Damn, first post in like 3 years. I haven't posted since I started college, and now I'm ALMOST graduating. And also trans. Which was going to be my point. I'm very different than who I was 3 years ago. Like, none of my bio applied to me anymore, or even my username.

You're allowed to change who you are and what you identify with. A portion of you is this deep innate thing that never changes, but you are also partly your experiences and memories, so naturally you will change. That is alright. As long as you are you.

🍁So what’s Samhain?

Often known as the witches new year, Samhain (sow-in) is the pagan festival marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter. It is said that that the veil between our world and the spirit world is the thinnest.

🥧When is it?

It begins the evening of Oct. 31 and ends the evening of Nov. 1

🍺Food & drinks: apples, pumpkin, squash, grains, corn, beer, wine, root veggies, pomegranates, potatoes, hazelnut

🍯Crystals: pretty much any black crystal, smokey quartz, fluorite, bloodstone, carnelian

🦊Herbs & spices: Patchouli, rosemary, cloves, sandalwood, sweetgrass, sage, cinnamon, nutmeg

🧀Activities:

Go for a cemetery or nature walk

Cook some old family recipes

Divination!! This is the best time of year for it (in my opinion)

Make a bonfire

Set up an altar to honor your ancestors

Collect fallen leaves/acorns

floral body scrub recipe!

this is a really nice soothing body scrub I just made up and it left my skin so so soft!

ingredients:

- caster sugar (or any coarse sugar you have on hand)

- sea salt

- dried lavender flowers

- dried rosemary

- (crushed) dried rose petals

- olive oil (or whatever oil you prefer)

- lavender oil

- peppermint oil

instructions:

1) add sugar and salt to a bowl (3:1 ratio)

2) mix in as much dried lavender, rosemary and rose petals to your desire

3) add 5-10 drops of lavender oil and 3-5 drops of peppermint oil

4) add olive oil and mix well until the mixture sticks to skin easily without being too wet/oily

5) scoop into an airtight jar/container and seal- then use with your leisure!
