Mitchell’s Beautiful Human Decay Focuses on Human Insecurities
Tumblr artist Megan Mitchell is known for her passion and exploration of different types and processes of human decay and the various insecurities of the human body; and in her latest project called Beautiful Human Decay, she explores the various natural processes in a creative and interesting series of ways.
The result is an aesthetically beautiful series of photographs that feature a collection of human limbs and nature in decay like people’s arms, kneecaps, calves, flowers and gashes.
The photography doesn’t involve the use of blood; instead, Mitchell uses an intricate web of beads, fabric and buttons to create the impression of a rash on the arm, red colored beads to reference blood and skin colored sequins to resemble the healing of skin and tiny plastic cylinders in red protrude from the skin using red threading to recreate the image of leg hair . h/t: Trend Hunter
