Nobody suggested it per usual, but Caine had an adventure he was sure everyone would love. Hide-and-seek. A game he was aware humans played in their youth, so he wanted to make it the adventure for the day to try and keep everyone sane. Ragatha and Pomni were both on board with it, thinking it would be super fun since it had been who knows how long since anyone here played it.
Jax thought it was stupid, so did Zooble, you were indifferent and didn't care either way. But then Jax suggested that he would be the seeker purely to mess with everyone else. At first you didn't think Caine would actually make him the seeker.
But then he actually did.
And started a countdown of one minute for everyone to find a hiding spot.
Cue you running like a madman around the circus trying to find a place to hide that Jax wouldn't check as Caine announced the time ticking down. One minute turned into 40 seconds turned into 30 seconds turned into 10 seconds turned into "Don't get found by Jax or else he will be a menace" mode as he was able to start seeking.
You and Jax were never friends, he always loved teasing and torturing you at any given moment. Why? 'You look so cute when you're flustered'. You never could tell if he was saying it to fuck with you even more, but either way, he was an asshole to you.
You decided to go to an area that rarely anyone came to on the far side of the circus hiding behind some large letter blocks. You found it on your first week and loved sitting there when everything got too much because it made you feel safe. Everyone split up individually, only seeing the general direction of where they were headed, so it was impossible to rat someone out, which made you even confident you wouldn't be caught.
Unfortunately, fate had different plans, as the sound of footsteps was right outside. How did he find you so fast? Your heart was beating fast (did you even have a heart?) as you could hear his taunts and the footsteps coming closer.
"Hm...I wonder where my favorite person in the circus is? You hid so well..." Favorite person? Yeah right, favorite person to toture, you interally scoffed as you didn't want to reveal your specific location. Then again...if he's already here so quickly, that means he didn't find anyone else before you, he went for you first. The footsteps then stopped along with his voice, you couldn't tell if he left or was about to jumpscare the living hell out of you. You don't know how long it was, but you thought maybe he did leave. Big mistake.
"You look so cute all terrified of little ol' me" The sound of Jax whispering in your ear made you jump in surprise, he scared the shit out of you! Heart beating as fast as it can go, you went from a curled up position to laying flat on your ass. The rabbit began laughing like a maniac as you just sat there, glaring at him while trying to calm down from the shock.
"Oh my god! You should have seen your face!" He continued to laugh as he slapped his knees, slight tears forming in the corner of his eyes from how hard he was laughing.
"Shut the frick up. Ok, you found me, wow sooo cool. You just have to announce to Caine you found me then you can find the next victim" Rolling your eyes, you attempted to regain control and just let him win. Sure, you could run away now, but then he would just find you again and terrorize you more. Jax slowly ceased his laughing, but his smile didn't go away, no- it instead became a smirk you knew meant mischief. He was planning something.
"Where's the fun in that? You aren't even going to ask how I found you so quickly? Go on-" he stalks closer, you being too scared to move, and leaned down so his face was right in front of yours. "Ask" Gulping, you tried to calm your breathing as he was far too close to your liking.
"H-how did you find me?" Any sense of taking control of the situation was thrown out of the window as you felt the weird sensation of butterflies in your stomach. No- no! You could not have a crush on him! It was impossible! You hated him! He was an asshole! Yet with him being so close, you felt nervous.
"I see you come in here all the time, simple as that. Which is pretty stupid to come here to use as a hiding spot" Wait- does that mean everyone knows? Or, was he simply watching you all this time? You can't tell which was worse since this was your one place you felt safe from everyone else and the rest of the circus. Sure, you had your bedroom, but everyone knew where that was and Jax always had a key. But he wasn't wrong though- but this was the first place you thought of.
"But now we're all alone...you're at mercy..." His smirk grew wider as you started to crawl backwards and he started to advance, only for your back to hit a wall. To confirm that there was nowhere else to go, you looked back in a panic to indeed find yourself up against a wall. When you looked back at Jax, he placed both hands on each side of your head, caging you in.
"W-what the- what are you doing?" You exclaimed, and he just chuckled as he decided to plop himself right in your lap. Yelping and face extremely hot, your heart was fluttering as you felt his weight settle on you. Hands on the floor, you flex your fingers as you didn't know what to do. Push him off? Jax made the decision for you as he takes his hands from the wall, grabs your own, and places them right on his hips. The rabbit then leans close to your face again, making sure your lips are almost touching.
"I'm shutting you up" Suddenly, his lips were on yours, he was kissing you! Taking a few seconds to process what was happening, you couldn't help but start to kiss back. The second you did though, he pulled back with his smirk before quickly stood up. Shocked, you just watch as he yanked you to stand up as well. Too stunned at everything that was happening- you let him grab your wrist as he rushed out of the spot. Sputtering out useless words in surprise, you were now in the brightly lit main room with Jax holding onto you.
"I found them!" He turned to look at you with an evil smile. You felt betrayed, too much happening in too little time, what just happened? There was only one thing going through your mind-
"You motherfu-" And suddenly, you were in a room with a sign that said 'Found Zone', completely alone.
・You and Jax knew each other in real life before you both entered the circus and you were the only one left still close to him despite his flaws. You knew him too well to leave him, even if others say he isn't worth it, even if he thinks so himself.

"I don't understand why you stick around him. I mean- I know you each other before and all...but he's such a jerk!" Ragatha waved her arms around frantically to further illustrate her frustration about you remaining friends with the rabbit despite how he acts. You understand her concerns completely- but you also find it funny how much she doesn't understand you and your relationship with Jax.
"Well- Jax went through a lot before he got here and it was by pure chance when I got here too after him. We knew nobody else here at the time and I vowed to always be his friend no matter what. Even after..." You look away for a moment, memories of Kaufmo and Ribbit flooding your mind. Jax was somewhat of an asshole before joining the circus, but after they abstracted one-by-one- he started to grow cold and apathetic. He still had a connection with you, but your friendship was not as strong as it was previously. At that- Ragtha's face softed, almost like she felt guilty for asking. You don't chose the people you're around in here, after all, you have to make do.
