Dynamic Call out there soon, since active blogs I follow here are are spotty and many og blogs my Vanellope bonded with are gone.
Lastly, I now will be going by the name Winter. This is for privacy reasons; namely offline/outside people finding me on here. I don’t mind if you know my actual name, but I’d rather people not be able to pinpoint me that I know offline (it’s happened before). Slowly, my graphics will be switching to state my alias. ~
