Shit happened today, I do online and apparently the high school I WOULD have gone to got shot up????????????? No one was killed or injured life threateningly but I had friends way back then who go there now, and I know I was fucked up that one time my middle school had a false alarm. No not "as long as...!" I think unconditionally I should be able to do what I want to and with my body (even if you don't think it's helpful or you think it's disturbing) without the threat of being kidnapped and imprisoned for having mental health problems.
It has long been shown that suicide rates go up when people are released from in-patient wards. There are quite a few theories on this, but mine is that stripping autonomy, restricting freedoms, forcably drugging, mandating ineffective therapy methods, disallowing "normal" human connection, restricting outside contact but encouraging family contact, denying addiction recovery care, and more are probably what's contributing to that rate increase.
