literally, an encore is what comes after the apparent ending. you wait until the performance concludes, because the ending you just witnessed may not truly be the final one.

to reiterate, the opalite mv uses the man-made gemstone as a core metaphor for manufactured or hard-won happiness. in short, the *main point* is that happiness does not have to be discovered like a rare natural gemstone, it can be made. the art of manufacturing happiness.

"due to its ethereal appearance, opalite is often marketed as a gemstone, even though it is a man-made material rather than a naturally formed mineral." swift explained that just as opalite is an artificial version of a natural opal, joy and emotional recovery after hardship can also be intentionally built or chosen. circling back to the encore sign, juxtaposed with the above explanation of opalite, taylor frames it as forgiving yourself when life does not follow the expected schedule. “be patient” resists the pressure to have love, identity, or all the things adults should have achieved by a culturally prescribed deadline.
