Deconstructing Dublin
A few weeks ago I start a trip to discover Dublin with the intention of moving my business there and there are my first impressions of the city. Actually Dublin it's one of those places than you can love or hate but it's difficult to rest in the middle, so here's my point of view of the best and the worst sides of the city. THE GOOD STUFF . Are you working or managing internet/IT business?.. Then you will find this is an amazing place for that. The taxes are really low and there's some institutions that will help you a lot to place your business in Ireland. But even most important is that in here talent is all around, most of the people here is involved in IT business and in Dublin you will find the most important companies from around the globe. . Do you love music? If so, dublin is a place you can miss on your routemap. Here live music is all around, and you can enjoy of bands playing almost in every corner. Mosf of the city pubs are used to offering live music everyday so for the price of a pint you can enjoy a live concert. . The people. As other cities around Europe like Barcelona or Berlin, Dublin is made it by an international mix of cultures, so here you can find a really openminded people all around, that make it easy to match new friends and interesting people. THE BAD STUFF Of course, there's not all gold, Dublin has many things I don't like and here they are: . The weather. Actually Dublin has the worst weather I ever seen, it's cold and wet, rainy, asy is mostly grey and your chance of getting touched by a sun beam it's short. But the worst thing I would say is that there's not any differenced weather stations, I mean, summer is winter and winter is even more winter, so if you match a sunny day (which is an exception) you will see the people behavior change. NOTE: if this happens don't miss a second and take adventage of it cause you will find a really living city. It's remarcable to say that is this weather the responsible of the character of the people who's living here and Irish life is made it counting on that. So as they say, if it's raining, just stop on the pub and have a pint, once you're finish the rain will be done. . Quality of life is not so good as other places in Europe, houses are really old and the rents are high, the garbage collection is from two centuries ago, and there are many other little things that you will find are quite outdated, so if you are planning to came to Dublin, you are probably gonna miss some of the commodities your used to. Anyway there's nothing to fear of if you are a mind open person avid to live new experiencies. So there's just a few slices of what i had found in this city, moreover as long as I get used to living here I will be able to report more accurated impressions about Dublin. Cheers!
