I made another monster.
This is a Wargrog. It is a fanged beast that resembles a pig and a bear. When creating this monster, I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I just scribbled something and just built on from there. A pig bear is what we got⦠But anyways, hereās some info on this monster.
Wargrogs are really fat. Their fat tissue builds up into large, tumor-like lumps which store water. They can survive several months without taking a drink (which helps, because they live in dry regions). These fat pads are also very dense. This gives the monster protection against predators like various wyverns and hunters. Unfortunately, because of its fat deposits, the monster cannot see. It instead relies on its acute sense of hearing and its unusual ability to sense vibrations.
When threatened, the Wargrog will release some of its stored water from sweat pores under its folds to create a fine and stinky mist. If this doesnāt work, the Wargrog will have to fight. It prefers to throw its weight around and attack with its very large and compact butt. To do so, it uses its powerful forelimbs to push itself backwards into the enemy. It is also capable of leaping into the air in an attempt to crush the victim upon landing.
If youād like to know more about this monster, feel free t let me know! ^^
I decided to draw Kammedon again.
This monster also has a subspecies named the Ancient Kammedon. Unlike itās desert-dwelling counterpart, Ancient Kammedons live deep in the jungle. Regular Kammedons donāt fire off very many sharp scales, but they make you bleed, whereas its subspecies firesĀ scales often andĀ afflicts you with red poison.
I could go on talking about this monster for a long time, but for now, Iāll just leave a mini bio for the subspecies:
āA Kammedon that migrated to the jungle. Because it is omnivorous, it no longer has to venture far to search for Desert Seltas prey. The abundance of plants allows this brute to live a much longer life than its desert-dwelling counterpart.ā
Iāve wanted to do something like this for a while now.
I created my own, fan-made monster for Monster Hunter. It is a brute wyvern that takes some design aspects from a few, real-world animals (pangolin, turtle, and the iguana, somewhat). I looked at a pangolinĀ one day and thought, āitād be cool to have a monster hunter monter look sorta like this. It already stands like a brute wyvern.ā So I got to work and created this. I named it Kammedont, but Iām still working on the name. Hereās some short flavour text for it:
āThis enormous brute wyvernās sole predator is the Deviljho. However, itās near-impervious shell that releases cutting scales makes it a formidable opponent againstā¦pretty much anything.ā
Hope you think it looks good. ^^
My Monster Hunter Favorites: āPseudo-Wyvernsā
Yes, I will be including Pseudo-Wyverns as a category in my list of favorites. With that being said, lets talk about this big lug.
To be honest, I had a really hard time deciding between Akantor and Nargacuga. Nargacugaās design elements blend together perfectly. Nowhere else will you see a panther, a bat, a wyvern, and aā¦.bird (I guess) blended together as smoothly as Nargacuga. I love its design, itsĀ intimidating roar, and its stealthy behaviors .Ā
Overall, Akantor wins the #1 spot in my favorites for a couple reasons. Other than the fact that it appears reptilian or dragon-like, I cannot find any other animal/creature inspirations for this monsterās design, making it stand out among the others in the series. Some might say that this makes Akantorās design a little boring, to which I can understand. Butā¦ā¦I dunno! I guess Iām just a big fan of big, hulking designs for monsters and characters in general. Thatās just my personal quirk.
Aside from the design, meeting this monster is also great. The fight with Akantor feels serious; the volcanic scenery as well as itās dynamic theme music can really intimidate some hunters (although once you actually fight it, itās pretty easyā¦). Regardless, facing Akantor for the first time makes you feel like youāve reached a milestone in your hunting journeys. This is an effect that I explained earlier when I was talking about Shagaru Magala, my favorite elder dragon. If the fight with the monster feels important, it is more likely to be a favorite in my book, and for that reason, Akantor is my favorite āpseudo-wyvernā.
*Fun fact: If I had a pet Akantor, I would name it Sinnamon. It looks like cinnamon sticks! And itās also referred to as the āblack devilā. So, Sinnamon.
I finished it, as I promised. I can get used to this. ^^
Another doodle (Feat. Dinovaldo this time).
But first, another Monster Hunter Hunter remix.
This time, itās not a battle scene. ^^

Oh yea! So Iām a huge fan of Monster Hunter! And Pokemon! And 8-bit musicā¦
So I thought Zinogreās Theme would sound good in an old-school Pokemon style. And I made this! Hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it. ^^

Look, guys, I know this might sound hella greedy but when ya see art you like, you always reblog it. If ya gonna like it, reblog it (even after your post limit, reblog it when itās done). Likes arenāt gonna do shit because not everyone is gonna go through your likes and notice a piece of artwork. Artists wonāt get noticed if their art is just liked up and never actually shared amongst followers.
Always reblog artwork you like
Please, if you like it, reblog it. No one sees your likes. When you get a note that someone liked an art piece you almost think, man they liked it, but not enough to let other people see it.