"But it doesn't matter how much he tries to push me away and acts like an a-hole to everyone. He's my friend and will remain my friend no matter what" The rag-doll sighed as she rubbed her hands against her face, trying to grapple with the fact that you're never changing your stance on this.
"I guess I just...don't get how you can stand by him when he basically totures all of us. Do you not feel guilty?" It was obvious she was trying to make you feel guilty for remaining to be his friend, but that doesn't mean you liked his actions. She struggled to understand how close you two were before this place and how much either of you survived without each other. Yes- he has done horrible things here- but he has his own demons he's working through.
"Of course I don't condone what he does do you guys at all, hell I've even talked to him before about it but it doesn't change that much. That's just how he's coping, not an excuse obviously, but he just doesn't know how else to handle being here. He was never particularly...good with handing his emotions, let's say" You still feel the need to defend him in every way possible, not caring if nobody else likes you because of it. You live by your truth and refuse to lose a friend you've known for this long.
"Which...I haven't seen him around in a while, I'm going to check in on him, probably in his room. Later, Ragatha" You gave her a soft smile and a small wave as you headed towards the bedrooms, her mirroring your actions. You knew it wasn't just her who had these concerns- others all gave their piece about the matter- but she was the only one who seemed to have some forgiveness due to your past with him. The walk to the bedrooms was slow, you purposefully tried not to speed to his room to really think about the relationship you two had.
It changed drastically after you ended up here, as he was missing for about a week when you came along, you mourned him but somehow knew he was still alive. And he was- just not in the way you originally had intended, and now you were stuck in the same Hell he was in. But soon enough, you stood in front of his door staring at the large icon of his face on it. Taking a deep breath in, you knocked and twisted the door knob without waiting for an answer, knowing he would just say to "go away". Miraculously it was unlocked- almost as if he was expecting you.
"What do you want?" The rabbit asked in a low voice, not threatening, but simply exhausted. Exhausted from having to accept this existence and way of life and having to lose the people he truly cared about. He was sitting on his bed in the dark, staring at the floor with a blank stare. This was a side the others never saw, one only you had the privilege of seeing.
"Just wanted to check in on you, you aren't being an a-hole out-and-about so I wanted to stop in" Shutting the door and locking it to ensure you two would be alone- you walked over and sat on his bed before pulling him into a side hug. He didn't move as he allowed you to hold him, almost as if he wasn't really all there. You knew it meant he was in his own head too much, thinking too much, and you worried abstraction was slowly creeping up on him too.
"How do you keep it together? How?" He looked up with a broken face, tears threatening to spill. You chuckled sadly, sighing as you thought about how to say it.
"Honestly...I dont. I just try to hold it together in hopes of eventually getting out of here one day. If we all were to leave, would you really want the same people who you were stuck with for who knows how long to hate you for making their time here awful?" And it was true- you really didn't want your friends here to hate you if all of you suddenly escaped and you were humans again.
"What's the @%#$@#! point? Especially since none of them ever stays. One day you'll join them too, what's even the point of you being my friend?" He scoffs and shuffles away from you, trying to protect his heart and acting like you're ever going to leave him. You wouldn't dare, even if he tries to make you go away, you know he still remembers the promise. The words stung, but you never let them ruin your mood or perception of him.
"Oh really? What's the point? You push everyone away to try and not let your heart get broken again but it just makes you more of a jerk. I will defend you until the day I die but you dare and try to be an a-hole to me? You're stupid as crap if you think that's going to work" You just stared at him to make a point, not moving an inch from your spot. He was returning to his usual self- face becoming annoyed and arms crossed as if to say 'You are nothing to me and a nuisance'. A defense tactic that quickly dissolved as he sighed and uncrossed his arms. Taking a deep breath, it seemed like he wasn't ready to say what he was going to say.
"Fine, it's never going to work, knowing you. Just don't be surprised when everyone turns on you for continuing to hang out with me, then we can be the most hated in the circus together! Wouldn't it just be lovely?" Jax enthusiastically yet sarcastically exclaimed, turning around with a smile and grasping your hands in his. He always loved to be sarcastic, especially to hide his inner thoughts from everyone. You knew he wanted you to be accepted by everyone, but also didn't want to lose you at the same time, even if he never admits it.
"I don't care if I'm hated, all I care about is you...ok? That's it. I don't give two flips about what others think. I always cared about you and that's never going to change. They can all suck it" You smiled slyly, speaking the truth. Jax would always be the one you would never part with, before, during, and after being in the hellish place that was the digital circus. Gripping his hands, his face twitched with a hint of genuine care before becoming stern.
"They can suck big fat @%!#& for all I care" He then started to laugh uncontrollably and you joined in as well, knowing exactly what word he said. The mood instantly became light as the both of you laughed for a few minutes before calming down. You leaned over to him, cupped his head and kissed his forehead, which made him blush and mumble something you couldn't hear. Moving your head so your forehead was touching his, you stared at him.
"Remember? 'Live together, die together' Or did you forget that?" It was a saying you both came up on his birthday, a promise that you renewed upon ending up in here. You brought out your pinky and held it, a silent agreement.
"Live together, die together" He wrapped his pinky finger around your own.

No matter how many times you told Jax to knock it off, he continued to be the biggest bully in the circus. No doubt he ignored you not just because he's an asshole, but because after the only other person you two were close to abstracted, its been difficult to meet in the middle again. Grief is a terrible thing that everyone experiences differently, especially here. There are no minutes or hours or days or months or years, just...a digital hellscape.
You two had an argument, a nasty one, not spurred between just one of you. It was a mutual blaming of causing the other to abstract. You both blamed each other and yourselves personally for not being able to prevent it from happening. Both were shit friends. Both horrible people. The argument and sudden separation caused a ripple through the whole circus and everyone could sense just how deeply the abstraction fucked with you both. Especially Jax- he became nastier to everyone as a shield to deflect from how broken he was inside.
