[Fyi this blog is on hiatus until further notice. Likely I may change this blog to something else I have muse for, but for now Iām not going to make any further updates to this blog until I get my muse back.]
literally me

"So..." [Thought I'd say hi! Feel free to ignore if you don't like my muse.]
"Iām sorry for being a little forgetful, but Iām assuming youāre who I brought home last night, correct? Would you remind me of your name?"
@hxterochromia:
"I will admit, the service is shit and the place looks like it should be shut down, but the food is good and cheap. Thatās all I care about," Ellie said, shrugging as she walked back towards her apartment. "Oh⦠We might need to stop at the liquor store⦠I only have beer back home."
She stopped and turned to look at Scott. āDo you want me to pick something else up?ā
"Yeah, good point. Hard to find places like that." Scott agreed, exiting with Ellie out of the restaurant. He walked back with her to her apartment, smelling the food they were carrying and getting hungry. "Beer is fine." he told her, shrugging indifferently.
"Nah, nothing else to pick up. I think after last night we had enough alcohol, don't you?" he joked, smiling back at Ellie.
"So..." [Thought I'd say hi! Feel free to ignore if you don't like my muse.]
"Iām sorry for being a little forgetful, but Iām assuming youāre who I brought home last night, correct? Would you remind me of your name?"
@hxterochromia:
"I usually pay for my own drinks, but if you insist," she went inside the shop, leading the way. The smell of salt and frying oil filled the air. The yellowed wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the very few tables and chairs that were meant for dining in were already stacked in the corner, as if anticipating closing time.Ā
An older woman popped her head out from behind the counter and scowled at Ellie. āOh. You. You want the lemon chicken again right?ā the lady pushed the red framed glasses up her nose and scowled further, making the wrinkles in her face deepen more. āThat will be nine dollars.ā
"Make it two, please," Ellie replied, handing the correct change over. She was met with another scowl from the woman and a few minutes later, a white plastic bag was shoved into Ellieās hands.Ā
"Sheās always grumpy, donāt worry about it," Ellie mentioned, as she lead the way back home.
"Not really, but you're the one who's taking the money." Scott grinned, moving with Ellie through the Chinese restaurant. The place seemed a little oily and worn like he expected most places like this would be, and one of the kind of places he'd expect to pass through quickly. Thank god for take out.
He watched the little interaction between Ellie and the woman in glasses, stepping forward next to Ellie when she spoke about needing two. He shrugged as they left, smiling at Ellie. "Alright, won't take it personally then. It smells good, can't wait to tuck in."

"I should really cut back on the drinks. I tend to find myself thinking about the past a lot and⦠well I just end up finding myself in a bar seat," She felt her cheeks get warm at her admittance to being a serial drunk. But Ellie was one to keep her word, and so her promise to herself was set in stone now. The thought of a prosperous job in the near future also helped.
"Oh," He had handed her the cash for his meal, but she felt the need to refuse. "You probably already paid for half of my drinks last night. I really shouldnāt accept this." But he seemed to be the type set in his ways, stern and generous when he wanted to be. "I guess we can order now then."Ā
He didn't think too much about how many drinks she had when she said she should cut back, or else find herself where Scott had found her last night. It wasn't a bad thing, and he just guessed she meant she had a few more than the standard drink... from what he could remember. "Everything in moderation, up to you though." he shrugged, smiling.
"And nah, take it. I don't remember who paid last night, do you? I probably did, but if it's that much a weight on your conscience, you can buy me this dinner." he offered her, a amicable smile as he gestured her forward to the restaurant. "So, what are we waitin' for, we gonna order for something to eat or had a change in mind for something different?"
"So..." [Thought I'd say hi! Feel free to ignore if you don't like my muse.]

@hxterochromia:
Ā "Well, the charming smile certainly helped," She added, giving a small chuckle. "Iām glad our memory about last night is about the same. I do like that plan though, less drunk, more fun. Much better than blacking out like we did." She nodded sincerely, passing a few of her neighbours in the lobby. She noticed Scottās arm had hooked around hers, guiding her out into the street. She could tell heād rather not speak so freely in public.
