ela-polat:
“Let’s make it a Friday thing then. Of course, if we need to cancel we can always reschedule to a different day of the week but Fridays are good. What better way to kick off the weekend than spending time with your best friend.” Without any particular warning, she took the tequila shot in front of her, immediately scrunching up her face in distaste as it burned its way down her throat. “Whew. Will that ever get easier? I would think by now it would, but I guess I thought wrong.” Shivering and sticking out her tongue, she reached for her wine glass and took a rather large sip, an attempt to get the horrid taste out of her mouth. “Wow, you must really love me if it meant sweet talking your way with Sawyer. Don’t worry, though. I’d never put you in that sort of situation. I promise to always be on my best behavior.”
“It’s a date then, my darling. Fridays really are going to be the best days of the week now.” Watching as Ela took the shot, she couldn’t help but laugh at her question. There was a reason why tequila was always the last one to go in her cabinet. The way it felt going down, she hated it. She only did it when she needed to shock her body into doing something. “Never will.” She told her while licking the back of her hand, right above her thumb and sprinkled some salt on it. “You know I don’t have any bad blood with Sawyer, right? I’m just surprised he doesn’t hate me for how I just ended things unexpectedly. It’s not like the love I have for him is gone,” she admitted before taking the shot. Feeling it burn her throat, her body tensed and she cringed as she took the lime and began to suck on it. “I really hate this stuff.”
sawyerwoods:
“I can think of about a million and one different ways to have fun other than teasing me. That’s like, dead last on the list.” Sawyer shook his head, although he didn’t bother to yell. Anyone else he would have (then again, there weren’t that many people who had this sort of effect on him.) “Yeah, work is…work comes before a lot of things. I never really saw the appeal behind playing hooky from work, other than getting more sleep. Look at you, Ivy Dunne. You’re such a bad influence on me.”
“Are you going to list those or are you going to leave me guessing? Because right now -- that’s the only thing I’m finding amusing.” She flashed him a small smile and soon hiding it with her coffee cup. She forgot how much she actually missed this place. “I should have gotten two of these,” she eyed her cup, mostly speaking to herself. “Am I?” Her blue hues moving to meet his eyes once more. “I think I’m just trying to add some fun into your life. Took me years, but one small meeting and I got you to crack after all this time. A small success in my book.”