So when Ragatha said 'Not anymore' in response to Jax not having any friends, it made you furious. So furious that you wanted to give her a piece of your mind. But you didn't, because you weren't even apart of the conversation. No, you were just close enough to hear parts of the whole, but definitely heard that. The rest of the adventures were tense, but you slowly felt yourself being drawn more to Pomni and by extension- Jax. But you haven't had a full on conversation with him yet alone and the thought made you incredibly nervous.
And at the bar, you didn't blame Jax for not saying anything about his life before the circus. You knew him all too well and he had every right to keep it hidden. Meanwhile you? You ended up giving the important tidbits of your life, but a lot less than what you shared with Jax and Ribbit as an attempt to at least connect with everyone more.
It wasn't just Jax you grew distant from, but it was everyone.
Then it was time for baseball with the opposing team who quite literally, were the opposites of you all. At some point, the others besides you and Pomni decide to put him in a maid dress. He did not like it at all. And not just the normal amount of dislike, but extreme discomfort it hurt to watch him lash out in anger and embarrassment.
"I thought you would have voted for me because ya know- I'm the asshole, right?" He sarcastically said to you, causing you to flinch. You said those exact words during the argument all that time ago because you didn't like how unreasonably mean he was becoming.
"Well despite what happened, I don't want to be one to you, no matter how you treat me" You spoke in full honesty, because you never spewed any insults at him even if he did it to you first. It never got to you like how it did with the others since you had gotten used to it, even if he did get worse after Ribbit has abstracted. He sighed and looked away, his expression suddenly turning melancholic as it seemed he was about to say something. But as soon as Pomni came up to talk to him- he just paid attention to her instead. Despite him getting closer to her, you knew he was doing it for a reason, and that he would answer you when he was ready. You extended the olive branch, and it was up to him and only him if he would grab it.
Soon, the rapid-fire adventures ended and you were spit out in the main part of the circus. Jax wanted to show Pomni something in the hallway so they started walking away. But before they could get far- Jax stopped and looked back at you.
"Hey would you want to uh, come along?" His voice was unsure, but firm. He grabbed your offer, the olive branch was taken, and you wers thankful. Saying you did, you hurriedly ran to catch up to them before the rabbit started to walk again.
"So what did you want to show me?" The jester asked with curiosity. You somehow just knew what she wanted her to see and why he wanted you to come along. Was this his form of an apology?
"You'll see, but I feel like my old friend here already knows" You were a bit startled that he knew, but also not surprised at all since you both were so close others used to say you acted like a married couple. You couldn't really define the relationship in any way, but you still respected him very deeply and never wish to fight with him again. He meant a lot to you, and you know you meant a lot to him.
It wasn't long before you three ended up in the hallway full of everyone's bedrooms. Towards the back of it lies the one place you haven't visited since it happened.
Ribbit's bedroom.
The sight of the red x over his face made your breath hitch, you stayed away from this place because you couldn't handle even looking in this direction. Yet here you were, with Jax and the newest addition about to enter. The rabbit held onto the doorknob and he looked at you, a sad expression on his face as he was gauging your reaction. This is where the fight took place; right outside the bedroom. He twisted the doorknob to reveal the bedroom which was still exactly as it was left the day Ribbit abstracted.
"His name was Ribbit, and he was our best friend" Jax's voice was calm and had a sort of fondness as he recounted the many days and adventures the three of you had. Pomni took in the room and this information as he spoke of the good and the bad, all which almost made you tear up. It wasn't long until he got up until the day the frog was abstracted, his breathing became heavy as he slouched over, a pained look in his eyes. You got closer to him and pulled him into a hug.
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to" You told him softly, rubbing his back as he slightly gripped the clothing on your shoulders.
"Yeah if it makes you uncomfortable, you don't have to tell me now!" Pomni worridly and quickly added onto your statement, not wanting to ruin the new, budding friendship she was forming with him. But Jax was silent for a moment as he just embraced you in a way that he was terrified on letting you go again. You didn't want to let him go either, but you couldn't stay attached to him forever. This was the moment to decide to get closer to with him again and try to repair what was lost.
"I heard from uhm...Ragatha that you two had a falling out after...it happened. I'll leave you two alone now" she sounded like she was scared of saying one wrong thing and suddenly Jax would return to how he normally was. But she didn't. She held a hand on the doorframe to stop herself as she looked back. "Thank you for telling me though, I'm sure you guys were all really close. But don't forget I'm here too, ok?" And then she was gone.
"Please don't leave me" He was so quiet you barely heard him. But you did.
"I won't leave you again, you hear me? As long as you don't leave me again. I...really want to try being friends again, if that's ok with you, of course" In no way did you want to force him into that since that's the last thing that would help build your connection back.
"I won't ever leave you again I swear. I would uh...like to be friends again too. Don't tell anyone this hug happened or I'll kill you" That got a single huff of a smile out of you as you pulled away and looker at him with nothing but love in your eyes. You always loved him in whatever kind of love that may be. He was back. Your Jax was back. For good this time.
"Oh please, killing me would mean me leaving again" You couldn't help but smile as your heart grew. Maybe happiness was possible here and that happiness could be from a purple rabbit named Jax.
"That's true...I hate when you're right" Rolling his eyes, he smiled as he stared at you with a look that you knew all too well. He was ready to cause chaos.
"Want to get out of here and mess with Ragatha a bit?" Of course, you couldn't be surprised.
"Really? After all that? Let's just focus on I don't know...not piss everyone off again?

SUMMARY﹕You and Fat Gum had been dating for five months, but when the opportunity finally presents itself- you steal his massive hoodie and wear it.

NOTES﹕BNHA always gets me in such a writing mood lol just a short cute one shot. Haven't written anything for bnha in a long ass time much less for fat gum so imposter syndrome STAY BACK
You always loved going to your boyfriend's place to hang out, unfortunately due to his size going to yours was off the table. This place was massive, everything was custom made to fit his needs when he was in skinny or fat form. That being said- it was incredibly roomy, there was no lack of space at all which works out if you stay over with a bag or accidentally leave something.
