Sonar: Saying you have a date with our dispatcher is kind of SUS, bro.

Flambae: What do you mean ‘sus’? What are you on about?

Sonar: Our dispatcher is a GUY that makes it sound like you’re GAY for him, which is SUS.

Flambae: I am gay. He is gay. We are gay.

Sonar: Woah, calling yourself gay? That’s gunna make people think you’re gay, dude. SUS A F.

Flambae: What the FUCK are you on about? I am openly gay, dude. People know I’m gay. I am gay for men.

Sonar: You’re “gay” for “men”? That’s pretty SUS bro. People are going to get the wrong impression.

Flambae (flaming up): THEY WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT IMPRESSION, WHICH IS THE IMPRESSION IM ADVERTISING. I AM LITERALLY A FLAMING HOMOSEXUAL.

Sonar: SUS POLICE! My homie is being SUS on main! Put him in the SUS-cuffs and take him to Maximum SUS-curity Pri-SUS-n!

(Distinct app notification goes off from Sonar’s phone.)

Sonar: Well if you’ll excuse me, I’m bout to have gay sex with this fellow crypto-bromo from Fangr. Gotta put the MLM in MLM if you know what I mean. If you’ll excuse me.

Flambae: WHAT THE ACTUAL F-

What I feel is missing from the ‘does robert REALLY feel bad abt cutting Flambae’s fingers’ discussion is considering what guilt, exactly, means to Robert.

Because? From what I’ve seen? Honestly, not a lot.

Even if Robert does feels guilty, — which I do interpret he does, based on the scene, but because it was Flambae, not because of the act itself, — it changes absolutely nothing about the game, or who he is as a person.

Weather or not Robert would feel bad, or not feel bad at all, doesn’t necessarily impact anything. Because Robert would’ve done it regardless.

He’s not a guilt driven hero, he’s a duty driven one.

We see the same thing with Sonar and Coop, — people Robert, from the little interaction they DO have, does get along with and believes in. And he fires them anyway.

We also have to consider the circumstances on WHY that had to happen, too. And we also have to keep in mind. Robert cut off Flambae’s fingers because Robert was losing.

But what I do find very interesting, based on what we have so far, — Flambae DOESN’T think about the fingers part all that much. Or at least doesn’t bring them up.

It’s not something he hides, it’s not something he’s embarrassed about. It’s Robert who watches his hand, recalls the event in pure detail, and interestingly enough, doesn’t use it as a taunt, even WHILE being Mecha Man.

But? Flambae, aside from the actual fight, and based on what I’ve seen (I tried watching as many playthroughs as I could, so feel free to correct me) doesn’t have a moment where he blames Robert for THAT part, specifically.

Robert doesn’t need to get on his knees and beg for forgiveness, not only because that’s a highly performative and insincere depiction of the guilt he WOULD feel, but Flambae doesn’t need that from him.

He already considers Robert an actual hero while hating him to his core, and AFTER that event happened.

I just think it’s more so a ‘I don’t need your forgiveness to move on. But it would be nice to have it’ and ‘forgive what? I hate you for sending me to prison, not THAT other traumatic thing’ situation

Villain Robert is so unserious because his greatest weakness is that fucking name. He could be the greatest villain of the century whose code name inspires fear, but as soon as Prism and Sonar learn his real name it’s over.

Cyber bullying won’t even begin to cover the extent of it they’d literally rename him. Mecha Man? Nah that’s Robbie Rotten now

Robert and Flambae doing acts of service for eachother WHILE being absolute assholes at the same time:

Robert waking up extra early so no one steals Flambae’s parking spot. It's always next to Prism’s car.

If asked, he either denies it (badly), or says he did it to keep Flambae from whining.

(prism and flambae film carpool karaoke and he saves every video she sends)

Robert making coffee and Flambae waiting for him to leave the room before keeping it warm with his hands.

“He’s even more of a bitch when he's on decaf.” Says before blowing gently over the steam so it's perfect temperature

Robert openly calling out everything Flambae does wrong on missions, but if anyone else joins in, he gets snappy. “He’s doing his best, alright?! Lay the fuck off!”

“You literally just called him ‘thrift store Human Torch’ “

“And your stats are somehow lower than his! Funny that.”

Flambae leaving homemade lunches in the office’s fridge for Robert to find. They're always labeled, and always signed with someone else’s name.

Robert goes up to Blazer, handmade donuts, filled with his favorite vanilla cream still in his mouth.

“ the ‘I hope you choke and trip and lose all your teeth’ felt a bit aggressive, but thanks. Also, Beef really likes the treats you left, too.”

Blazer tells him that's not her handwriting. There's very awkward chewing for about 5 minutes.

Whenever Flambae loses a hair tie during battles, Robert always buys him a new one and leaves it in his locker. “So Beef doesn't choke on his vanity and hairgel.”

Flambae stays overtime to help the others complete their missions so Robert can go home early.

“I just wanna get away from him faster, that's all!” (Robert complained about some weird back pain and Flambae got worried)

When Flambae moves up on the leaderboard, Robert always takes a picture of his rank and makes it his wallpaper.
