"angel, are you keeping the plants company?"

High School Tropes: Soundwave Edition
Straight out the gate, Soundwave is that boombox student that will play his music in between classes. His music taste is pretty okay and most people like what he puts on, but woe betide you if you tell Soundwave that his music sucks.
Heâs VERY handy with anything mechanical, sit him down with something and in a few minutes he knows the basic of how it runs. He built his own boombox and has helped some teachers (and students) modify their school computer to increase efficiency.
Soundwave is pretty awkward with social interaction- he was left on his own a lot as a kid and never really got the hang of interacting with others in his species. He has a weird way of talking thatâs stiff and formal, only Megatron can guess what heâs saying without having him repeat himself or thinking about it for a few moments.
He likes having order and control over his surroundings, preferring heavily to stick to a routine (and having backup plans for any discrepancies) rather than being spontaneous. If heâs set on a goal, nothing will distract him from his endgame.
After watching some more TFA clips to get a better read on Soundwave, I think Soundwave may be on the autism spectrum for a few reasons. 1, he would have a huge fixation on electronics to the point where itâs all he really talks about. 2, he is extremely routine-dependent and if anything deviates from that routine, he struggles a LOT. 3, limited social interaction experience leaves him pretty isolated and leaves him to struggle especially with making eye contact.