He had just gotten off his twelve hour shift and he was exhausted. He got rid of all his fat before he left his agency so it was easier to move around- and to cuddle with you. Usually he immediately puts his hero uniform to be dry cleaned in the laundry basket, but today he hung it up on one the couch as he trudged to the bathroom to take a shower like a zombie.
This was your chance.
As soon as you saw the bathroom door click shut, you smiled and rushed over to grab the huge hoodie. Giggling, you opened it up and shoved your arms through the sleeves, it was a bit difficult since it was so massive, but you were able to get both arms through and zip it shut. It completely covered you and it was so warm from him wearing it all day and working in it. Could you have probably asked him to try it on? Yes. But you wanted to be a bit mischievous and surprise him one day.
Taishiro can get serious- especially in battle, but he's always been easy to fluster. You did want to wear it anyways, but you also wanted to see his reaction with you wearing it. And it was so comfortable you didn't want to take it off. With someone like who who was significantly shorter then him, it fit on you like a 3XL shirt on a five year old, there was a lot of extra fabric that pooled on the floor as well from how much there was.
Feeling satisfied, you snuggled up on the big couch and turned the TV on, trying to find something good to watch with him. You couldn't wait to see his reaction as you couldn't help but find it so comfortable and comforting, you felt safe wearing it and like you could just fall right asleep in it. It was hard but you managed to keep your eyes open as you heard the bathroom door open.
"Now I'm finally yours for the night baby, what do you want to-" He started to speak but stopped when you know he looked at you. Smirking, you turned around and placed your arms on the back of the massive couch to see. His hair was semi-dry as he was dressed in loose fitting clothes, his face was completely red and eyes wide as he fumbled his words.
"Y-you're wearing my hero outfit!" This man was completely flustered as he took it all in, you knew you got him good. While he was pretty easy to fluster, he also made you flustered pretty easily too. You both knew each other's boundaries pretty well and that made it nice to not push the other too far. Even if it had only been a few months of dating- you already felt comfortable enough with him far more than any other person ever had.
"And how do I look?" You could hear him gulp all the way from where you were and you had a feeling that he wanted to see you in it for a while now, probably just too scared to say anything about it before. Then, he started to slowly walk foward towards you, gulping as he stood in front of you. He was so tall you always had to strain to look up at him, but you wouldn't change it for the world.
"Ya look adorable! Maybe I should let you wear it everyday..." He spoke quietly at the last part, to himself as a reminder, which made you chuckle.
"Well what are you doing over there, big boy? Let's watch a movie!" You patted the cushion next to you and you smirked as he hurried over to the couch. You expected him to just collapse next to you, but no, he instead scooped you up and sat down, making sure you were laying on his lap as he held you. You screeched and giggled as he kissed you, your heart fluttering at how small you were in his arms. It was like you were a baby!
"I'm picking the movie!" He yelled as he grabbed the remote, and you tried to take it from him, but of course, his arms were much longer.
"Fine! It better be a good one or else I'm never wearing your hoodie again!" That was a lie. He knew it was a lie too. How could you resist not wearing it again after today?
"Uh huh. Yeah we both know that isn't happening" He snickered before looking at the TV and clicking buttons on the remote that he continued to hold up high. You watched as he navigated the menu to a streaming service, and then he clicked through until your favorite movie popped up. You switched back to look at him and he had a soft smile.
"Dang...should have made some popcorn..." He pouted and you giggled. Food was never not on his mind. Whenever you were watching a movie or TV show with him- the amount of popcorn you had to make was insane. His pay from being a Pro-Hero is more than others make at his rank, but its because it all goes to food! He needs to eat a lot in order to do his job, so his wages accommodated for that thankfully. You didn't mind it at all, it was never about the money regardless, but it made you be able to make whatever dish you wanted without worrying about cost. It was always fun to cook for Taishiro, he enjoyed every single dish you made and you always made sure to make a double batch for him.
"Who needs popcorn when you have me?" Fluttering your eye lashes at him, he laughed and snuggled you into his chest as he peppered your face with kisses.
"Stop it I can't pay attention to the movie!" You exclaimed and he gave you one last kiss on the lips.
"Maybe don't wear my hoodie next time, ya little minx"

You stare at your boyfriend, the winged man on the verge of a breakdown in your shared living room. You hated it, what happened? The press couldn't release anything yet and everything had been confidential, even to you. Your eyes started to well up as you pushed yourself off of the doorway and walked up to him with a sad smile. His head lay in his hands, choked sobs ripped through his throat, his form laid hunched over as he sat on the couch at the cusp of letting loose. Keigo's feathers had been burned off entirely a week ago, they were almost fully grown back, their usual beautiful red was replaced with a deep mahogany. He had his wings in full, spanning many feet on each side of him, they were loosely wrapped around his broken form, as a protective barrier. A shaky sigh escaped your mouth as you slowly approached the shaking male, his left hand attempting to cover up the long burn scar on his face, the sight broke your heart into a million pieces.
"Goawaygoawaygoawaygoawaygoaway...." he muttered, feeling your presence from a few feet in front of him.
He told you go away at the hospital too.
Tears only threatened to spill even more, Keigo never told you to go away, only at the hospital and now. You ignored him this time and walked even closer, he flinched with a shaky gasp as he felt your hand gently placed over top of his. You didn't say anything because knowing him right now, he wanted silence, so you gave him that. however the winged hero kept his eyes planted to the floor, but his shaking grew less only by a small bit. You leaned foward, however he flinched back and sat still, still staring down. tears crawled down his imperfect face as you leaned up and gently placed a kiss on his forehead, letting him know you were there for him. Keigo's hands then left his face as he pounced foward and wrapped his arms so tightly around you that the wind was knocked out of you. you didn't complain, you didn't say a word, instead you ran your hands through his ash-blond hair as he cried into your neck.
He let it all out.
Loud yet muffled sobs rang through the house as the broken man seeked comfort in your arms, your touch, your love. the crook of your neck and shirt got wet from his salty tears, but you couldn't care less. You softly 'sshhhed' him as your hand continued to run through his messy locks and your other hand gently rubbed his back. He continued to sob on you as his grip tightened, him not letting you go without a fight. Whatever he was going through, it had weighted him down so much, he couldn't bear it anymore. Then tears started falling from your eyes as you stared into window in front of you, seeing the lights of the buildings lit up in the dead of the night, what time even was it? You sniffled as you started crying, you wanted to know what was wrong, you wanted to know how he got that scar. but you couldn't right now, not now unless he tells you.
