God Called In Sick Today {Natasha, Duma, Lucifer, Raphael, Balthazar}
Raphael is many things.
He is mad, he is vicious, he is lost. Right now, he is bleeding, pain oozing in dark red from a missing eye, cavern where it once was.
An eye for an eye Makes the whole world blind, Tsarina.
And he is many twisted things. But certainly not stupid.
And certainly not kind.
So on the outside, what everyone else sees is a Healer stabbing a Lost Queen. On the inside, there is a screaming, thrashing, begging Clint Barton, ripped, thrust in the cold.
Raphael knows of him the same way the other does, and his soul is breaking, is it not? So why not use it? Why not make yet another weakness his?
And so it isn’t Raphael, in those last seconds as she flies back. It’s Clint Barton, forced in place by burning claws.
But does it matter? For he might be screaming her name, too.
But this has truly driven him mad, mad, madder than he’ll ever hope to be. And in those few, desperate, desolate seconds that Clint Barton gets, he begs for death and mercy and revenge.
But he gets none of this. And an insane angel shrieks with laughing spasms.
He's done it.
He's actually done it, and the sight of Natasha staggering back, and falling- well, this has happened before, hasn't it? The girl is like a punching bag, on occasion, but this-
Raphael's laughter, though, and the scream of the soul he lets in beforehand (so, the archer is still around, even he can appreciate that bit of torture, well played, oh Archangel) and the sheer amount of blood that's escaping the girl tells the whole story. She's durable, yes. But not invincible, and that, Balthazar always knew.
She's dying. She's dying, on the way to where that pathetic little prick of an angel should be with her, if he still had his job. And he waits, he pauses from his onslaught, he stares, and grins, and waits to feel her soul slip from her body to his side-
And he feels nothing.
Which is when how the former Angel of Silence got to Hell becomes all too clear.
she cheated, she cheated again, she used his tricks and his love and made him Fall and now he is a god but that soul is not his, does not belong to him due to rules he did not make and has no control over, and that is unac-fucking-ceptable
"She belongs to me, you little piece of shit!" Balthazar, no more demon but newly crowned god, for once, loses his cool.
And lurches forward, to pull Duma's head off before he eats his fucking heart.