sawyerwoods:
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don’t wanna hear it.” Sawyer shook his head, although Ivy was probably one of the very few people allowed to tease him about those sort of things. Eddie and his sister were also on that list, and that was probably it. “I think…I’m gonna play hooky for the day. I can’t remember the last time I’ve done something like this. I’m always the first one to the station, you know? Early as possible, last one to leave sort of thing. Maybe this is what I need.”
“How else am I going to have fun if I’m not teasing you?” She joked. “It’s cute.” She couldn’t remember the last time she had seen him blush. It was a nice thing to see again, even if it would most likely be the last time. Her smile grew when hearing he was going to play hooky. “Oh, I know. Trust me, I know. I could never get you to play hooky before. This is like a special treat. Now we just have to decide -- where are we going to enjoy these delicious donuts?”
ela-polat:
“Ooo, can we?” Ela’s eyes lit up at the suggestion, her smile growing. Having a weekly girl’s night sounded like a fantastic idea and something both girls needed right now. “I’m so down! I’m off practically every weekend, and get done pretty earlier during the week. I’m always home before six. This is the best thing I’ve heard come out of your mouth all night.” She winked. “Aww, you’d bail me out, huh? Maybe sweet talk Sawyer into letting me go. Actually, no. As much as I’d want out I wouldn’t want you to have to deal with him and his smart ass. You need to avoid him at all costs - just as much as I have to avoid my ex. “Too old? Nonsense! There’s no such thing! You’re allowed to have fun no matter what your age may be - and by the way, you’re not old. You better hush.”
“I have some smart ideas from time to time,” she joked while looking at her friend and hearing her talk about when she is available for their new weekly girl time. “I would suggest Fridays. Only because I do have things I need to grade and plan for the following day. Unless you’d rather one of the weekend days. I’m fine with either of those. I just don’t want it to be in the middle of the week and I’m ignoring you because I have to grade spelling tests.” She wanted to make sure she gave Ela her full attention whenever they decided to do this and not just give her a half listening ear. “For you? I would definitely try and sweet talk Sawyer just to get you out. Only because I love you that much.” Scrunching her nose, she brought her shoulders up into a shrug. “I guess we will see about that, huh?”
austinjamcs:
After a long night shift, the first thing AJ did was return home to feed Sergeant, then take him for a walk. His boy had a tendency to become distracted by all of the other dogs, and sometimes even cats that might join their owners. Which was fine by him, considering Sergeant was just as harmless as his owner. A social butterfly that wouldn’t harm unless absolutely necessary. The way his tail wagged was a clear sign of his happiness. Paying more attention to his pet than others around him, it was an almost collision that drew AJ out of his reverie. “Oh that’s okay! I tend to do that a lot. Er, most of the time, actually.” He chuckled, flashing a smile to assure everything was good. Then recognition clicked, that it was Sawyer’s ex, Ivy. “Ivy, right?” He asked uncertainly. “Please excuse me if I’m totally wrong.”
When hearing her name fall from the male’s lips, it took her a minute to register who it was. Someone she had met through Sawyer who he had worked with. She brought her hand up to push some of her hair out of her face. “No, you’re right,” She chuckled, allowing a soft smile form on her lips. “Austin if I’m not mistaken? Sorry. It’s been a while since I have seen you.” Mainly because of her break up with Sawyer. She was normally good with names since it was something she had to be good at with different students every year. “How have you been?”
ela-polat:
“Yes, I do know that. I’m forever grateful for you, your friendship, and your big boobs.” Ela teased, nudging her friend with her shoulder as she let a giggle escape her lips. “I’m all for some cuddling and stuffing our faces with food. These sort of nights are the ones I look forward to the most. We need to start having them more often.” She reached for the bottle, pouring the liquor into the shot glasses. “You are right about that. Kids will listen, adults don’t want to hear it. It’s their way or the highway. I have people question my profession all the time. Like alright, you’re right - you do know more than me based off of what you’ve found on Facebook. Forget the fact that I went to school for this.” Rolling her eyes, she quickly cut up the lime so they could be fully prepared for the tequila shots. “Hey, maybe that’s what you need. A distraction, you know? You don’t have to marry them…just have some fun.”
Ivy playfully rolled her eyes at her best friends words and a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “It’s all about the boobs,” she teased back. “We could always schedule this to be a weekly thing. We can pick a day and just do this. Girls night in. Order food, have a few drinks, talk about whatever the hell is bothering us, and maybe pass out together on the couch. Hopefully my bed because it’s a lot more comfier, but hey... we probably wouldn’t care.” Ivy watched as Ela prepared their shots. “You could just try and knock some sense into them somehow. Just not in a way that will send you to jail. I don’t want to have to rush down to the police station to bail you out.” And it would put her at risk for seeing Sawyer again. “Maybe... but I feel like I’m getting too old to just be having fun.”

Graham: If you're serious about it.
Ivy: I guess you'll find out soon enough.
sawyerwoods:
She definitely didn’t miss that part of his sentence, as much as he wished she would have. His cheeks turned a light shade of red as he continued to drink his coffee, not quite sure what to say. Ivy seemed to be doing a good job at playing it off and acting as if it meant nothing - which it had, or at least that’s what he had to tell himself. “I’ll get the silent treatment from him but…I think he can forgive me for it. He loves me too much to get pissed off over a few donuts.”
It wasn’t hard to notice the blush creeping up on his cheeks as she spoke. Deep down it made her happy that she could still make him blush. “He blushes... how adorable.” She smiled while bringing her cup back up to her lips to take another sip. “Mhm...” she hummed, tilting her head slightly to the side. “So -- are you going to play hooky or are you going to go feed the big man his donuts?”
ela-polat:
“I know, I know. It’s something I’m still trying to get used to. Even as a kid, I was always afraid to cry in front of others. It never made any sense, as my parents always made sure to let me know that it was okay to feel sad or upset. But you’re right - that’s what we’re here for. You’re my number one gal.” Ela wrapped an arm around her friend’s shoulder, giving it a squeeze before focusing on the tequila shots now sitting in front of them. “You have a point. I’m sure as much as you love your students, working around children that young can get a little stressful at times. I don’t really deal with children at work, so I can’t relate - well, I guess I can. Adults are worse. They make me crazy, I swear.” She chuckled. “Oh, hush. You are hot. You’re sexy. Just look at those eyes! You’ll have people begging for more.”
“I get that. But you know I’m always here when you need me, right? To cry, to just cuddle, anything. I won’t judge you if you cry in front of me. If anything, that will just make me cuddle you even more and get some food we shouldn’t be eating or drinking.” Ela had always been there for Ivy and she wanted her to know that she would always be there for her as well, no matter the situation. Now moving to the edge of the couch, Ivy’s eyes scanned the tequila shots in front of them. “Adults are ten times worse. At least you can teach a kid something... with adults they’re already set in their ways and you just want to slap them.” She scrunched her nose and shook her head. “They will be staring at my boobs too much to notice anything else.”