"I killed someone...i'm so sorry!" he yells at you, now sobbing even harder into you, you froze. Then you cried. you held him tighter as you buried your face into his abundant hair, crying into the softness of it. Did he actually kill someone? The villain from the league of villains twice was killed in the raid keigo was a part of, however you didn't know keigo was the one to kill him. You felt horrible he had to do all this alone, being a double agent, ending up killing someone, villain or innocent, it was still something that could lead a person to suicide with enough guilt.
You won't let that happen.
"Keigo, i don't care i love you!" you scream, not caring if he meant to kill Twice or not, he was still your one and only bird that you would love no matter what. You continued to sob as he pulled away and stared into your eyes. His face was red as the tears glistened, you then finally realize that he had made his wings smaller, no longer enveloping you two. He felt safe with you now, he must have because he flinched earlier at you, now he was drowning in your comfort. His eyes were red from sobbing so hard, his chest rose at a short pace, however his breaths had been shallow. His mouth was open as you continued to remain silent as you stared at your boyfriend.
"Y-you do?" he choked it out as he looked at you in disbelief, did he really think you would leave him? You giggled as some more tears fell from your eyes, you pushed his beautiful hair out of his soaked face to better take a look at your future husband. His hands then moved from your shoulders up to your face and did the same.
"Yes Keigo...I still love you, I don't care. I am and will marry you someday my handsome bird brain" You smiled through the waves of emotions that had been rocking your system as you both connected your lips. It was a soft and gentle kiss, one that eased your system. Keigo's hands cupped your face as you placed yours around his neck, you didn't feel desperation, you didn't feel lust, you felt the love of a shattered man who would never let you go. Your eyes fluttered shut as you continued to kiss him with so much love that he will always feel safe in your arms. You broke away from it, now your chests slowly rising and falling at a slower pace. You gulped as a small smile formed on his face.
✦ :: You were the Doctor's companion for a few trips, you loved it truly you did, but it became too much and he brought you home. However- a man knocks on your door one night and despite never seeing him before, you knew who he was, even after a few years. Welcoming him in, he asked to stay just one night with a look of such sadness it made your heart hurt. How could you ever say no to your Doctor?

✦ ;; Reader was the 9th's companion before Rose. After 10 defeated the Master in the Valiant and dropping Martha off at his house, he visited the reader.
A sudden knock on your door surprised you as there was nobody expected today. It wouldn't be surprising if it was your date from the other night asking for a second chance after you told him it wasn't working out. He was...nice but too clingy and always wanted to be talked to 24/7. He expected too much from right off the bat. Sighing, you got up from your comfy spot on the couch, set down the remote to the TV, and approched the door. Opening it half-way, the sight made you freeze. A man who you never saw before was standing there still, staring at you with tears in his eyes, but you recognize him, even if he's wearing a new face.
"Doctor" Whispering, you stared back in awe and concern as you haven't seen him in about four years. You didn't know why he was crying, but you knew better to ask. While this would be the first time you met a new regeneration of his- you always knew deep down he was the same man regardless of his emotional state. The fact that he most likely found a new companion after you and yet she wasn't here told you everything you needed to know.
Something bad happened and he was alone.
"One night. Just...one night and I'll leave you alone forever" Heart stinging, you felt guilt as you did leave him, but you never hated him, that's not why you left. But you couldn't blame him for thinking you never wanted to see him again. Tears threatening to spill, you pull him into a hug and he reciprocated, you could feel his chest rise up and down as it was obvious he was trying not to break into sobs. Letting go was almost painful, but you had to in order to let him inside.
He shuffled in looking like a kicked dog as he made his way straight to your couch, plopping down without saying anything else. Shutting the door quietly, you just stared at him for a few seconds before deciding on how to approach him. You knew him well, maybe not this regeneration of him, but you still knew him at his core. Despite his happy-go-lucky exterior- there is darkness within him, constant battles of doing the right thing. When you met him, he was fresh off the Time War, he had to leave his own planet behind, his people. Sure, you travelled him with beyond the cosmos to other planets, but you never permanently left Earth behind. Just the thought made your heart hurt.
Should you make him tea? No, he wouldn't drink it right now. Maybe...maybe you should turn in early. Maybe he just needs to sleep in the same bed as you and hold you close. Your relationship with the Doctor was never strictly defined, yet your connection ran so deep with him. You didn't want to leave, but after almost dying on a priate ship sometime in the 1700s- it was too much and he understood it. But you told him he was always welcomed to visit anytime as long as he didn't drag you along. He wanted you so he wasn't lonely, and you came along so you weren't lonely. Yet here you both were, seeking comfort from each other knowing it wouldn't last.
"Come on to bed with me, I think I have some pj's that should fit you" Lightly pushing him by his shoulder, he put on a soft smile as he followed you.
"You know, if you wanted me to shag ya, you could have asked at any time. Or is it this face?" While he didn't laugh, he still always found time to joke around regardless of how feels. It was his way of coping. Chuckling softly, you pushed back tears in your eyes as you led him to your bedroom. Gathering a pyjama set for him, you exited the room so he could change in peace. You weren't going to shove him into the tiny bathroom, he was a guest, a guest you loved in many ways.
You were looking ahead when the door slowly creaked open behind you, his head poking out with a tired face as you entered. Before he came, you put on your own pj's to relax and watch a movie so there was no need for you to change. But you'd take caring for your Doctor over a stupid movie. You've lived a more exciting life when you were with the Doctor than any movie you could watch.
