you ask what I have done with my life. why I am 22 with so many unfinished selves. so many futures I could not commit to. but you don’t know how much of my time has been spent keeping myself alive.

At 17, I should have been learning to drive a car, not hoping one would hit me.

“Tell me you love me,” she whispered into the night, “tell me you’ll stay.” But he just rolled over and diverted his gaze, and she heard him give a low sigh. “It’s okay,” she said after a while, when the silence had been displaced by soft snoring. “I wouldn’t have believed you anyway. It’s just a nice thing to hear every once in a while.”

opia n. the ambiguous intensity of looking someone in the eye, which can feel simultaneously invasive and vulnerable—their pupils glittering, bottomless and opaque—as if you were peering through a hole in the door of a house, able to tell that there’s someone standing there, but unable to tell if you’re looking in or looking out.

To the boy that broke my heart years ago-I hope you’re so much happier now. I still miss you and I don’t think I could ever forget you. I would do anything to bring you back but I don’t think you feel the same anymore. I guess I shouldn’t have held onto you so tight.
Zodiac Signs: Different ways of saying I Love You
It's not about taking care of yourself first. Everyone should take care of themselves first. It's about not taking the time to even try to take care of anyone else. It's about crying at 2 in the morning and not being able to call my "best friend" because I've learned that you wouldn't give a shit, but calling Anthony was safe. It's about 2 lines on on a pregnancy test and I never even fucking told you because after 5 years of friendship I couldn't trust you to be there for me. It's because if I'm talking to an ex again I'm "not going to listen to anything" you say anyway and I'm just looking for trouble but when you do the exact same thing I'm not allowed to say anything because it's being hypocritical and I should just understand that you take forever to get over things. The problem isn't caring about yourself first, it's that you don't care about anyone else.
when someone with anxiety asks ‘do you love me?’ ‘are you sure?’ don’t get angry. we’re trying hard, but sometimes we need reassurance. we feel like no one likes us sometimes. deep down, we know it’s silly. but that doesn’t stop us. we’re still learning. be patient.

Please, I want so badly for the good things to happen.

I am unable to describe exactly what is the matter with me; now and then there are horrible fits of anxiety, apparently without cause, or otherwise a feeling of emptiness and fatigue in the head.