She decided to drop the subject of his friend, saving it for another time. āLetās head this way then. Itās just a block or two this way,ā She turned left down the street and made her way towards the downtown core of the city. Though only a few minute walk, she kept her pace quick, as if embarrassed by the area she lived in. She didnāt say a word about the dirty streets or the man in a sleeping bag curled up in the doorway of an empty shop. Instead she kept moving until stopping in front of a small building with red lettering on the sign that read boldly and simply: Good Chinese Food.
"Here we are."
"I'm glad it did, too." he told her, a little more confident in his smile, and a little more comfortable that strangers were out of earshot now they were on the street. "So we'll go easy on the drinks, yeah? Being in a bar setting really didn't help the tab, either." he laughed.
He followed her for a while, the scenery couldn't be helped but noticed, but everyone had to live within their means and Ellie was no exception. His part of the city was no more glamorous or upper-class itself. Finally they got to the Chinese food place, which was pretty much basically self-named. "Alright, two orders of lemon chicken and rice to go, yeah? Here's my half." he told her, looking at the menu by the door and paying Ellie how much his meal would cost.

"Iām sorry for being a little forgetful, but Iām assuming youāre who I brought home last night, correct? Would you remind me of your name?"
@hxterochromia:
"Do you remember anything from last night at all?" The question was met with a small smirk. "Because to be completely honest I think the most I can remember is a lot of moaning and clothes flying everywhere." The doors to the lift pulled open with a small bell and Ellie stepped inside. "I feel bad for admitting that, Iām sure most people donāt want their sexual partner forgetting how they were but alcohol does thatā¦"
She rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, punching the button for the ground floor. āI would ask you more about this friend of yours, but considering we have some time before we head out there, Iām sure Iāll hear the full story eventually,ā She hoped the change in subject would shift the conversation away from any offence she may have caused with her last question. The doors of the elevator shut and the machine rumbled as it began moving.
"I remember... seeing you at the bar when I was feeling like shit. I remember buying you a drink, saying something which made you laugh and relax, then after a lot more drinks took you back home. Then I remember a lot of kissing, clothes flying... that's about it." he answered her question, nodding as she explained herself. "It's okay. You're not going to insult me if you can't remember anything about it. Just relax. Tonight we'll have less alcohol and you can jog your memory. Must have been good if I got an invite back, and hanging out with you now. Really good." he slyly grinned.
He sighed. "My friend... is just an old acquaintance of mine from my old job. But yeah. I'd rather not talk about it right now, not here at least." he told her, eyeing the elevator as it carried them down, then opened to deposit them on the ground floor, seeing other people waiting to get into the elevator. He took her by the arm confidently and guided her out into the lobby, until they got to the sidewalk so she can guide. "Show me where this Chinese restaurant is, then I'll tell you more."
"Will you kiss me?"
"Youā¦you want me to kiss you?"
@abbyissharp:
Abby laced her fingers with his. āIām glad we can actually slow down for a little bit too.ā Stretching against him, she moved in a little closer. āI can remember when all this started happening. There were kids in my original group. They always seemed to find something good, something to be a little bit happy about. Iād find myself half wishing that I was a kid again. Just so I could at least still enjoy what little bit of life I had left.ā She sighed. Those kids didnāt last long, though. The number of children had dwindled quite a bit since the beginning. Mostly because of the people who thought kids just werenāt good for anything in the world anymore. Sure they would grow up, but that took time.Ā
He felt her move a little closer, but as she began to mention kids, he began to go still and the content smile fell from his face. She had kids at the beginning, and that reminded him of how he had a kid in the beginning, too. He didn't know why, maybe it was how closely in proximity Abby was now or how close she was getting, but before he could stop himself it slipped from his lips. "I had a kid in the beginning named Penelope." He fell silent, not sure what to say after that, so he tried to change the subject. Obviously to Abby what happened to her was obvious; she wasn't here anymore. The walkers made easy work of kids for being less physically strong and fast to evade or push them off, so most of them in the beginning of the outbreak were wiped out, but as much as he was afraid to talk about her he would answer her if Abby asked about her. "Those poor kids. They should have had the time to be kids, the innocence to grow up and not have the responsibilities and burdens us adults have. But the walkers... that innocence was taken from them. And the grim responsibility to survive was thrust upon them whether they liked it or not. They deserved better than that for their childhood, not having to learn how to kill and defend themselves. But that's not the world we live in anymore. This apocalypse has stolen what little there is of future generations to have a happy childhood, left." he sighed.