"I don't want any apologies, got it? I told you you were welcome at any time, this wouldn't be the first time you interrupted me" Hearing a soft snort from him, you smiled and guided him to the bed and pulled back the blankets, he crawled in and laid on his side. Turning on the bedside lamp, you shut off the overhead light and crawled him beside him. Wrapping your arms around him and hugging him from behind, you could feel his chest rising and falling as he breathed. You felt him tug your arms closer to him as if he was scared to let you get away, scared that you would suddenly leave him. You knew he didn't want you to feel guilty- but it was starting to gnaw away at you.
You left him.
"I can practically hear you thinking over here you know" The smirk was present in his voice, but the sadness was just as exposed. "I don't hate you for leaving, I never can, never will. Nothing could make me hate you" A few tears escaped your eyes as you sniffled, you still meant just as much to him as he did to you.
"Goodnight Doctor. I love you" You whispered into his back, knowing he would be gone by morning. It hurt a bit, but this was how he was. This was your Doctor. Never in one place for too long.
"Goodnight beautiful. I love you too" After a few minutes, the presence of being next to each other and sharing body heat lulled you both into sleep. While you may not always be present together, you two were never apart.
⸝⸝ After the Joker crashed the restaurant you were in for your birthday, he becomes fixated on you and decides to make it a birthday dinner that you would remember forever.
✦ ;; It was your birthday today, so you decided to treat yourself and go out to dinner with your friends. Unfortunately for you- the Joker had plans that night too and decided to hijack the restaurant for his own meal after escaping Akrham again. Ordering everyone out, he told you to stay since it was your birthday to give you a gift nobody else had the pleasure of receiving: having dinner with him.

You were excited to go out to dinner at a nice restaurant for your birthday, despite the rain and darkness that always seemed to be permanent in the city. Finishing up your look, you glanced at your clock and realized you needed to leave! Swiftly grabbing your bag, you put on your jacket and took your umbrella as you practically ran down the two flights of steps and burst through the street level door onto the sidewalk. Opening your umbrella as it poured down, you rushed to the edge of the sidewalk and waved your free hand, hoping to catch a taxi. Luckily, one actually stopped for you- half the time they drive past you, and you hopped in.
Shutting the door, you told the driver the address and he drove through the crowded streets of Gotham without a word. You hated driving here, despite it being arguably safer than walking or public transportation, so you often took taxis to get to where you needed to go. The driver was silent and looking forward, which was a Godsend as most of the time, they would either blabber until you swear your ears would fall off, stare at you the entire time in the mirror, ask you exceedingly creepy and personal questions. People in this city were crazy most of the time since crime was so high, it was corrupt from the inside and out. Many get sent to Arkham Asylum, but there are a few…higher profile people that seem to always escape from there.
One being the Joker. He had just escaped this morning but hadn't made any spectacle of his escape yet. You were scared, sure, but the place you were going to wasn’t on his usual hits. Plus, what are the odds that he would come to the exact restaurant you're going to for your birthday? It wasn’t the highest end in the city, but definitely up there in terms of being expensive and more luxurious. You wanted this birthday to be special, saving up for this since your last birthday because you wanted to have something good happen in this cursed city.
You watched the city go by accompanied by car horns and angry drivers yelling at each other before soon arriving at the restaurant ten minutes later. You paid the fare and exited the car, immediately rushing to the glass door and opening it, finding no use to open your umbrella. You were greeted with warmness and a host that kindly showed you to your table after you told her your name. Some of your friends were already there, and you noticed that just one wasn’t here yet. As soon as you realized that, your phone dinged and you saw a text from him saying he was stuck in traffic. Damn traffic…
“Hey guys!” You slipped into your seat and placed your bag between your legs, happy to see them all. There were seven in total of your group including yourself, however only five of them were here at the moment, leaving an empty seat. He for some reason was always late, whether it was traffic, he lost his keys, or his cat kept biting him. It wasn’t annoying, at this point it was kind of funny that bad luck always prevented him from getting to places on time.
“Where's Larry?” Mia asked as she looked over the menu, not caring enough to look up as she wanted to get her food as fast as possible. She always was someone who was a huge eater, always the hungriest out of everyone.
“He just texted me saying that he got stuck in traffic. You know how he is” You sighed a small smile, knowing this is a doomed city in all capacities. You were glad you didn't face any as you didn't want to be late. There was always something going wrong, whether its traffic, horrible weather, normal criminals causing a shooting, or the infamous villains that always loved to shut down parts of the city.
“Ugh of course! I had to leave super early because the subway got shut down after that attack from the Riddler four days ago. They still haven't reopened my stop! Had to take two cabs to get here” Matteo sighed as his eyes twitched, he relied on the subway to get places since he lived the furthest from anyone and it was the cheapest way to get to places closer to everyone. The Riddler had created a riddle for Batman that wound up being him wanting to bomb the whole subway system because of some stupid shit you couldn’t care to remember. So it’s been fully shut down until they make sure all the bombs or any other dangerous device is gone.
“Well, we can all agree that this city sucks. Buuut, we are here to celebrate ___’s birthday!” Quincy quickly turned the negative into a positive, which made you smile.
“Yeaah happy birthday bitch!” They exclaimed as you laughed, shushing them as some other patrons looked over at the disturbance and foul language. Rolling your eyes, you shushed your friends as they giggled, excited for your birthday just as much as they are. As per the plan, the restaurant was happy to make a special cake for you and keep it in the back until you were done with dinner. You always looked forward to cake, who didn’t?
“Thank you guys really” It wasn't long before the waiter arrived at your table, getting ready to take your order for drinks. However, the sound of gunfire startled you and everyone gasped and cowered in fear. You've managed to avoid crime so far in a miracle in this city, yet you knew that would change. You were equally scared for your life and pissed that your birthday was ruined. What was supposed to be a nice, relaxing dinner with your friends was destroyed by some random low life who probably wanted to steal everyone’s things. You chose this restaurant specifically because it somehow hasn’t been involved in anything shady or had any shootings or robbings in the past.
