Life down under
Melbourne, Australia. A trip to a new continent and my first journey to the Southern Hemisphere.
It's a bit difficult finding the words to describe Melbourne because it didn't remind me of any European or American cities I've visited - it was unlike anything I had experienced before.
Which is to say it was refreshing - the structure of city itself resembled European cities (especially English), but the locals were openly friendly, something I've grown a little homesick for living in London.
One thing is distinctly Melbourne is that this city loves their coffee - the type with the foam art and everything. It was a welcome change to see quaint cafes every few shops owned by locals, rather than corporations.
Besides taking in the cafes (and some incredible food), we spent our days roaming around the different neighborhoods, stumbling upon some amazing street art, having a browse through the local markets, and just soaking up the vibe in general.
Tiny cacti at the pop up street market in Fitzroy.
Street art on AC/DC lane in Melbourne's central business district.

What a good vibe it was.
Next, we make the trip to the west coast of Australia to visit the most remote city on Earth, Perth.