(ā_ā) [Lmao hi what a way to introduce myself huh.]
"Ah, I umā¦I got kicked out of the apartment across from here. No need to stare. Actually, do you have any extra clothes I could have?"
@crxckxdriibs:
Cindy smiled softly and rubbed her arms awkwardly for a moment before dropping her hands.Ā Relax, Cindy, nothingās going to happen.
"Ahā¦," She watched him as he fixed up the sheets. "Yeah, it is, but it really isnāt that big of a deal. Nothingās happened yet. You just hear storiesā¦." She eased down onto the floor in front of the sofa. "It isnāt that easy. Since Iām a minor I need a parentās permission to get most jobs, and I donāt exactly have a parent to give permission. Besides, I donāt know how to do much. I havenāt been to school since I was twelve."
Cindy propped her chin onto her hands thoughtfully. āTest them? I could, but Iād probably lose money because of it.ā She shrugged at the mention of finding a different job. āLike I said, I left the school system years ago. Even if I wanted to do something else Iād basically have to start over, not to mention dodge questions on my family, andā¦ā She sighed softly. āIt isnāt worth it.ā
Nothing was going to happen. Obviously Scott wasn't Cindy's type, and he was beginning to feel like she was more of a daughter or little sister he wanted to take care of now, the more she told him how terrible her life was. He pulled out his couch, which had a bed folded up in it, careful Cindy didn't get hurt as he flattened it out before the tv.
"Okay, I'm glad you don't have anything yet, but... listen." he told her, setting up a bed for her on his couch. "You're a prostitute. Your body is your main asset in this business, right? If some guy doesn't use a condom when you ask him to, and you catch an STD from him like crabs, the clap or god forbid AIDs, you're not going to be able to use your body and it's going to cost you. Not only money, but your health and maybe even your life. Isn't that fair to say?" The floor beneath the couch had a nice, soft rub for Cindy to lay down upon, so she could get comfortable. "So without a parent for them to give consent for you to have sex, who makes that decision for you if you don't have a pimp? Yourself, so it's illegal?" he asked. He shook his head, fluffing a pillow. "Don't let that be an excuse. Take it from me, a man in his thirties, who just now has decided to have a career change. It's never too late, or you're never too old, to learn a new career. Cindy... if you don't want to do this job, you shouldn't have to. Do what makes you happy. This survival job... getting kicked out into the hallway naked is the least dangerous thing that can happen to you."
He finished setting up the fold-out bed in the couch, gesturing for her to sit on the plush bed that now had a nice white fluffy quilt on it for her, and white matching pillows. "You wouldn't, if they refuse to use a condom. If anything, it would only make you a higher value... hooker, rather than a poorer quality one they wouldn't want to sleep with. If you show them you have higher standards, they should respect you." He sat on the edge of the bed, leaning over to look at her while he was having a strangely close heart-to-heart with her about her career. "Yes, you'd have to start over, but it's better to do it now while you're young than put if off and not do anything about your education until you're thirty like me. Prostitution isn't going to pay the cost of living for you forever, take my advice, think about your future." He raised an eyebrow at the mention of her family. "You said you didn't have parents. So you have family? Siblings? Uncles, aunts, grandparents? Do you want me to call them, let you know where you're staying for the night so they know you're safe? And isn't it better they know you're doing what you love than selling your body? Cindy... you're a nice, lovely girl. You deserve better than this. Don't you agree?"
In your heart shall burn an unquenchable flame
Good night and joy be with you all
