people scare me. they change their minds so quick. one moment it’s “i love you” and “you make me happy” and the next it’s “i’m not sure anymore” and “this isn’t what I want.“

I can care about you and still cut you off and I can miss you and never talk to you again.
I think, therefore

Ok but the lighting in my room >>>
i’ve realized that now i don’t even get mad at others. i’m more disappointed in myself that i was stupid enough to let those in my life and made me feel that way. idk if it’s necessarily a good thing
It’s important not to internalise blame for others being shitty. Letting people in will always involve a degree of risk but that doesn’t always make things your fault

Astrology Book Recs
1. The Astrology of Family Dynamics by Erin Sullivan
This book covers astrology in relation to family structure, astrological lineage, and the collective of humanity. It is chock full of case studies that demonstrate these themes. There are tons of smaller tidbids of information that are hidden in the book! Takes a very psychological approach to how families get along and expands on the idea that some placements are “inherited” from the family line.
Pages: 416 | Level: Intermediate | Rating: 8/10
2. Aspects in Astrology by Sue Thompkins
One of the first astrology books I ever received and one of my favorites, this book is dedicated entirely to natal aspects. It uses clear, simple language and utilizes keywords so that the reader can get a sense of what every aspect is about. It covers aspects between outer planets and aspects to the four angles. There are a couple of examples sprinkled in toward the end to solidify the information.
Pages: 312 | Level: Beginner | Rating: 10/10
3. The Twelve Houses by Howard Sasportas
Since I have a book solely on aspects, I have to include the one about houses. And, seeing as houses are my favorite part of the natal chart, I enjoyed this book that much more. This book has a very similar format and language to the one above, in that it uses simplistic and understandable language. The cool thing is that this book also provides interpretations for Chiron and the Nodes through the houses! I consider this book an essential.
Pages: 330 | Level: Beginner | Rating: 9/10
4. The Art of Forecasting Using Solar Returns by Anthony Louis
My love for this book is difficult to explain. I would certainly consider it a gem in my collection, however. It combines classic, time-tested techniques with more modern ones. My favorite chapter has to be the one detailing Emerson’s point of death, which delves into solar returns in relation to death for the native or their loved ones.
Pages: 332 | Level: Intermediate/Advanced | Rating: 9/10
5. Planets in Transit by Robert Hand
Recently I have become more interested in transits and being able to use them to my own advantage, so I received this book for the holidays. Robert Hand as an author is very practical in nature, and this book best demonstrates that. Each planet is separated into its own section and aspect and house interpretations are provided. In the beginning, there is a study of the Watergate scandal as an example.
Pages: 530 | Level: Intermediate | Rating: 9/10
6. Chart Interpretation Handbook by Stephen Arroyo
Out of all of the books on this list, this book is the most basic and user-friendly. It is full of cookbook-style interpretations of the signs, planets, houses, and aspects. It is incredibly practical. It’s also relatively small in size, meaning that you can take it with you wherever you go and simply refer to it when you need to!
Pages: 100 | Level: Beginner | Rating: 7/10
7. Planets in Composite by Robert Hand
As I said before, Robert Hand is a very practical author, and this shines in this book. The first part of the book helps the reader understand how composite charts work, how they are read, and it gives some case studies (which are best read after reading the rest of the book, I find). Then the rest of the book is separated by planets, giving interpretations for the planets through the houses and when they make aspects. A great resource for composite!
Pages: 366 | Level: Intermediate | Rating: 8/10
8. The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need by Joanna Martine Woolfolk
This is the other “all-in-one” type of book on this list. Like the handbook above, the goal of this text is to provide the framework for knowledge of astrology. It provides extensive information about sun sign astrology, and then less information about houses and aspects. There are a few pages dedicated to basic synastry, a glossary of important terms, and a built-in ephemeris.
Pages: 504 | Level: Beginner | Rating: 6/10
9. The Book of Neptune by Steven Forrest
Neptune is probably my favorite planet in astrology and this book does a good job of taking a watery planet and explaining it in a down-to-earth way. There are entire chapters dedicated to Neptune’s interactions through the twelve houses and with the other planets. There’s also space dedicated to progressions, transits, and solar arcs. Very in-depth and interesting.
Pages: 396 | Level: Beginner/Intermediate | Rating: 8/10
10. Saturn: A New Look at an Old Devil by Liz Greene
Even though Saturn scares a lot of people, but Liz Greene does a good job of showing the planet in a different light through this piece of literature. It is short and sweet, but it does a good job of really describing things. My only criticism of this book is that it doesn’t separate Saturn in the signs and in the houses, but this is a minor, perhaps nitpicky issue. The book is still a great source.