Men holding guns and wearing clown masks swarmed the place and ordered people to stay sitting. Mia grabbed your hand underneath the table, knowing you're not good in stressful situations. It tried to control your breathing as a gun was shoved on the side of your face, the man yelled at you to not move. Oh God, were you going to die tonight? You knew who these guys were, everyone did- Joker's henchmen- which could only mean…
“My, my, aren't you all good to see me again?” Your gaze switched over to the Joker sauntering through the front door, wearing a smile as he eyed everyone with amusement, adjusting his red bowtie. Never did you think that you would ever see the man himself in person and you couldn’t help feeling almost entranced by him. His appearance was unique, purple suit, face painted white, red painted lips, and bright neon dyed hair. You saw countless pictures of him, who didn’t? But you were a fool to think you would never be involved in someone like the Joker’s reign of terror.
“Now, I thought I should treat myself to a nice meal. The food in Arkham isn’t very good, you see. And I would have made a reservation but that just isn't my style.” It was then his gaze switched over directly to you, causing you to freeze. He was silent as he looked at you up and down, but spending the most time staring at your face. This wasn’t good.
“Now, why is a gun shoved directly in their pretty face?” Joker asked his henchman, clearly not happy with what he did. You were confused for many reasons as the clown prince started making his way towards you.
“To make sure they don't do nothing, boss. Their hand is under the table” He growled, shoving the barrel harder into your head, making you wince. The clown prince raised an eyebrow as he walked over and bent down to look under, clearly able to see that you held nothing but your friend's hand in yours. Huffing, he roughly ripped the gun from your head and cupped your face in his hands gently, rubbing one cheek with his thumb.
“They're just scared of you stupid oaf” He sneered at his henchman in frustration before focusing back on you. “It's ok, my dear, you don't have to be scared. What’s your name?” You hesitantly told him your full name, knowing he would probably be able to track you down anyway without it if you wronged him.
“Such a beautiful name, and you're all dolled up, huh? And are those gifts? Are they for you?” You nodded as a few tears slipped from your eyes, terrified that the most dangerous criminal in Gotham had completely put his attention on you and that he was currently holding your face in his hands.
“Is it your birthday, my dear?” You nodded another yes, glancing over to your friends as you gripped Mia's hand even tighter. He let go of your face and smiled wide, standing up and grabbing your hands, yanking you up from your chair and ripping your hand from your friends as he twirled you.
“Well happy birthday!” You were stopped and Joker was holding your waist as you breathed heavily from anxiety, what was happening? Why was he holding you so close? What caused this sudden interest in you out of everyone else? It couldn’t be just from physical attraction alone, could it?
“Do you have a cake?” Gulping, you gathered your response and tried to not to sound pathetic. Sounding weak in front of the Joker would not be good, it would mean you would be seen as gullible, malleable, something the Joker would take advantage of.
“Yes, it’s in the kitchen. We- it was going to be brought out after dinner” Your voice was shaky as you looked over at your friends, you pleaded with them in your eyes to comply, to not act out in any way in fear of them getting hurt. Your birthday may have been ruined, but you didn’t want it to get worse.
“Well, let’s bring it out after dinner then! It shall be a double celebration today! Just the two of us” Wait. He was keeping you here? To have dinner with you? Your head was swimming as Joker continued to hold you, the yells of his henchman demanding everyone to get out meant your friends would be gone too.
“No! I'm not leaving them!” Mia yelled as your other friends joined them, too scared to even go near the Joker, but not wanting to leave you alone with him. It made you smile slightly as they really did care about you, but you couldn’t bear to see any of them seriously hurt for defying them.
“It’s ok guys…I’ll be ok. Just go with them and nobody gets hurt. You won’t hurt them, right, Joker?” Staring at Joker expectantly, his henchmen stopped as he hummed, thinking about your subtle demand. You knew that people often ask him to not hurt anyone during his escapades, but of course never listens, but it was just a hope that he would actually listen to you.
“You heard them boys, be…gentle” Shocked, you watched as your friends accepted that they couldn't get to you and were allowed to grab their things before being escorted outside. You saw Mia’s concerned face and you gave her a smile as she walked out the front door. You knew she was scared for you, but you would be damned if you acted like some damsel in distress.
“Now that we are alone…” he sat you back down in your seat and he sat across from you, the seat Larry would have sat in if he had gotten here on time. You breathed a sigh of relief realizing that traffic saved him from this nightmare. Who could have thought? Your anxiety was still at an all time high, you were just glad one of your friends didn't get caught up in this. The Joker hummed as he picked up a menu, browsing the food and drink options like he didn't just force everyone out at gunpoint. You gulped, shakily picking up your menu and anxiously flipping through it, knowing that he would force you to order something anyways.
“Don't be afraid of the price, my dear!” He said as he lowered the menu and looked right at you, causing another wave of anxiety to course through you. “It's your birthday, after all! I'll even give you a gift of my very own” Oh God, what kind of gift? The Joker said nothing more as he perused his options before deciding and you didn't dare say anything.
“Waiter!” He yelled, and out of the corner of your eye, you saw the waiters and waitresses standing by the kitchen in fear start to knock each other with their elbows for someone to take one for the team. A younger gentleman around your age nervously approached and you mouthed “I'm sorry” to him as he got closer, he gave you a soft but tight smile in return as he stood as close as he could to bring himself to Gotham's most dangerous.
“What-what will you be having today, Sir Joker?” The tension in the air was tight, with you and him worried that one wrong movement or saying the wrong thing could get you both hurt, or even worse, killed. Joker casually spoke his order to the waiter and he hurriedly wrote it down on his notepad. You told your order and that's when you noticed his nametag “Mark”. Giving him your menu, Joker did the same. You decided to say something to Joker before Mark left, hoping he would follow through.
“I-please don't hurt anyone here if they mess up the orders, Joker” You weren't the most confident, but you made sure to speak as firmly as possible. Joker raised his eyebrow and stared at you as Mark started to turn and halted to hear what you had to say. “Please. I hear stories of what you do to innocent people when you don't get your way but. But you would ruin my birthday if you hurt anyone. So please, especially when there's armed gunmen all around and the fear of messing up could mean death, mistakes are a higher possibility to happen” You were scared he would talk back and kill you to dare to demand him to do something, he would have one of his men bring you behind the restaurant and shoot you right then and there. But that didn't happen. You gripped the table tightly as the Joker brought his finger up to chin and thought for a moment before giving his answer.
