-a way to release dopamine

-point the ache elsewhere (example: forgetting abt the headache you have)

-impulsive decision

-for someone else (I do not like this reason don’t cvt yourself bc of this reason specifically)

-concentrate better (I have done this)

-maybe because of hallucinations

-to return back to reality

-to feel euphoric

-to take out their anger

And hundreds of more reasons, small or big. Cutting isn’t something that only happens when someone is sad.

I'm not going to tell you not to sh cus I've been there and I know how unhelpful that "advice" is. But please take care of the cuts, if you can. Rinse with water or clean gently with a mild soap. Put Vaseline/petroleum jelly/aquaphor on them to protect from clothes, dirt, liquids, etc. and prevent scabs from cracking or tearing off. Also clean your blades before and after. I never got an infected cut, but I *did* get infected eczema a few years ago and it was (1) gross and (2) really really painful. Infections can kill you if untreated- idk if that's a promise or a threat in your pov, but sepsis is not a fun way to go out.

At the end of the day I can't control what you do, but I think it's really important that you have the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about these things.
