experiencing adolescence in the 2010s has fucked my perspective of the word “epic” totally beyond repair. i will forever view it in the same league as words like “awesomesauce” and “legitness” im sorry. theres just no going back
any time i read the word "epic" this fucking thing flashes in my mind
via Seattle Times:
Local Ballard raccoon has been spotted thriving in a remarkably unique and charming body
Yes he(?)'s actually factually real and has even been given an extremely millennial nickname: Jimothy. Wildlife experts advise everyone to just leave him alone and let him live his life
artists fuck better because we turn sex into art, masterpieces, mattresses become canvases where we can paint our love to someone with bodies.
its like, impossible to come up with anything funnier than the experience of seeing this post
pharoahs fuck better because they ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh put the pussy in a scarmophogoghs
commenting under art of a thin character "oh they look like they give the most dogshit hugs. like being embraced by a wet skeleton"
the koi in the koi pond waiting for you to feed them the food pebbles
i think about this post at least once a week
used to think it terribly silly (and kinda funny) when fantasy or sci-fi stories would have people refer to major recent historical events as The Flood or The Incident or The Revolution, and im sure historians fucking hate that because it's not helpful or descriptive, but we sure do be calling it The Pandemic
Also the new linguistic quirk of just saying “it was 2020” as like. The full end of a story. You say “it was 2020” and everyone knows what you mean.
“I was going to get my masters degree but then it was 2020, so yeah”
“I was cast in a play and then it was 2020”
“my boyfriend proposed but then it was 2020”
kinda crazy how like every cult documentary is like "here's the survivors we spoke to who all have a range of different experiences, beliefs, talents, skills and stories" and all the survivors of the cult are like "i consider myself a rational person and this initially gave me a sense of community and was offering me the one thing i needed, it was a wonderful experience at first and i was surrounded by people i loved and who loved me, and by the time i realised how bad things had gotten i was in too deep and had alienated all my friends and family outside of the group and had been brainwashed over a period of time to think that any suffering was deserved and that by leaving i would be causing harm to myself and everyone i knew, and if things had been good once then maybe they would be again, and i had to believe that because i had nothing else left" and then half the reviews are people talking about how stupid cult survivors are and how they would NEVER be so dumb to join a group like this, clearly these idiots KNOWINGLY joined a cult and therefore deserved everything that happened to them, maybe if they had tried been as smart and rational as me,
Official ominous sign (apparently translates to "Sorry", in a sincere way)

reminder that adhd medication isn’t a luxury or preference, but a lifesaving medication. a 10 year long study in the usa showed that, when properly medicated, the rate of car crashes people with adhd get into goes down significantly–men’s rate drops by 38%, and women’s by 42%. the med shortage, denial of meds by doctors, rising prices, and war on drugs has killed–with such a car dependent society, not driving frequently isn’t an option, which means we need better healthcare and need it now.

edit because i forgot to explain: short link is to an article by the washington post, it should be free to read
I’m pretty sure there’s also been a study that unmedicated ADHD increases the risk of developing dementia in old age. I’ll get back to yall when I find the study
Found it and here’s a Washington Post article if you don’t want to read a medical journal.
@icy-moons thank you for this incredibly important addition!!! People with adhd are almost 3 times as likely to get dementia, and the way to prevent that is stimulant medication–more people need to know this
Not to mention being properly treated and medicated for ADHD reduces the likelihood of developing an addiction or substance use disorder.
The articles below are free to access, they cite their sources if you wanna check out the studies themselves.
ADHD medication is not a gateway drug. In fact, teens and adults who seek treatment for their ADHD symptoms are much less likely to abuse dr
To reduce the risk of substance-use disorders, treatment with stimulant medication should begin prior to 9 years of age, according to resear
ADD-certified therapist here. These claims are ALL TRUE. I don’t have the link to hand but properly medicating ADHD also reduces anxiety and depression rates and I’ve seen it improve eating and sleep over the long haul, and improve aggression in young children.

New Folder (2) would be a beautiful name for a cool baby
Imagine if babies were named the same way that files were, so by default it's "New Baby" until the parents change it, and if you meet a "New Baby (2)" out in the wild and it's like a five year old that's a major sign of serial parental neglect
Only parents can reallocate names, so that means somebody called "New Baby" might just be an orphan. But "New Baby (2)" means that they had at least nine months to name the first baby before the second was born, and they just didn't give a fuck. Sad

In a little over a week, I animated this clip of Finn and Nico, and I’m very proud of how it came out!! I tried to match the show’s style as close as I could, let me know how I did!
The song I used was “Leaving Rainbow” by staypuft (who composed most of AT’s soundtrack)
Nico’s voice was supplied by @parsenoire!
And a special thanks to @indianazell for helping with some of the linework for the bgs!! And also to my animation professor Polly Guo who did board on AT and said my boards looked good LMAO
This is a callback to the very first Nico the Catboy comic, where they slow blink at each other.
watch it on youtube!!