“Oh I wouldn't dare ruin your precious birthday! If there are any mistakes I will simply send it back, especially when you put it like that…men! Get out of the kitchen! Only I or the servers shall enter” With a snap, you saw two exits immediately and took charge towards the back of the restaurant. You saw at the same time Mark entered, and the waiters all looked at you and gave you a thankful nod. It made you feel…special almost with how he listened to your demands.
“Now, while we wait, tell me about yourself” Gulping again, you move your leg up and down as you take a deep breath and start to tell him simple things about yourself. Your name, age, where you worked, but not dare where you lived.
“Fascinating! Oh so fascinating!” He then leaned closer to you on the table, elbows resting on the wood with his head cupped between the palms of his hands “You know, I don't listen to anyone else, everyone else is so boring. But you? There's just…something about you. I like you” I like you. Those words shot sparks through your body. The Joker was already becoming obsessed with you, this was not good. So why did those three words make you feel…good?
“Oh? Like me, why?” You challenged him, slowly finding confidence as you stared at him with a smirk. You didn't know what had gotten into you, all you knew was that this was starting to feel thrilling. The fear was slowly washing away and turning into confidence. You knew he was a criminal and did awful things, hell, he kicked everyone out including your friends at gunpoint. But there was something about him too that was sucking you in.
“Oh you are interesting! That's exactly why I like you! You're not some boring hostage who just screams and demands to be let go. It's the same thing every time! But with you, it's different. And I like that. Plus, you're a pretty face to have around” There he went again- calling you pretty. You felt butterflies gather in your stomach as the Joker flirts with you, you were certain of it now. You were walking a dangerous line and it was strangely thrilling. Up until now, your life was fairly average, had nothing special going on and going nowhere fast. And here you were, having a birthday dinner with the Joker.
“You really think I'm pretty?” You kept digging a deeper hole for yourself, the more you entertained him, the more he would have an obsession with you. It was a dangerous game you were playing here, and would never admit that you are sensing some strange attraction for him. It was shameful, but he was charming in an odd way. You then heard the kitchen door swing open to reveal Mark coming out with your dinners in hand, visibly shaking and doing a poor job to disguise it. You felt bad that he was the one to take the fall for the other servers, but somebody had to do it.
“Of course! You are the most beautiful person I’ve ever laid eyes on, my sweet” Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Mark exit the kitchen with your food. Taking a deep breath, you watched as he shakily walked to the table, trying his hardest not to drop anything. Despite you making the Joker promise that nobody got hurt, there was still that worry. Setting everything down, he gave you both an awkward smile.
“If you need anything, please don't uhm…hesitate to call” He rushed off as soon as he got everything plated, leaving you and the clown prince alone yet again. You didn’t blame him, you would do the same in his situation, every man for himself. Nobody would dare to interfere with any of Joker’s plots, even police are hesitant because they want as little property damage and civilian casualties as possible. You watched him as he happily picked up his silverware and started to cut into his steak.
“You know-’ He paused, waiting for you to look at him and that you did. “You could think of this as a date” That made you gasp, he was serious about this, wasn’t he? That idea didn’t sound so bad to you, which was a horrible thing to think about. Being on a date with the Joker was thrilling to think about, even if this wasn’t planned. Dating the Joker sounded just as thrilling to your boring life that led you nowhere fast.
“A date…huh?” You mused, body humming with excitement. Were you really doing this? You were really doing this. The Joker smiled at you as you made your interest obvious. It made your heart go into overdrive at the thought of what you could be in the future, how much more exciting your life would be like with the Joker in the mix. You, a regular civilian, and Joker, the clown prince of crime.
“Yes my dear, a date” He suddenly stood up, making his way to you and lifting you up out of your seat. Startled from him holding you so close again, he wrapped his hands around your waist and laid his forehead up against yours. Lips ghosting, your heart spiked as your spine shivered. It felt like time stopped as the tension grew thicker between you two. Your attraction couldn't be denied any longer, he was igniting a spark within you that wouldn’t be quenched with any other guy.
Suddenly, police sirens could be heard from outside, along with the red and blue flashing lights in the windows. Signaling that help was finally here. You weren’t sure how to feel. You wanted this moment to last forever, but knew everyone else in this restaurant was being held hostage, along with you. Only then you were reminded of the fact that you were a hostage too, the Joker forcing you to stay here and have dinner with him.
Then, his lips pressed against yours, making sparks of electricity shot down your spine as you kissed back. The kiss was soft and too quick for your liking as he pulled away. Looking into his eyes, you knew your fate was sealed. This was it- you were done for. His thumb caressed your cheek as he separated from you, leaving a strange feeling within your body.
“It is time for me to go, my dear. I will be back for you soon” At that, he fully left you standing there as he started to walk with his men, before stopping. Turning back, he grabbed something out of his pocket and threw it at you. You scrambled and caught it, realizing that it was a huge wad of cash. It was massive, you’ve never held that much cash in your hands ever.
“I’m sorry I didn’t have a better gift, dear, I do hope one thousand suffices. Shall we meet again” You watched him disappear in the back and his men leaving with him. As soon as he exited, you crumbled to the floor, breathing heavily. Hand on the tile, you went through everything that just happened. Staring at the money, you shakily put it in your bag, knowing that if you lost it, or the police took it, he would not be happy.
“This is the police!” The cops burst in through the front, startling you as they swarmed the place, immediately marking their way over to you. Your friends probably told them how Joker forced you to have dinner with him and wanted to ensure that you were ok.
“Are you alright? Did he hurt you at all?” One of them leaned down and gently touched your shoulder, putting his gun away so as to not make you anxious. All you could do was nod as the next few hours went by in a blur. You told the police everything about what happened, leaving out the parts of your sudden, growing attraction and framing the kiss like you only kissed back out of coercion. The money lay in your bag untouched.
Your life was about to change, for better or for worse.
Uuuh I rarely post art on here (if anything in general at all) but I wanna change that! Here's a traditional Rise!Mikey during that one scene from the movie