Graham: The sooner you can get here, the better.
Ivy: Where am I even going?
sawyerwoods:
“I don’t know…maybe. I’d like to sit here and say yes I would, but uh, I couldn’t ever get frustrated with you - regardless of the stupid questions. You’re just too cute to get annoyed with, I guess.” Realizing wha he had just said, he awkwardly cleared his throat and brought his coffee up to his lips to distract himself from what he had just told Ivy. “You think Eddie would be able to forgive us?”
“Aww, you think I’m cute? You big softy,” Ivy teased and playfully nudged him knowing how awkward he must have felt after saying that. She felt awkward just by hearing it but needed to play it off as if she wasn’t. She didn’t want their conversation to go back to being how it was when they first bumped into each other. When getting to the door she opened it for him. “Probably not but that’s the best part, isn’t it?”
I know, you think I’m gorgeous.

“Darling, you are a badass. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, tears shed or not. Even badasses cry sometimes. Hell, I did, I just didn’t let you see it.” Hearing that her friend had tequila available, she wiggled her brows before getting up from her seat and went towards the kitchen to find her stash. After opening a couple of the cabinets, she found the bottle and was able to locate some limes and salt as well. “Ivy! You little devil. You were prepared, weren’t you?” Ela chuckled, making sure to gather everything including shot glasses before heading back into the living room. “This is why we’re best friends We’re gonna take some tequila shots and get you someone hot to fuck!” Cato was long forgotten as she focused on the task ahead of her, putting together a Tinder profile for her best friend. She spent some time choosing the images, making sure to pick the best. “You’re going to get so many matches. You’re hot as fuck.”
“You know you can cry in front of me, right? That’s what we are here for. To cry on each other’s shoulders and tell the world to go fuck itself because it sucks along with some people in it.” Ivy didn’t have any issues with people. She was more of a people person than anything else, which is weird since how she had isolated herself so much from everyone around her. “What?” She let out a laugh. “I work with six and seven year olds -- of course I’m going to need a drink from time to time. I just haven’t stocked up on my other go to drinks yet. That will happen later this weekend.” She promised. She couldn’t believe that she was allowing Ela to take over and make her a Tinder account. It was something she always told herself she wouldn’t do and yet -- here she was. “Oh god. I’m not hot. I’m average looking.”

Graham: You don't have to worry about that here.
Graham: The fun starts as soon as you meet up.
Ivy: And when is that?
sawyerwoods:
“Probably. I wouldn’t put it past him. There’s a reason why we get along so well, and it’s because we’re one in the same. I’d do it too if he promised me something and didn’t deliver it. What would have made matters worse is if I would have blamed my lack of donuts on you. Then I would have never heard the end of it from him.” At the mention of a partner who didn’t shut up, Sawyer made a face. “I’d quit right then and there. I can’t handle stupid questions. I have a maximum of like, one before I lose my patience with someone.” It was one of the many things that made him different from Ivy. While she had the time to work with people and help them out, he didn’t. He tried, and usually failed. “I don’t know, I’ve always been a bad liar. I feel like they’d see right through me.”
“I would pay to see it happen. Only because I can see your reaction in my head right about now and it’s hilarious. Though, I do think you doing it to Eddie would be also hilarious.” Was that a nice save? Probably not. Still, no matter who it was, Ivy knew that it would be funny because she knew how the both of them were with their attitudes. “So, would you just up and walk away if I happened to start asking you stupid questions?” Ivy asked as she began to move back towards the door for them to leave. “I can always put an onion under your nose and some pepper. Then we can take these donuts and eat them so Eddie can’t,” she somewhat joked.
