So I just realized that I made it almost half way through April and haven’t updated my goals. Well I did manage to solve the 3x3 in under a minute and have done more sub minute solves since. I haven’t made much progress on learning full OLL but I have decided that I am no longer focusing on times at all. I will be focusing on solving as fluidly as possible. I will be taking up this approach for all my puzzles.

I will find the speed at which I have no pauses in my solve then work to inch faster and faster. I am focusing more on efficiency and fluid movements. I will continue this until I learn full last layer on 3x3 and full Yau or Hoya on 4x4. I will attempt to learn some last layer stuff on mega but I am not prioritizing it as the two cube puzzles should keep me busy for a while.

I didn’t reach my goals and that’s okay. I relearned 4 x 4 instead. I am going to back off the goals for averages and focus on just making single solves under target while also focusing on efficient solutions. I warm up with slow, deliberate solves and that really helps. This month I will work to make 2 x 2 first layer more efficient and solved in preparation for cll and eg1. For 3 x 3 I am focusing on better recognition for color neutrality and I will learn more algs for last layer. On 4 x 4 I will work on efficiency, piece recognition, and I will try out some alternative edge pairing like 3-2-3 or something like that. For megaminx I will touch on the same stuff and look into last layer algs for faster solutions.

I know that’s a tall order but I think taking some of the pressure off with the averages should help. Anyway, thanks for reading and let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions. I may post more often if time permits.

So I picked up this sweet puzzle, the YJ megaminx, and I love it! Instead of focusing entirely on the 2x2 and 3x3 I saw a video about megaminx and thought I would relearn that. Long story short, I really like megaminx now.

As far as goals go I haven’t done much with 2x2. I have learned to be color neutral on 3x3 and am approaching the 1 minute mark. My times on megaminx are not good but considering where I started there is plenty of room for improvement.

My goals for February are to get sub 10 singles on 2x2, sub 1 minute average on 3x3 and to break 5 minutes on megaminx. I got a 7:29 solve so there is a lot of work to do!

I didn’t quite realize my goal of relearning 2x2 and 3x3. I only lack a couple algorithms to get 2LLL on 3x3.

That being said I will modify my last goal and throw in the added sub goal of becoming color neutral. I know this is a large step but I am already bi-color neutral so I am partly there now. I have had a couple successful solves already but nothing to really cement any progress.

I also found out about the multi-step function on cstimer so that will also be a huge boost to me as well. With the new goal in mind I will give myself all of January to solidify my knowledge of 2x2 and 3x3. Happy New Year and happy cubing!

Just got this for Christmas! Also got some adheron lube! I have never had a cube with magnets or lube so this is a huge adjustment for me. I have learned 2x2 Ortega and am learning 3x3 CFOP again. Hopefully I will have that done by the new year. After that I should be posting asmr videos starting with 2x2. I plan on learning CLL FOR 2x2 and full OLL and PLL for 3x3. I will keep you all posted. Part of me creating this blog is to motivate me to pursue improvement in the realm of speedcubing and for myself. I am setting a goal to learn 2x2 Ortega and 3x3 CFOP by the end of the year. This means that I will not have to reference any material while solving.

I want to know pbl and 2 look oll and pll. This should be a nice goal that is plenty easy to achieve.

So I just realized that I have been cubing for about 7 years. Over the years I have had to relearn how to solve a number of times because life gets in the way. I am in the middle of one of these moments now. I have done some research on how to learn to cube and read up and listened to a couple videos from some youcubers and I have formulated a plan to relearn and get back to where I was or better.

I don’t necessarily mind having to do this as every time I end up learning something I didn’t previously know be it a technique or a certain method or just an idea. I also get to try and improve upon previous personal bests and goals.

I have never been what anybody would consider fast but I have made some pretty good strides towards that goal. I will get there one day but for now I will enjoy my journey. Stick around and maybe you could learn something too.
