I got this really nice “ultimate travel clutch” as a gift during the holidays. When I read b.c (beauty concepts) I remember seeing the logo but i wasn’t so familiar with the brand. I wanted to know so I decided to ask my ever reliable friend, Google. There wasn’t much about the brand only that it’s one of the brands under Enchanté Accessories Inc. in New York. They basically manufacture cosmetic supplies, make up, bath essentials… And let’s just say —everything! You can buy their stuff in stores and they supply for different brands as well. No wonder they can easily come up with something like this..:) The clutch has an eyeliner, a mascara, an eyeshadow palette, some brushes and oddly 2 nail cutters and some twizers. It’s pretty handy and you can easily organize it in your bag but if I were to tweak it I’d take out one nail cutter and a twizer and slip in a lipstick. 😄😄 Buuut then again that’s just me! Haha

Before a new year begins savor the last few days of the ending year.. 2015 was a wonderful ride.. Looking forward to what lies ahead for this 2016! 👌👌

Make Up With Doris

Make up to me is like disyphering hieroglyphs. I may know some of the individual symbols but put together, I’m insanely clueless!

It all started with a wedding and a tweet. You see, Im goin to an out of town wedding next week and I got worried cuz I don’t have anyone to help me with make up! My dear friend Doris read my tweet and told me if I wanted a super crash course on super basic make up.. 🙌🙌 I took the offer right away! 😏😏 After our many attempts of meeting up, we finally found a way to squeeze it in our busy schedule. We met up hours before our group’s Christmas dinner and while I was still officially “at work” haha!

As soon as I took a break Doris was fast in bringing out all her stuff and started with my “class” 😁😁

She packs some of her make up essentials in these small transparent bags for easy, quick out of town shoots or getaways.

I learned that Doris is very particular with eyebrows, which kinda made me feel awkward about mine. Haha I definitely need my eyebrows groomed! From the eyebrows we proceeded to putting on foundation, the eyes, how to contour, and along the way we discussed about brushes, colors, tricks, then we ended with the lips.

All that in about - if not an hour, we did it in less than an hour! 😯 yup yup! “super crash course” indeed! 😬

But she covered everything quiet well!

I now understand make up a bit - well at least the basics! 😊😊 Im sure Doris would have discussed a lot more! I mean seeing all her “paraphernalia” haha I guess there’s more Science to make up!

For now, I believe the basics are good enough for me!

My Dermablend Experience

For the past months I’ve been checking out Dermablend online. I’ve been watching a lot of their demo videos and even personal videos of people who have tried their products. Since most of the feedback have been great and most of the demo videos showed awesome results.. I decided to set aside some budget to get my hand on some of their products.

I decided to get their Dermablen Leg and Body Cover

Waiting for my package to arrive got me all these mixed emotions! I was excited, anxious, impatient and most of all- worried if I got the right shade! My packaged arrived first week of December (thanks to my friend Apay for going thru all the hassle to get me the goods!☺️) I wanted to try the stuff already as soon as I got it.. But since Christmas is just around the corner I was out most of the time and couldn’t get my hands on my new items! Finally yesterday I woke up and saw that I had two and a half hours of idle time before I head out. So I grabbed my dermablend items with a huge smile on my face.. (it’s time!)

I decided to get the stick and the leg and body cover because i wanted to be sure my scars and my dark spots were fully covered.

As soon as I opened the stick and dabbed it on my legs my heart sank….

It didn’t match… I took out th leg and body cover and dabbed it on top..

I felt more sad… cuz my fears were true… I had gotten the wrong shade..

I saw a photo in Dermablendpro’s instagram

and had this in mind…

But this was my reality.

It didn’t match my skin so it didn’t look natural..

it was white and pinkish…

waaaaaaah…

Don’t get me wrong! These stuff really works!

I tried to cover my tattoos as well.. it just didn’t match.

I definitely got the wrong shade.

It’s so hard to pick shades online.. Specially when you don’t get to talk to anyone for advice like in the stores.

I didn’t know what shade was perfect for my skin tone. Maybe I should have gotten the ones with a yellowish undertone.

I was suppose to use it for an event… and now.. all is gone.

I’m so sad.

I just flushed almost a hundred dollars down the drain.

*heartbroken* So if you plan to buy Dermablend make sure you're getting the right shade.. If you do Im sure it'll make miracles! :)

Commuting

I haven’t been "legitly" commuting for almost a year now. So today, I decided to go visit my mom and my nephews in Las Piñas and decided to commute all the way. Oh wow! What can I say... But wow! The stress!! The stress of trying to catch a shuttle or the bus plus having to deal with the heat while making sure your bag is safe from pick pockters! Wow… all these years, this was the kind of stress i allowed myself to go thru every single day. I have forgotten what it was like, eversince a car is easily available and uber came in.. I’d uber anywhere!

I remember when I had my first job and was able to save some money, my sister told me I should buy myself a car… I thought about it for a second but didn’t consider the suggestion. You see most of my friends had cars and everytime we go out parking was always a problem… Pay parking was an additional expense and they all had these headaches about maintaining their cars. I decided to spare myself from all that and believed I was better off without a car. Back then I’d tell people I could drink out and didn’t have to worry about driving!

Commuting is somewhat convenient if you look at it the way I did but commuting in Metro Manila is mostly stressful. Commuters spend 2hrs travel time goin to work and more going home. With Manila’s poor public transportation, small roads and inefficient traffic enforcers, the moment we leave our homes we enter that sphere of stress. The Long lines, the heat, the pollution, and the complete standstill traffic of the metro.. You haven’t even started working yet but you’re already worn out.

Im having a headache as i write, I decided to take a cab half way to makati.. And im thankful EDSA is amazingly almost empty and it’s only 9:30PM. I was worried that even at this time it’ll still be a parking lot. Traffic was awesome and I paid waaaay less than what I might have paid for uber. Oh Manila when will we ever fix our public transportation to make it more effecient and when will we fix our terrible traffic?
